My flower horn get's sick often. I buy new filter's and change water every week. it keep's getting hole's in his head looks pretty deep. I hate how it get's scars after. What can I do? is there drops I put in?

BTW nuchal humps on flowerhorns are not rare at all, i have seen females with slight nuchal humps so that isn't the only way to identify the sex. and not all flower horns are worth a lot i have seen 10" flowerhorns go for $15 and i have seen them go for $150.

the only way for your flowerhorn to get large nuchal humps is if they are the dominant fish in the tank and if they have a breeding partner. their is no such thing as in nuchal hump inhancing food. but try feeding it live food or just top of the line food like hikari cichlid gold pellets.

yo, firstly... its mainly DNA... there isa certain PH to bring the most out of the head, but even then your fish mustbe mature, tame and healthy. Diet helps alot, try feeding a mixture of live foods, Shrimps help from my experience. I also use a kind of pellet that claims to bring out the hump...

Darn you people and your nice Flowerhorns. I have always been a traditionalist, keeping the pure species like my Trimac's (herd to find a real one now that crappy FH's are available). But these awesome ones I have seen on here are pushing me to seek out a nice one of my own! Great beast!
