@walkabout09 More peojects Park & Ride project Parkiteer Bike Cages Port of Hastings Development Port of Melbourne upgrade Separating Road & Rail project Funding for an added 24 train stations to be staffed New SmartBus service (6 routes setup by mid 2010) New State of the art freeway management system Wodonga by pass (including new train station) Regional rail link Mildura Rail Freight Upgrade New Solar power Plant (The largest in the world) New Desalination Plant All because of the labor Gov!
@walkabout09 here are some projects that have been funded by John Brumby: 100 new metro trains 50 new trains 45 new country trains (V/Line) 280 new buses New public bike hire system (50 bike station, 600 bikes, setup: May 2010) A new Digital train radio system, to make the train network more safe, & faster Deer Park by pass Calder Highway Upgrade Bass Highway Upgrade Eastern Freeway Extension Building WestLink (Road Tunnel) Westgate bridge upgrade Western Highway Upgrade Peninsula Link (new F/W)
The Victorian Labor Government have also ordered 280 new low floor buses, 50 new low floor trams, 100 new metro trains, 45 new country trains (V/Line), they funded to extend the Watergardens line to Sunbury, Extension of the line from Epping to South Morang, the extension of the line from Cranbourne to Cranbourne East, and the line to Melton, they also funded to build 8 new train stations which have already started, they funded for another 50 transport police
You think that when the Victorian Government made the transport plan, there going to fund the whole plan in one year, it's a 14 year plan, most of which has already been completed,
Because of the Victorian Labor Government, all National Parks in Victoria are now free to enter, they also funded for a new public bike hire system with 50 bike stations and 600 bikes, (Operational in May 2010), the labor Government has also order 100 new trains, and 50 new trams,
Your a joke, half less, oh what, are you going to build it, also, the Road and Rail tunnel is going ahead in early 2012, most of it has already been funded,
You know something, your not even in Melbourne, your trying to make the labor Government look bad because you know there doing a lot in investments for Victoria, and you know that will help Victoria overtake Sydney much faster!
And a report stated that if Sydney funded for any transport plan within the next 36 years, they would only be in more debt, it also stated that Sydney will no longer be a place of business, 64% of Sydney companies will transfer to other states, and that would be even worse for NSW, because when companies are based in a city, they make tax off that company, e.g BHP is based in Melbourne, that's the largest company in Australia, Melbourne makes over 12 billion from it, as well as Telstra!
The State Government could fund the whole transport plan in one go but then they would be in debt, that's why it's a 12 year plan, NSW were trying to setup a 30 year plan worth 20 billion at one stage and they can't even do that, the Sydney North-West rail tunnel isn't even going ahead there now because of funding, there in debt by over 200 billion, and if they go ahead with any plans, prices will go up, car registration prices, transport prices,
The EastLink freeway and tunnel wasn't part of the transport plan because it was funded and built before the transport plan came out, and the tunnel isn't under hoddle street or the westgate! EastLink was funded back in 2006, the transport plan came out in late 2008. any projects funded before late 2008 were not part of the transport plan!
And just so you know, just because the State Government have a transport plan, they can't just fund a 50 billion dollar plan just like that! now, i know for a fact that your not a Victorian, for 1, you stated "Silly People", don't come on here and make up shit about the State Government of Victoria, NSW don't even have money to fund a transport plan, they've been trying for 8 years and they never funded any projects, Melbourne has already funded 9 billion this year on the transport plan alone!
And the rail tunnel has to go ahead because the funding submission has already been submitted to the Commonwealth Government, have you seen the transport plan, over 120 transport projects are underway this year alone.
A new $800 million freeway, a new public bike hire system, 4 train lines are being extended, 10 new train stations being built, 4 new bus routes, 16 new trains, funding for an added 50 transit Police, the Westgate bridge upgrade and many more projects are underway this year!
The Desalination Plant is a great project because state dams are low, and Victoria is getting a larger amount of people which isn't helping, the plant is the largest in Australia which will collect more than 150 Billion Litres per year,
The reason why the rail tunnel hasn't been built yet is because of other projects which are first, like a public bike hire system opening in may this year with 50 bike stations and 600 bikes,
The Road and Rail tunnel are still going to be built, it's part of the Victorian Transport plan, and the desalination plant is still going ahead which started in 2008 and is set to be fully operational by 2011! it's the largest in the world, it collects up to 150 billion/L per year
@ashleybrient The largest in the world ? and what a place to build it have you ever been that part of Victoria just past Phillip island justin madden has know clue . Our water sold to the company who owns Connex lol
Well, the fact was that, no other country really needed one that large because of the amount of water they get, rain, that and also some countries don't have the money for it! you know, the desalination plant in Victoria is much larger than the one in New South Wales, the one there only collects around 25 billion/L per year, while the Victorian one will collect around 150 Billion/L per year,
Did you know that Victoria is also building the world's largest solar power plant, set to be fully operational in 2013, you can Google, 'Solar Power Plant in Victoria'
If the Liberal Party were in office, there wouldn't even be a desalination plant, the labor Government investigated the best location, near the edge of mainland,
The labor Government have already connected all Victoria's dams, with pipelines of around 8.600km (That's just a bit more than building a pipe line from Melbourne to Perth),
