no body complains when ferrari kept winning ,wots up with brawn doing so nothings fixed!!! there just doing a better job than any one else ,soooo nothings fixed, come on brawn and jenson
Its sad that F1 is now fixed so that Brawn can win...just because Ross Brawn is good friends with the owner of F1, he gets to have the fastest car....im currently boycotting F1, im sick of corruption within the sport...especially last season, when they tried to destroy Lewis Hamiltons chances at every opportunity, unsuccessfully
What? Toyota, Williams & Brawn have the diffuser which was declared LEGAL. It's the sole reason other teams are developing double deck diffusers now. The other teams stuffed up basically. Also, the Honda was 'born bad' in 2008 so they stopped developing it very early on in the season to concentrate on the '09 car. This is the result we're now seeing. It's got absolutely nothing to do with Brawn's relationship with anyone. You're way off the mark with your comments but thanks for posting - Max
Bran will win this time because there are the conditions,Mosley wants that Button and Brawn will win this world championship. Alle we can see that there is something corrupted. Why now 44ml. budget? The date for subscribing to 2010 was in NOVEMBER,now it's 29 may.
Diffusor are not wrong, but it's not casually that WILLIAMS,and Brawn GP made it. Toyota just used the technology,Williams has been informated from M.Mosley, and Brawn made a car 2 years with M.Mosley collaboration. Simple.
Brawn did a good job. Wherever he worked, he always did. He worked for Ferrari years ago and designed a great car, driven by Schumi. It's no matter of diffusers only, it's not his personal war against Ferrari, infact many other teams complained bout it. If there might be something to complain, it could be the FIA and their stupid rules, which most of the times are confusing. Gj Brawn.
Ferrari are just pissed they didn't think of it first, and they have ALWAYS complained when they aren't winning.. I have zero sympathy for them, and I hope it takes them a very long time to catch up, it's mostly teams like Ferrari that put the others out of business.. Spending 10 times the budget on their cars than normal teams so I again have no sympathy for them. Other teams are winning now DEAL WITH IT FERRARI FANS!
i am a big ferrari fan and i cannot see ferrari losing like this!!! Its a shame that a team like ferrari ,with al that experience (58 years of f1) losses from new teams like brawn. The brawn, toyota and williams diffuser is illegal to becouse they brake the fia rule that says that you must produce 50 procent less down force than the 08 championschip!! With their diffuser they are onley making 30 procent less downforce, wich results in much quicker laptimes than other teams.
Trust me, it can be a lot worst. Ferrari went over 50 races between 91 and 94 before they won a race. Ferrari lost to team like Matra and Tyrrell were new teams at the time in 69, 71, and 73. Just because a team has been around for a long time doesn't mean automatic success. This season is not as unfair as you can imagine with the diffuser problem, Williams Renault in 1992-1993 ran on average 2-3 seconds a lap faster than Ayrton Senna, the rest of the field were 4-7 seconds slower.
sth is not going good with this car....imba or sth like that....many say doesnt meet criteria and is much better than the others , maybe fia should check them once again :P
i am mclaren fun and i cant believe that mclaren or ferrari hasnt got good cars or good drivers....brawn mercedes is good and new...but its like renault...they will win one or two champions and then its over....mclaren and ferrari are the best teams at formula1 all these years and they will no loose their titles from rookies.....
me too, i'm a mclaren fan and share the same thoughts with you. . . maybe it's because of the new regulations on the design. and maybe it got to the point that the teams just gets lucky to what design is the best.
brawn got lucky and got the right choice of engine. . . i wonder how the honda corp. feels right now. hmmnn. . .
rookies the mclaren and ferrari drivers still have their mothers tit milk around their mouth compared to the experience of button and barichello im not dissing any of them they are good drivers but the brawn drivers are too experienced to let the ttitle slip away trulli may be a tough nut to crack too
Hamilton & Massa would wipe the floor with them if they had equal performance cars...F1 is totally corrupt and Bernie needs a punch, the old aged corrupt racist should retire, he is ruining the sport
button is reaping the success of brawns car. he will always be a below average driver. after 8 years, he wins just 1 race, and suddenly wins 2 in a row, bit of a coincidence. Imagine if hamilton was driving the brawn car, he'd lap 2nd place lol.
No, he screwed up dumping Williams- no top team would touch him after that and he was stuck in limbo. He is a v good driver in the same vein as A Prost and maybe not the best at overtaking but will always win from the front
Yep, of course Ferrari will be a force this season. Dominant, not sure yet but probably. But in my eyes as in many others Ross Brawn is genius and more power to his elbow! Button? After so many years "underperforming" we'll see. Rubens? Yeah, love him! The car? Like all others looks strage but we'll get used to it. Love the colours. Mercedes? Works well so far. Cosworth will at some time be coming back with a screamer. Watch this space. Ross and the team, good luck, you deserve it.
Im glad button has got a decent car and team behind him. I always felt sorry for him and he never slags off anyone or complains like alonso and massa. There is still a long way to go in terms of whos going to win it, good luck brawn !!!
@NirajCFC It's nothing personal, I just hate the whole "I'm Going To Capitalize Every Word" thing. I agree with you on the Button front- he's always been my favourite driver purely because of his style.
Brawn GP did a great job Sunday, they look like serious contenders for the title, but Red Bull is showing great progress as well. I can't wait till Sunday.
If last grand prix was anything to go by that is! However, Ferrari do have the money to develop the car - Brawn does not, but who knows, maybe Brawn didn't show their full pace in melbourne?
brawn gp apparently has the best diffuser design which some think is their secret to success. vettel in his red bull found pace and button wasnt really pulling away from him until vettel had graining in the end on the super softs so watch out for red bull. everyone is still experimenting with aero and its only one race in so its still anyones game but good job to brawn gp so far
I'm not surprised mate, they flew. Red Bull have a lot to be encouraged about too which is great. I think the non-KERS teams with the rad-diffusers will murder Sepang (with the 2 long straights). Eitherway, roll on Friday practice!! - Max
p.s: Why hasn't anyone come up with the smart arse term Wan-KERS yet?!!!
nice going with a mclaren engine. showed the guys from mclaren their experience and motivation. great great win 1-2. also complimants to Jarno Trulli. the most experienced drivers on the podium. WELL DONE
what did i tell you not only did button get the win but barrichello got 2nd, dream start, withhamilton deservedly comming in 3rd. wait for the next race for my prediction. if the season continues like this we'll be in for a goodun.
I love how they're already ripping Merc a new one! Red Bull from the way Vettel was racing today look to do the same to Renault! This is great, no Ferrari/Merc domination!
a well born car , a faster driver ´´ button´´ , a experience and fast driver ´´ rubens´´ , a hell of a boss , great crew , mike gascoyne rocks , so let s rock and roll fellas , and rock n roll is something that you britons are the best ... cheers for you all from brasil - sao paulo .
sponsor : could be a giant of a whisky manufacturer as jim beam or jack daniels , i think both of them would love to compete each other against johnnie walker , hug for you all
tnralliart2600 - There's absolutely nothing wrong with Rubens. He totally outperformed Jenson last season, and he's a proven race winner. He's also at times, very very fast. As for the Brawn car, it's definately the best shape out there and actually looks like they have a race winner.
I never said Rubens was bad; I think he was the best choice alongside Button. IMO Button is the better driver but was struggling for motivation in 2008, while Barichello was racing to keep his seat. Rubens' best asset right now is his experience which would be valuable to either Brawn or USGPE. But let's be honest, he's not getting any younger while Button is of prime championship-winning age. But like I said, I'd rather see di Grassi get the seat than Senna.
Ross Brawn should have taken senna jr, he has sponsors with him, embratel and petrobras I think, some much needed cash to develop the Brawn Mercedes Car, mind you, Rubens can do the leg work first developing the brawn and then senna jr wins races afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Senna doesnt have many sponsors behind him. Petrobras for example denied that they would sponsor him in F1, eventhough Fry said they would. plus his salary would be much higher than Barichelo who is now racing almost for free. i think now Rubens is the better option.
Pos Driver Team Time Laps 1. Rubens Barrichello Brawn GP 1:18.926 110 2. Nico Rosberg Williams 1:19.774 120 3. Timo Glock Toyota 1:20.091 128 4. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull 1:20.576 83 5. Fernando Alonso Renault 1:20.664 64 6. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:20.677 92 7. Robert Kubica BMW 1:20.740 134 8. Lewis Hamilton McLaren 1:20.869 70 9. Sebastien Buemi Toro Rosso 1:21.013 62 10. Giancarlo Fisichella Force India 1:21.045 141 11. Sebastien Bourdais Toro Rosso 1:21.629 27
Although the Brawn was top of the testing earlier this week its important for the team and the drivers to not get into dreamland so early. They clearly have a fast car, and in my opinion a good driver line-up. Lets hope there testing results caught the eye of some potential long term sponsors and gives the team some much needed confidence. They still have alot of hard work to do but i wish them the best. Max, pep you guys are the best! i would love to see a M&PGP!!!!
I believe Brawn did a very good job in acquiring this honda team,, Imagine what he can now do,, a chasis based from ferrari and an engine based from mercedez,, wow,, what a combination,, what a high breed,,, and i'm sure this will make a history starting in australia.. So watch out peeps...lets put the pedal to the metal,,, Vrooooommmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
I really think barrichello should of been a test driver and the team should of signed Senna...imagine if there on the podium on there 1st race..poor honda! haha
my father wanted to put his company logo on the 2000 jordan car (front wing on the side) $3m for the season of what i think was 17 races, the logo was 8'' wide and 2'' tall. so alot. i couldnt imagine how much the major sponsors nowadays would pump out?
I'll still be pulling for my 4 faves, but I think it would be good fun to see Rubens take the WDC. Especially if he gets up on the podium and dances and sings "Schumi's gay, Schumi's gay" ;o)
Car: Very free-flowing, no awkwardness, nicely packaged.
Livery: Too soon to tell!
Engine: This is an unfair advantage. Mercedes can achieve 3 times the mileage compared to an exclusive 1 team engine supplier (i.e. BMW) under current test restrictions.
Drivers: Both provide great knowledge and experience, while working well together. Great for a new team, but will need more competitive and younger drivers in the future.
Staff: Fry has been confirmed. I'm not a fan of Gascoyne.
100% correct mate. Have been impressed with Brawn GP in the little we've seen of them. Pep & I are filming a new 'cast today so will discuss this and a whole lot more. - Max
As far as I know they are still allowed to make engine developments purely (or at least with the dominant purpose) for simply improving reliability. Because Bernie doesn't want to see cars constantly DNFing if it's fixable. It's because of that loophole McLaren ended the season with 30bhp or whatever more than they started with.
both drivers deserve all the success they can get. Imagine if Rubens won the championship. He came ever so close to his career being over and now could have a contender under his bum. What a off season its been.
Nice to see that Button and Barri has a good car, Jenson topped the times on Day 3 testing with 1:19.127, 1 second faster than Massa. I hope it carries onto the first race.
The shape of the chassis is really really nice, but the livery needs work, at present it looks like a slightly underfunded GP2 team, but i imagine more sponsers and a proper look will be in place for Melbourne. Roll on F1 2009!
The shape of the car looks beautifull by the way, possibly the nicest on the grid. The livery needs a revamp but i would like to see them stick with a mostly white theme.
Also, you guys are obviously heading to the Oz gp?
Its such a shame they missed out on so much testing. Ross beleived they had a rocket of a car on their hands before the 09 testing began.
It was a poor move by honda to cease all testing. I mean, a team that was on track with its most important pre season teasting would look much more appealing to potential buyers. It could have been possible to purchase a ready made winning team. I dont like the chances now
Well, i'm a genuine Ferrari Tifosi. But i want to congratulate Brawn for staying in the F1 and i wish him good luck this season.....Ross....good job....too bad we're not going to see a Senna in the F1. But, on the other hand, Rubenio has heaps of experience...
If anyone hasnt seen the FOTA press release of 05 March, please do have a look. Very good stuff. If it goes ahead the scoring system will be 12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1.
I think Rubens will do a good job, and if he does well this season dont bet against him racing next season for USF1!!! Jenson's career, bar for an unexpected turn of events, is over, which is good, since the guy really never impressed me. Never did he fully dominate a team mate, which is pre requirement among the top drivers.
Rubens scored 11 points to Jenson's 6 in 2008. Barrichelo also out qualified his team mate 10 to 8 in 2008. All of that from an old and slow driver heh?
congratulations to the team on very well earned win(s). we have not seen results like this from a new team in decades.

Button for 2009 formula one world champion!
jamiroquai01fan 2 years ago
Car - The 2009 cars are all awful, so it's not important (colors are good, I use yellow-black in PES' ML)
Engine - It is only a good choice
Drivers - Barrichello is the best, for the past 3 years he couldn't show himself because he had a bicicle...
Staff - Ross Brawn is the best and will win the championship!
Sponsorship - Who cares? (Brawn of course)
I hope Barrichello will eventually win the Driver Championship!!! He deserves it!

Car - Looks good, been performing well in testing, not sure about the fluorescent stripe, needs some sponsor logos
Engine - Merc, Ferrari, Toyota or Renault were the only options, Merc should be a good choice if the aero works
Drivers - Jensen and Rubens are safe pairs of hands, pity there was no room for Bruno, next year maybe?
Staff - Mike would be a good choice, if he gets on with Ross
Sponsorship - Anyone with money, hard call these days
And finally - I'm supporting Brawn GP in 2009

sponsor : could be a giant of a whisky manufacturer as jim beam or jack daniels , i think both of them would love to compete each other against johnnie walker , hug for you all

tnralliart2600 - There's absolutely nothing wrong with Rubens. He totally outperformed Jenson last season, and he's a proven race winner. He's also at times, very very fast. As for the Brawn car, it's definately the best shape out there and actually looks like they have a race winner.
weallfollowmanutd 3 years ago 2
I never said Rubens was bad; I think he was the best choice alongside Button. IMO Button is the better driver but was struggling for motivation in 2008, while Barichello was racing to keep his seat. Rubens' best asset right now is his experience which would be valuable to either Brawn or USGPE. But let's be honest, he's not getting any younger while Button is of prime championship-winning age. But like I said, I'd rather see di Grassi get the seat than Senna.

1. Shape and livery are awesome but they need sponsors (see 5).
2. I don't think it's a problem, I just hope the engine is still good and they prove that McLaren still cannot make consistently fast chassis.
3. Jenson is a good choice and Rubens is good for a year; get di Grassi in 2010 and let USGPE have Rubens.
4. Fry is still CEO, and I hope Gascoyne isn't on board (he's an overrated twat).
5. They cannot make Honda's mistake again - rumour has it it'll be an online betting co.
6. Great!
tnralliart2600 3 years ago

Ross Brawn should have taken senna jr, he has sponsors with him, embratel and petrobras I think, some much needed cash to develop the Brawn Mercedes Car, mind you, Rubens can do the leg work first developing the brawn and then senna jr wins races afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BetterthanSchuey 3 years ago
Senna doesnt have many sponsors behind him. Petrobras for example denied that they would sponsor him in F1, eventhough Fry said they would. plus his salary would be much higher than Barichelo who is now racing almost for free. i think now Rubens is the better option.

So watch out peeps...lets put the pedal to the metal,,, Vrooooommmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
mannabungaw 3 years ago
the best combination is a chasis from Ferrari and an engine from Ferrari.
vjanik 3 years ago
1. I think it looks good, and i really like the simple but cool paint job
2. No its not, its a lot with only 20 cars you could almost say the same thing as Ferrari
3. Its a good start... but they should have taken Senna, and next year they should get some younger talent
4. I don't Know
5. Anyone will help... but to start something small like a small electric company of phone service
6. THEY WILL BE GOOD Ferrari BMW, and Mclaren... even though they aren't looking good, should watch out!

Stuart7744 3 years ago
I'll still be pulling for my 4 faves, but I think it would be good fun to see Rubens take the WDC. Especially if he gets up on the podium and dances and sings "Schumi's gay, Schumi's gay" ;o)
PulverizerA 3 years ago 2
Car: Very free-flowing, no awkwardness, nicely packaged.
Livery: Too soon to tell!
Engine: This is an unfair advantage. Mercedes can achieve 3 times the mileage compared to an exclusive 1 team engine supplier (i.e. BMW) under current test restrictions.
Drivers: Both provide great knowledge and experience, while working well together. Great for a new team, but will need more competitive and younger drivers in the future.
Staff: Fry has been confirmed. I'm not a fan of Gascoyne.
candal82 3 years ago
Engine development is frozen man, doesnt matter how much mileage Mercedes gets, they are not allowed to develop the damn thing!
gir745 3 years ago
100% correct mate. Have been impressed with Brawn GP in the little we've seen of them. Pep & I are filming a new 'cast today so will discuss this and a whole lot more. - Max
F1Podcast 3 years ago
As far as I know they are still allowed to make engine developments purely (or at least with the dominant purpose) for simply improving reliability. Because Bernie doesn't want to see cars constantly DNFing if it's fixable. It's because of that loophole McLaren ended the season with 30bhp or whatever more than they started with.
tnralliart2600 3 years ago
greek tragedy in the making or not, I can't get over how quick the little bugger is. I really hope they win in Melbourne and rub Honda's nose in it!
beeDUB75 3 years ago
both drivers deserve all the success they can get. Imagine if Rubens won the championship. He came ever so close to his career being over and now could have a contender under his bum. What a off season its been.

Hey Ross, I would like to work at Brawn GP! Is there any chance?
maurotozzi1972 3 years ago
Nice to see that Button and Barri has a good car, Jenson topped the times on Day 3 testing with 1:19.127, 1 second faster than Massa. I hope it carries onto the first race.

I agree, I think most fans will be routing for Brawn GP regardless of their useual preferred teams. Go BRAWN!
kirbster1977 3 years ago
The shape of the chassis is really really nice, but the livery needs work, at present it looks like a slightly underfunded GP2 team, but i imagine more sponsers and a proper look will be in place for Melbourne. Roll on F1 2009!
JontieDesario 3 years ago
The shape of the car looks beautifull by the way, possibly the nicest on the grid. The livery needs a revamp but i would like to see them stick with a mostly white theme.
Also, you guys are obviously heading to the Oz gp?
chickenmankel 3 years ago
Its such a shame they missed out on so much testing. Ross beleived they had a rocket of a car on their hands before the 09 testing began.
It was a poor move by honda to cease all testing. I mean, a team that was on track with its most important pre season teasting would look much more appealing to potential buyers. It could have been possible to purchase a ready made winning team. I dont like the chances now
chickenmankel 3 years ago
so, so sorry again mates. must read full instructions before comments.

fastest in the morning test at barcelona. textbook. it's a new car, not a carry over!!!
honda and bernie are the main sponsors, so to spk, . next yr they'll need big sponsors when honda leave for good.
sidnyeli1 3 years ago
1) Love the shape, one of nicest in the field. As for the livery...meh.
2) Merc engine, rock solid reliabilty, good deal.
3) Wanted to see Senna but Rubens deserves a proper send off (surely this is his last year in f1).
4) Fry - no opinion really.
5) Sponsor - Virgin would be perfect. Branson wants to get into the sport, might be a good place to start...
6) Hopefully by mid season they'll be scoring regular points. I'll defo be rooting for Brawn this year (along with Williams).
joeconsiglio 3 years ago
1 Looks like a nude Williams - that aint bad though the livery is a little dull
2 Not a stretch for Merc, the contrary if anything
3 Not entirely surprised - Bruno may need a little longer in a T car
4 Gazza seems to be a disaster wherever he goes despite being brilliant
5 God knows - Maccas? Coke? Just read someone said Virgin - best one I've heard.
6 Really hope it works but has all the ingredients of greek tragedy to me
beeDUB75 3 years ago
Car - Looks good. Something is better than nothing.
Engine - Great move. Improved testing from using 3 teams and should improve reliability and development.
Drivers - Most sensible option for now.
Staff - Gasycone and Brawn. UK's best GP brains? Great move if it's true.
Sponsor - Virgin would be an inspired move for both team and sponsor.
Overall seems very brave thing to do at the minute but could be the greatest independent since Tyrrell.
RetroCarsKeighley 3 years ago
Engine development has been frozen untill 2013
gir745 3 years ago
Sponsors??? VIRGIN!! :P
i think it would be a good investment on virgin to first have a team run by a genius and buy him out when the market instability is sound...
Those Front Wing Semi-inverted endplates look radical. :)
bidong 3 years ago
1/ Car looks good, no doubt Ross & co know their shit. Been in the works a long time, hopefully engine integrates well.
2/ Merc engine as good as any other, proven reliability.
3/ Rubens & Button are a good combo, but this is surely the last year for Rubens
4/ From what I understand losing Fry may not be such a bad thing, once again im sure Ross knows what he's doing
5/ Im sure they'll dig up what they need
6/ I fear theyve gone from potential race winner to midfield though in their situation
muddwell 3 years ago
Well, i'm a genuine Ferrari Tifosi. But i want to congratulate Brawn for staying in the F1 and i wish him good luck this season.....Ross....good job....too bad we're not going to see a Senna in the F1. But, on the other hand, Rubenio has heaps of experience...
Delveaux 3 years ago
If anyone hasnt seen the FOTA press release of 05 March, please do have a look. Very good stuff. If it goes ahead the scoring system will be 12-9-7-5-4-3-2-1.
gir745 3 years ago
I think Rubens will do a good job, and if he does well this season dont bet against him racing next season for USF1!!! Jenson's career, bar for an unexpected turn of events, is over, which is good, since the guy really never impressed me. Never did he fully dominate a team mate, which is pre requirement among the top drivers.
gir745 3 years ago
Rubens is too old and too slow now.
ericambrosecoon 3 years ago
Rubens scored 11 points to Jenson's 6 in 2008. Barrichelo also out qualified his team mate 10 to 8 in 2008. All of that from an old and slow driver heh?
gir745 3 years ago 3
Agreed. I'll say it once more so the slow can read
Barrichello & Senna :)
TheRealJakeKool 3 years ago
I like that. Barrichello provides the experience and Senna the new blood. It can only help to bring sponsors in with that name in the car.
gir745 3 years ago
And Rubens got a podium!
dmc1200 3 years ago
At last Button Back I have a feeling that this year will be very good!
