It's weird in high school. I had ONE boyfriend in high school and it was very innocent and brief. I didn't get asked out a lot. When I went to college it was TOTALLY different. What you said about some parents not approving is no doubt one reason, especially in a small town like you described. Also, at your age, a lot of guys fear rejection so much that they don't ask girls out unless the girl makes it very clear that she wants to be asked out. I bump into other I/R couples quite often. It depends where you live. The diversity and the population. Small towns are just very limited lol. Try Philadelphia, NY, New Jersey ect. I run into other I/R all the time in these areas. As far as your family is concerned (I believe you mentioned your family is Nigerian) there is a large Nigerian population in NJ and TX. I think that most guys are afraid of rejection and a lot of white guys feel that black women wont even consider going out with them. I think if you drop them hints or show them you are interested they will approach you if they sense you are interested.
I was rejected by the first few black females i asked out and I had this idea that black females wouldnt even give me the time of day let alone go out with me but I eventually ended up with a very attractive black woman (check out my vids)
