@Antrizzle2009 There is a difference alright. Her Irish accent on the show isn't that great actually. Its sounds alot more 'Hollywood Oirish' than normal Irish.

Which is odd because she has done an Irish accent before, in a film called intermission, and it was actually very convincing if I recall correctly.

@roryphelan Is it possible that she's playing it as a person that is an Irish immigrant that has lived in America for quite some time so her accent may have been altered over time? Therefore her accent might sound slightly different than a native? I don't know the language well enough to be able to tell the difference, just a thought tho.

@Antrizzle2009 I have my doubts, but i've never been to America so I can't say no for sure.

My hunch is no, because she has no hint of an American twang to her accent (I have a few relatives with that), and her style of accent is similar to the 'Oirish' accents that a lot of American film and tv have showcased in the past (as in for characters who are actually from Ireland, not Irish American).
