cant you like treat people with SMA by giving them steriods cause it will make their muscle bigger enlargeing it

@choolwe100 Sadly, you cannot. SMA is a genetic disorder that, without getting too technical, cannot be treated by steroids because anabolic steroids (the kind you're probably referring to) enlarge the muscle mass of the body and prevent it from breaking down. That won't work in this case because SMA is has to do the lack of neuron (brain) connections between the spine and the brainstem; essentially, they're severed. Unless you can find a way to glue them back together, steroids are useless
