I have the same problem. I can not make it go to DFU, actualy if I connect it just with the USB without power cord my device has power at all. The LED light is off and my Macbook doesn't see it. Any sugestions?

Dude I've jailbroken my Apple TV before and installed PLEX, maybe you already know about this jailbroken App, but I highly recommend you make a video for all of your subscribers on how PLEX works (and its benefits) and how to install it, I have no idea if it is easier to install now days, before it was a little bit tricky but you might enjoy this tweek as well as your fans (I recommend using it with a Wireless N or above network, ). Tethered jb is not bad on apple tv 2g the only time you do a tethered jb is if you unplug it. If it sleeps on it's own or you put it to sleep you will not have to re jb.

plex has to be the best app to get once you jailbreak! it enables you to stream pretty much any multimedia from your mac including avi! so you don't have to convert everything to mp4 which can be really annoying!
