Most teams would have given up in the situation they were put in. Instead of worrying about coming out on the wrong end of a miracle finish, remember that the Yanks had just come off winning three consecutive titles. Go Yankees AND Diamondbacks. They're both great teams that proved they could win a championship.

I remember in 6th grade, me and 5 other students won a contest to go a see the Diamondbacks play. The game was supposed to be held on 9/11/01 in Phoenix and I got up really early that morning because I was excited but that ended up being one fucked up day.

The Yankees should have won that World Series, not because I'm a Yankee fan, it was just that a New York team needed a win that year in its most iconic sport. Baseball is the most iconic sport, and for what happened that year, I really wanted a New York team to win that one.

Amazing. I am an absolute diehard Yankees fan, and even to this day thinking back to Game 7 makes me cringe.

But I love this opening piece. Besides from the emotion of that time, it really reminds you about the fun and the tradition of the game. Sometimes, winning and losing isn't really important.

Love this intro. I'm a Yankee fan and this series really added to why I love the Yankees, even though they lost. Sometimes it's not about winning, it's about showing heart, which they couldn't have done at a better time.
