@Primeda the 98 was the rifle used by hitler in ww1, the 98k wasnt developed until right before ww2. The 98k is a slightly updated, shorter version of the 98. its says right here in the video. k stands for Karabiner or carbine.
Wrong your thinking the G98 which was a long rifle. The Kar98k was developed in the 30's and adopted by the vermacht in 35. Lots of G98 were converted to Kar98k's though.
@dekool88 The Lee may have a ten round Box but ,once, you have fired ten it takes five round stripper clips , the early one's did not , the British suffered in the Boer War , because the Boers used Mausers , firing the five shot clip ,, and they could load faster,,
Interesting to note this show avoided mentioning WHY the Mauser company took over production of the Luger gun from it's parent company in the 1930's: said company was owned by Jews. I guess they didn't want to soil the Mauser worshiping by pointing out the company benefited from Nazi anti-Semitism.
Its really called a Charger. A strip Clip is what a Garand rifle use, which is a working functioning part of the rifle, and pops out after the last shot.
@HistoryHmoobGuy Books aren't always correct. As much as I hate to cite it, Wikipedia is quite clear. Enbloc clips become a functional part of the magazine when installed, but stripper (US) or charger (UK) clips are used to load the magazine, of which they are not a part. Look an a Garand clip -- the rounded ends are the mag lips, whereas a charger/stripper for a Lee Enfield, Mosin Nagant, SKS etc. just has the minimal lips needed to stop the cartridges falling out in your pouch.
@HistoryHmoobGuy Sorry, but @lordsummerisle87 is correct. A "stripper clip" is used to quickly "strip" rounds off the clip and into the magazine. Clips hold individual rounds prior to being loaded into a magazine and are discarded afterwards. En Bloc clips stay with the rounds as it's loaded into the magazine and are discarded after the last round has been fired or loaded.
@dekool88 The higher end hunting mausers had a double set trigger for big game hunting. your first trigger preloaded pressure for the second trigger, making the trigger pull very, VERY light.

this rifle is idiot proof.... and here is an example of an idiot... 5:56

i would've beaten the lee enfield if hitler actually decided to give the G98/Kar98k a 10-round magazine
dekool88 1 month ago
@dekool88 The 98k was around way before Hitler was in power. It's the rifle he used in WW1.

@TheLastBrainLeft Not quite. DWM at the time owned both Mauser and the Pistol Parabellum ('Luger Pistol').

Mauser's work was all cut out for him, he only put 2 and 2 together.
The Dreyse needle rifle was simply married up with modern reciever production and the metallic cartridges of Mauser's own generation.
The most perfected Mauser is the US Rifle 1903 30-06. It has more features than any bolt action ever made. Last people to disagree died in 1918.

@HistoryHmoobGuy No, the M1 (Garand) rifle uses an enbloc clip. 'Stripper clip' is perfectly correct for the Mauser, Lee Enfield, Mosin Nagant etc.

I did not know that the gun had doubles set trigger! What is the purpose of the double set trigger?
isamtator 3 months ago
@isamtator the trigger in the back is actually for the release of the magazine (for field stripping?)
it can also be found in mozin-nagat

The Germans sold it too cheap after all.

@Assaultwarfare Because they they had the best action and could be reloaded faster and had more accuracy than the lever-action repeaters of the time.
