Creative Zen Mozaic Review

I don't really understand why some people are saying that the Zen Mozaic is a really crappy mp3 player. This mp3 player works fine with me (well, it froze on me once but that was long ago). I think creative did a very nice job with this.

I have had this thing for I think 3 years now and it was given to me by a friend and he used to have it before me. It is a really good mp3 and I would recomend this to someone. It is a little bit tricky to control when you first get it but you learn. I love that it has speakers and I just really like it. Nothing too fancy though but oh well.

The Creative Zen Mozaic had a design flaw which creative would never admit to, the screen broke really easily when subjected to very little pressure. Two people I know had exactly the same problem and the number of people on message boards who suffered the same issue points to somewhat more than a coincidence.

@rapstar5845 It comes with a built in speaker, however I don't seem to have the option to turn it on, because the current model has no switch.

It's meant to be in a menu but I cannot find the option, it may have something to do with updating firmware or might be a bug that needs to be looked into.

But while i was reading comments about it, someone told me if you accidently unplug the headphones, the music automaticly plays through the speakers. Dude, it's not "gigabit". It's gigaBYTE. This is the second review I've seen of yours where you make this mistake. Please learn the difference: eight bits makes one byte.

the sound quality is poor, there isn't much bass in the default setting, when you crank the bass the sound LEAVING the unit becomes distorted! thats right, leaving. What i mean is, its not the ear/headphones that can't handle the power, its the damn zen mosaic that is retarded. My previous player was a sony. Excellent sound quality, rich bass. When it broke down i decided to get a shiny new player, this one. Big. Mistake. The speaker is poo also.

There where 2 releases of it there is the first release which was only 2GB and 4GB which was OLED and the new release comes with 2Gb 4GB and 8GB with TFT depending on the stock of the store and where u get it can be either now thought starting 1/09 all releases are majoritly TFT

I bought Zen Micro Photo and then this. Let's see, the FM radio record functionality is gone, Software is big pile of shit where simple tasks like transferring a video are a chore and there is a glitch where if you don't have an album tag on mp3, the player doesn't even list the song in artist section. Well done Creative you managed to degrade a next generation player, which must have taken a team of shitheads to accomplish.
