Actually that's not a sleep button on the side. It's called a Programmers Key. It's used sometimes for updating the firmware or debugging the OS. Nice iMac G3.

If The Box is 1998 It Would Not Have iTunes Because iTunes was invented after the first iPod which was in 2001 so the box is at least 2002/2003
