  • He also discussed the Cyprus issue during in the same time. Thank you very much Sen. Melendez!! Finally, someone in the Congress who loves the justice and the truth

  • Armenian Genocide will not be recognized simply because you, the reader, are not doing anything about it. If you joined Armenian organization, you would add one more voice to Armenian lobby in US. But since people like you just live their everyday life and do not get involved, Turkish government will continue it's prevention of recognition in US.

  • Bravo to Menendez.

clinton did not even say a yes or no, she is going to try and fuck us, the way her husband did 10 years ago...

  • Unfortunately, Hillary is friends of the Turkish government. She was the Special Guest 1 yr ago at the Turkish American Convention in NYC. Do you really think Ms. Hillary will stand up to Turkish threats, lobbying and their other propaganda machine?

We missed the boat when we didn't include Greek, Armenian and Assyrian with this genocide as so many of their people were slaughtered as well by the butchers of the Ottoman Empire.

  • i hope Obama will recognize the armenian genocide..bc he said so...its time for armenians to be justified and turkey pay!!

  • How can a Country ( Israel ) that have experienct genocide not suport Armenian genocide, Why are they selling heavy weapens to Azeris hellping them in every way. Why?

  • Israily parlament said there is no reason to debate this isue every year( THEY SUPORT TURKS) WOOOOW , I say shame on there goverment. Why do they talk ,produce movies, and remind the world about there genocide.

  • There is a long list of wrongs to set right from the Bush & Co regime. Condoliza Rice spent 20 minutes in early 2007 speaking to a Congressional hearing refusing to admit to an Armenian genocide. She said the US should keep out of the affairs of other countries when it comes to writing their history. Huh? Would she say that about the Holocaust?

  • Armenian Genocide is a historic fact. It has to be recognised. It will be recognised.

We, Russian Armenians, totally support you.

P.s. Thanks to Sen. Menendez on this issue.

  • Turkey needs to unleash the denial of the first 2Oth century genocide for which 1.6 Million Innocent Armenian lives has been committed in the bloody hands of the Turkish Ottoman Empire during the 1915, History should be taught so genocide wont ever repeat again!!!

  • I am armenian and am delighted by Sen. Menendez's question however I am not encouraged by her response. She's too good of a lawyer to provide clarity to an issue that simply demands it

  • Recognition is inevitable. Let's hope that the Obama/Biden administration is the one to do so. Certainly, Messrs. Obama and Biden (and all people of good conscience) recognize the factuality of the Armenian Genocide; but, as one considers the history of this matter, when it comes to an official declaration of recognition, realpolitik always rears its head.

    We'll see....

  • Very delicate issue...any progress is good progress...hopefully they will man up and recognize the genocide!

  • It is such nonsense to continue denying historial facts. I hope Obama and Clinton will put the issue on the front burner and just get it done.

  • Wow it's shocking... I mean America has done some terrible things but it doesn't make this one any less shocking. I will need to find out more about this, when it happened. I would like to think it happened a long time ago and America wouldn't do something like this again but I think it is only restrained by the restraints we put on it and let loose it would control the world by means of debt, coups and wars.

  • The important thing is that America's first international humanitaitian mouvement was the releif society for the near east, which was a movement created to assist the Armenians during the genocide. Therefore, America should be in the forefront of the recognition of the Armenian genocide, not the back seat.

  • Wonderfully outlined by Menendez. How great that Clinton heard this during her nomination!

  • agreed

  • Menendez deserves a great deal of credit for taking up this issue. Bravo!

  • Thanks for sharing, it's progress!!

  • the vagueness of her response was too funny

  • Do the right thing Sen. Clinton. Recognize the Genocide.
