There are irion,steel and titan inside modern "jet engines". different types pending location in engine. some to be able to stand high heat in a certain area, ohters to be able to stand great force etc etc.

The SAS MD80 Gottröra incident, one of the damaged engines had a Titan fire in the construction ;)

Sum: great heat accure during damage.

@MRkallek91 Nonsense! Jet engines are mainly made from nickel superalloys such as Nimonic. Nimonic alloys typically consist of more than 50% nickel and 20% chromium with additives such as titanium and aluminium. The main use is in gas turbine components and extremely high performance reciprocating internal combustion engines.

There are a few ceramic coatings, but everything else is steel, stainless steel, titanium, and Aluminum alloy; - the turbine blades, nozzles and combustor liners are made of the refractory alloys like Nimonic.

By weight the ceramics are less than one percent, and in many engines, zero percent. Astounding indeed.
