  • @shivator proof or gtfo

  • @avenged7xguitar a start that starts off from momentum rather than a complete stop, so the only person on a relay that wouldn't have the flying start advantage is the starter

  • Does anybody know the name of the nike shoes his wearing in that race?

  • im in 7th and ran a 65 today :)

  • @AustinskaterkidDye13 keep it up bro! You're gonna be fast.

  • doping!

  • i fuckin hate the 400. i more of a 100, 200, 300 type.

  • You never understand the fear of the 400 until you're out there running it. I get nauseous just watching.

  • @getthepoooffmybum so true.

  • @getthepoooffmybum agreed it is one of the scariest things ever!

  • @getthepoooffmybum doping!

  • After seeing this LIVE as a kid? i instantly became the biggest Track & Field fan on earth?

  • 0-100 sec 12 sec for relax

  • 0-100 12sec

  • 0-100 12 sec for relax

  • He ran 46.20 when he was 20 years old. 12 years later he'd cut off 3.02 seconds. Impressive and inspiring.

  • What a great athlete...pure class.

  • omg he makes it look like he's jogging!

  • fastet 400m ever omg he was floating

  • One word...."FORM"....man he perfected that form!

  • Right now as it stands, Kirani James is the only athlete who has a legit shot at breaking MJ's 400m record and i don't see him doing that anytime soon..probably in 10years time

  • @paulushydus And maybe Jerimy Wariner...

  • like how he stands in front of a blank score board at the end

  • I just realized hes wearing a gold watch lmao

  • i'm sure if he did a lean at the end, he would've got a slight slight faster time

  • 0:49 pause he ran 43.1

  • @ThePain223 that's the T.V time, it's not official. he ran 43.18.

  • @ThePain223 6 secs

  • @ThePain223 he ran 43.1 (43.18)

  • @ThePain223 it could of been 43.1 but the time the officials use is accurate to the 100ths of a second

  • Jerome Young should have finished second in this race but clearly he burnt himself out trying to keep up with the great MJ around the last bend!!

  • 11.1, 10.12, 10.44, and 11.52 were his 100m splits... unbelieveable splits!!! :0

  • Looks like they're going so slow, but in your head you know they're fucking booking it.

  • Jeremy Wariner never ran no 42.93 what planet are you on my friend?

  • @djcheff he's talkin about Wariner's anchor in Osaka 07, he split 42.93

  • @phastman1994 OK... Johnson split in 42.9 back in the 93 World Championships...

  • @tosh369 I know..

  • He don't even seem that tired after.

  • All you damn experts can say all you want but ya boy will never beat Micheal!

  • damn, smhhe mde that look to eas lol , all the props to this legend , damn

  • he didn't even look tired after, what a legend!

  • it looked like the guy at 1:31 was looking at his balls.

  • I am proud to be able to say I got him to autograph my VHS(remember those) video tape of his 19.32 200m when he was doing some work for the BBC in Manchester for the Commonwealth Games years ago. I have met and briefly chatted with a living legend. A proper one!

  • He was definitely the best conditioned sprinter EVER. To double in the olympics and run 19.32, after running 43.49 in the 400, truly amazing. That's just pure work ethic and conditioning along with his talent. Maybe Bolt can do a similiar double, but not in those times, no way.

  • Michael Johnson ran 46.29 when he was 20. At 32 years old he breaks the WR! Simply amazing.

    A true legend

  • @MrKarlozz I ran 44 seconds or so when I was 14. Sadly it was over 200m :(

  • @sleeplessinsale probably 300 :b?

  • Michael Johnson is a legend, yet doesn't get the respect he deserves, maybe he will in a few years time when ppl realise just how unbeatable his 400 time really is (and his 200m time was not too shabby either)

  • @bananaminge Anybody who doesn't respect Michael Johnson as a legend is an idiot. His 200m record lasted 13 years. That's insane for a sprint race. His 400m record is now 11 years old and nobody is coming close to breaking it. Maybe Karani James might have a shot considering how young he is, but we'll see.

  • @Antrizzle2009 i dont think he will break it.. he did 46 since he was 14-16, hes 8-19 and he did 44.s thats not alot of improvement but we will in 2012

  • @cruz0969 400 m runners peak later than short sprinters. We still haven't seen the best from James. He's not even in his prime yet. Johnson didn't get to his best till he was in his late 20's.

  • @Antrizzle2009 I DONT RESPECT MICHAEL JOHNSON PERIOD!

  • @ROB6ZOMBIE666

    Are you Carl Lewis :)

  • @ROB6ZOMBIE666 why??? cus he's black?

  • BEST

  • N° 1

  • por que parece que va tan lento? siempre me lo he preguntado, no da sensacion de velocidad. mi atleta favorito. parecia que iba a medio gas. no tenia rival. bolt si tenia rival en 200 para batir el record, su rival era michael johnson!

  • Thank you for the video,i was there!!

  • he broke that record a while back when the 400meter team broke the record for the relay!he ran 42.90, that is the real record and that one will never b broken!

  • @globalsbc MJ anchored 42.91 at the 93 world champs, fastest 4x400m split ever, but that's off a flying start, it doesn't count. It's like saying Powell's 8.70 anchor in Beijing is the real 100m WR.

  • @phastman1994 Well Said!

  • @phastman1994 Very true. Mind you, 42.91 seconds for the 400m is kinda fast ..... even off a "rolling" start !

  • @phastman1994 No, Bob HAYES 8"5, 4*100m in the CINDER'S, faster men in 100m

  • @Boassful thats hand timed bro, Powell has the fastest official split

  • @phastman1994 what's a flying start?

  • @globalsbc Michael Johnson ran 42.91 in the Stuttgart in 1993, Jeremy Wariner ran 42.93 in Osaka in 2007

  • @bossofalltime Yeah Bro Thanks

  • I love how he's wearing his watch

  • i do 400m in london in haringey and i came first i want to be like michael jonshon im i soon uploading on youtube soon

  • @CloiseMusicTv Chase the dream man

  • @Igman2020 oh my bad, yeah your right. I must have read it wrong lol

  • Impressive. If you come to think It's like running four 100 meters below 11 seconds

  • Can't wait to see Kirani James do this.

  • I don't even want to think about how many times I've watched this :o

  • If you were to had that running style, i guarantee your coach would tell you to relax or something seriously he looks so stiff in the upper body when he runs lol

  • @kanyeezys thats why coaches are idiots. They can help you to an extent, but u should never sacrifice ur own style for them. There is a reason they are coaches and not champion athletes.

  • @kanyeezys hes posture is perfekt, hes stuff upper body is 1 of the reasons he was so fast

  • He has a double chin xD

  • @Beowolf8312 was he actually?

  • @mrgoodfight14 nope, there's zero proof MJ doped

  • @phastman1994 Is it still possible? Yes, Balco exposed how "nutritionists" can help. With MJ, the difference is he was so consistent for such a long period, and being that dominant in the 400 unbeaten for 7 years is less indicative he was cheating in my opinion. Unfortunately because of all this scandal, you never know, but no evidence against Johnson. Can't say the same for other US sprinters, who cut their times rapidly (jamaicans, sorry to hate, but it don't feel right) time will tell

  • @TheAngeltoDemon definitely possible, but as we discussed earlier, innocent until proven guilty is always the way I've looked at it.

  • he looks like eddie murphy in this video

  • Athletes are showing respect for what they're doing by undergoing the rigorous training regimens and lifestyle changes to accommodate being elite athletes. But at the end of the day, they are competing, and when all physical attributes are nearly even, one often needs an edge to come out on top -- this is where the psychology of clowning and trash-talking comes in. Some people use trash-talk and clowning to fuel themselves, and others are fueled by it -- it's a win win for athletes and fans.

  • Michael Johnson would have ran under 43 easily if he would have fixed his anterior pelvic tilt

  • @Z4N30 If you're referring to his upright form, that actually was more efficient than the conventional running style; while the other runners are swaying back and forth, slowly losing ground to him, Michael's upper body is unmoving.

  • @AlmightyShiz

I don't think you know what anterior pelvic tilt does.

Michael was strong, and therefore was able to keep his upper body from going side to side, but APT causes your back, hip flexors and Quads to take over and turns off your butt muscles and produces alot of backside mechanics.

essentially he ran these times using no Glute strength, only Quads, Hams (stretched out weak hams).

This is why he can never get his knees above 70ish degrees.

  • @AlmightyShiz

And if you notice, this causes him to have the "Sway Back" stature, much like hes sticking his butt and chest out on purpose.

I have the same problem and i am getting it fixed at the moment.

  • @phastman1994 Yes...

  • I wonder what time Usain Bolt could get at 400m because this WR is fucking insane. I would like to see if a human can possibly run faster than this...

  • @xMex93x : I believe 45.9 is his best.

  • @xMex93x usian bolt ran 45.28 last year... tyson gay is the only athlete to run top times in all 3 events.. 100. 9.69, 200 19.58 and 400 44.89

  • superman flies again lol

  • just at abt 39 secs i want you to check out 3 dudes on the up left fighting for number 2 with their lives hahahahahahaha its so hilarious

  • favorite athlete ever

  • watch it in 240 pixels it looks like he's running with barefeet.

  • Greatest Long Distance Sprinter Ever....200 only bolt has ran faster...400m: No One has broke it yet.

  • GREATEST EVER

  • HOW IS HE STILL STANDING AFTER THAT??????

  • I like that rolex hes rockin lol

  • i dunno if its just me, but at :40 it looks like forrest gump running

  • Glad the Main Man beat that Druggie Cheat's record. What an athlete Johnson ws. He is on BBC TV for major events and is wonderfully insightful. Class act and genuine sporting hero.

  • I run 400 under 15 but the annoying thing thing is every time I run after I'm always sick :( don't know what I can do to stop that

  • how come he can still walk????!!!!!!

  • 400m is sooo hard :0 how come he can still work

  • @6stephen3 : are you kidding me??? Bolt can't even break 45. His fastest is 45.92. He might DREAM about breaking this WR, but not in reality...EVER.

  • @cobrien1977 Bolt's PB is actually 45.28, I honestly doubt he'll ever lower MJ's 43.18 but I can see him going sub 44 with serious speedendurance 400m training.

  • @phastman1994 : I'll take that bet anyday (that Bolt will break 44).

  • @phastman1994 : ok so now you agree he'll never touch MJ? agreed. 2 seconds in the 400 is an ETERNITY to make up -- it would be like only being able to run 10.0 seconds in the 100 and thinking you can somehow get down to 9.5

  • @cobrien1977 Bolt's 45.28 doesn't mean much IMO, he ran an early season 43.58s anchor last year in Jamaica (off a flying start but it would still be well under 45 in the open 400m), along with his 30.97s 300m in poor conditions. Bolt can defitely go sub 44 with 400m training. I don't think he'll break 43.18 but I won't say it's impossible.

  • @phastman1994 : well I have no idea what a flying 400m converts to in terms of a standing start 400m but I'm sure you have to add at least 0.2 seconds if not more.

  • @cobrien1977 yeah, I guess that would depend on how good the hand-off is. But even if it was a full second, thats still a 44.6s 400m very early in the season.

  • Anyone here run track and are a 400M runner? gahh I hate it :P The only way you know you ran a good 400 is when your legs are burning to much for you to walk back up the bleachers to sit with your team...

  • @iEod89 lol yep I'm a 200m/400m sprinter, that lactic acid after a 400m is killer

  • i run with the same spikes !!! THEY ARE GREAT!

  • @6stephen3 not saying MJ's performance center isn't good though, but at the level Bolt's at, I think he already has the training available.

  • @6stephen3 Agreed. But with 400m coaches like Bert Cameron, idk if Bolt will need MJ's performance center, just the motivation to step up to the 400m IMO.

  • In 11 years only ONE dude has come within THREE tenths?

    MJ = Secretariat

  • RESPECT to Johnson.

Any man who can break world records and during all the celebrations can still find a few moments to pray has my praise.

  • mémorable! je l'ai vu en direct!!

  • I wanna see this record go because it's such a good record that you think won't ever go... It's like his 200m record that no one thought would ever go but we all know what happened to that :-) imagine if bolt got this record also he would without a doubt be the greatest athlete to have ever walked the earth. 100m,200m,4x100m,400m and maybe the long jump record :-)

  • MJ always raced the clock everyone else raced for 2nd place! Lol

  • @phastman1994 Im playing hommie :)

  • @BrotherSkillz Aight lol

  • That is one of the best records of all time in my eyes.

  • @phastman1994 na man it was not it was Michael :D

  • wasnt he on drugs :))

  • The amazing thing is that he's not even tired after the race is over. The other runners are wiped out, laying on the ground and out of breath.

  • jhonson love u so much 11 long years the record is still unbroken.............

  • THANK YOU!! this is the best vid uploaded for this race! i got tired of seein that same ol "sky view" vid! nobody wanna watch a race like they ina plane lol! thanx for the vid bro!

  • Thank you man, thanks for the vids of MJ!

  • Love the way Johnson ran that 400. No bullshit, no clowning, just attack.

  • @beebeechitown I feel what you're saying, but ultimately, it's all about putting oneself in the best position to perform at optimum level for the race. Some people have to clown to get themselves psychologically ready for attacking races, which I don't see much of a problem with.

  • @prom3theus2k2 Clowning ultimately leads to getting clowned (i.e. Usain). These athletes need to show couth and respect for what they are doing. Sprinters do not have a long lifeline.

  • @spartan0404 It's not like Bolt disrespects his competitors on the track, he's just being himself, he knows the fans love it and he knows it helps him stay relaxed before a race, there's nothing wrong with a little clowning when ur the best in the world.

  • @phastman1994 It may not appear to be taunting, but it is still a little disrespectful and if you asked other runners they may agree with me on this one. He needs to learn humility. It's reminiscent of football players acting foolish after a touchdown.

  • @beebeechitown personally for me if i clown before a 100, i get a better time,but in the 200 and above i don't bs it

  • @phastman1994 Haven't seen this in years...fucking wow!!!

  • Kaczka ;D! MJ is the best!

  • Lol at :55 it looks like the two runners in the background are bowing down to MJ.

  • nice phastman, could be part of a future mj mix.lol.

  • @ibsprintin Ha thanks and no prob, feel free to use it 4 ur mixes bro!

  • thanks for bid, nice quality too :)
