Transformers Movie Review pt2 (Trailer)

I know the director is ultimately responsible for the the entire film, but I don't think Bay gave a rat's ass about the characterization/terrible humor. These writers(that i TRULY HATE) Orci &Kurtzman were most likely told to make the humor fit for a stupid 14yrold and when you get to an action scene, don't bother, I'll write it. The special features for The Island shows Bay's main priority when it comes to movie making. Orci/Kurtzman are the worst in the biz, but I still love what Bay can do.

The only part I don't quite understand is the racial stereotype issue. (I'm not American so maybe I would never understand?) I will say that I have seen plenty of white people shouting at their families. Even if the stereotype that black people shout at their families is wholly false, it would surely be unfair (even racist) make the generalisation that NO black people shout at their families?

One thing I wanted to say was that While I thought the effects were impressive they were far from the best I have seen in any film and it wasnt enough to make up for the Bullshit this film has to offer. Iron-Man Was a Hundred times better than this movie And has the Best Effects Seen!

He went threw a trama in his life where he discovered he was killing people instead of Helping them. What plot in Transformers? It was just one Idiotic scene after another.

sam probably wrote something about his grandads trip to make the glasses more appealing on ebay and with the hole iceman thing maybe Optimus knew about Megatron crashing seeing as they are brothers and just filled in the gaps like any logical person would do. the decepticons obviously knew as they were asking for the glasses and bumblebee probably did the logical thing to do and TOLD HIS COMANDER HOW THE MISSION WAS GOING and on optimus' long asteroid ride to earth worked it out. SIMPLE

It's not Michael Bay, it's certain black actors and writers in general. Watch movies like Next Day Air, the Friday series, or something and you'll get the same stereotypes, yet noone complains when it's in a prodominantly black movie. This is the type of crap that peeves me about calling racism prematurely. It's like the boy who cried wolf. One day nobodies going to give a shit, and that's a damn shame.

Well, Transformers is not a predominantly black movie. It's not a "predominantly any-race" movie. It's a movie made for ALL audiences. And it shouldn't contain material offensive to only SOME people. Offend everyone or offend no one.

The annoying mini transformer hacked the military computer base because that's where the files on the "Iceman" discovery were kept.

Sam probably didn't write the entire history of the glasses on the eBay page other than that they belonged to his grandfather Archibal Witwicky the explorer.

The fact that everyone knows that the glasses contain the navigations and that Megatron knows English are supermassive plot holes though.

I can't believe you did not say anything about the "are you the tooth fairy" line. I found the humor in the movie acceptable, but that line was so stupid. it is not even remotely funny, and the girl says it as emotionless as possible.

The little robot hacks airforce one to find the name witwiky, and find out about the iceman project, though it does not get all of the files/location of it. cause for whatever reason the autobots know witwiky is connected to the glasses and the decepticons only know that the glasses have have location... so yeah it ultimately does not make a lot of sense why the autobots know more than the decepticons, but there is purpose to the little robot on air force one.

I agree on most of your points, then why did you like the movie? i know you have mentioned about effects, but how the hell are you supposed to enjoy that when the cameraman seems like he is on drugs or drunk when he is on duty. you never really had a chance to see the fight and half of the time i have no clue whats going on.

The car doesn't attempt to steal itself,, it just drives. He called him 50 cent cause that's what kids in high school listen to. If the robot is doing a search on Sam's grandfather, then he can't find him at Starbucks. These are MIT kids. Bad Boys consists of two black cops that don't typically say the N word. As for the last segment of this part, Steven Spielberg is usually responsible for characters acting over the top for shallow comedy. Anthony Anderson is always over the top also.

You forgot to mention the part where the little girl sees the autobot rising from the pool and says "excuse me, are you the tooth Fairy?" UUUUUuuugghhh, that line was AWFUL!!! I mean, I know its a little girl, but was she really that dumb to tell the difference between a fairy and a big ass giant robot. Don't insult our intelligence Micheal Bay, we know even little girls aren't that dumb. She could easily scream and said, "mommy, a monster," and that would been a lot understandable.

In most comedies - or even action comedies - the writers write what they think is funny and whether or not it works depends on the audiences sense of humor.

It's a reflection of culture that's humorous not because of what they do, but who they are naturally, and where they're coming from. It's based towards people that understand culture and uncomfortable situations. Sort of like the mom talking about masturbation. Granted they're putting a suburban family in the mix,, that's pretty much the same with Anthony Anderson's character as he's a computer hacker.

One uncomfortable because a government agent is jumping on Sam, and the masturbation scene is just out of the box, and subdued quickly by what this girl thinks is a good way to stop the situation. Why are you guys playing this out to be an attempt at humor rather than just plain it being expectant on how certain people do things? It gives them an ample amount of screen time, but the movie really isn't about them in the long run. There are more important things going on, and it's introductions.

they did focus on the plot. They appealed it to 13-16 year olds, and didn't bother with any of the original Tranformers crowd. They figured that they'd draw in audiences that don't get pissed off at what they think is intended to be crack-up humor, and gave the original crowd enough just to want to see how the next movies come out.

Agreed, I liked this film but we needed less human characters, not Geaorge Lucas humor, not Megan Fox being treated like a model, and the Transformers shouldn't've been 99% GM's, its kinda silly to blend in when all of Optimus Primes comrads are shiny brand new GMs.

I know this really shouldn't count, but there's a prequel comic for the movie. Within it, it shows that Bumblebee, through searching classified documents (like Frenzy did on Air Force One), finds records of the 'Ice Man' (Megatron), and the mention of Sam's Grandfather. This drives him to find Cap. Witwickey's most recent descendant, in the hope that he might know something about the Allspark.
