It WAS more than a game. It was a five-year journey for Daisuke 'Pixel' Amaya, who spent all of his time perfecting everything in the game. The scripts, the designs, the programming, the maps, EVERYTHING in the game was made by one man. And though he spent all of his time and no doubt made many sacrifices to learn his skills, programming and making Ikachan in the process, he released to the world free of charge. Pixel is, in my book, one of the best game makers of all time.

If only Cave Story was to be magically ported to the SNES, then the cartridge sucked into a wormhole that ended on the earth in the year 199X...Pixel would have been a much richer man...Cave Story would be legend (it is...just not recognized by the masses, or maybe it's just for the better) and this song would have been played bye those orchestras that play video game theme songs...

(but this doesn't take away from the fact that your video is well-played)

You're absolutely correct. Today there was an official Nintendo press release on the matter. Cave Story is going to wiiware, and there's going to be new content, and motion controls (hopefully optional if they're clumsy)!

There's also the Nintendo 3DS port, another rumor about a potential Super Smash Brothers' cameo appearance of Quote and possibly Curly, Balrog, Misery, and Sue, and from what I understand, future ports of the anticipated sequel onto the weeaboo- I mean "Wee-U". Cave Story's legacy is just beginning!

U play moonsong nicely, how much time did it take to learn it so well?

Usually, it takes me an hour or two to get the basic idea of a song, and then I practice it over the next few months to improve my tempo and the finer nuances of the song itself. A lot of times, I'll think I have it down, but have to listen to the song again and realize "Oh, I missed a note there." and will incorporate that into my future performances. For instance, the MP3 version of this song that I recorded later, takes into account things I missed.

There was a remix project for the music in this game, but I never really liked any of the remixes because they didn't keep the character of the songs. Hearing this makes me want an entire album of the music played on a piano.

Well, if you want to help improve the sound quality, you can try fixating a quarter-sized piece of card in front of the mic, this helps to reduce washout sometimes. The arrangement itself was wonderful, though! (Goes to Audacity and records for offline listening)
