  • Thanks mate. I got it. Works good I got my trike up to 45 mph today down hill.

  • what kinda glue did you use mate??????

  • @micahwfmh wood glue the inserts are made from mdf

  • @sscustoms100 good thing to note that mdf is more dense than regular wood so it'll wear the blade down much faster

  • @sscustoms100 thank you put i have already got them done.i used 3/4 ply for the insert's.and spaced them apart with a spacers then used foam seal to squart in to the empty space.... it works great i went 45 mph down a hill today and it work awesome

  • You don't need a mask to cut wood

  • @MegaCoolshot its mdf not wood. mdf is pretty much sawdust and glue, so the glue dust isn't that great for you if you inhale it

  • Where can you buy new wheels from?

  • like it dude, like it a lot!

just waiting for the craze to catch on over here in the UK...

also, your roads seem to be a lot smoother than ours, our wheels get chewed up pretty quick, so we have some heavy duty gas pipe cut down over pneumatic wheels... works ok, apart from the wobble coz its hard to center the wheel in the tube!!

  • @MiniRon1982 thanks matey yeah some off our roads are smoother

thanks for watching be sure to subscribe

    sam

  • you could put spray foam in the inside of the wheel ?

  • but cant the wood fall out?

  • @zakokiller As long as its a good snug fit you shouldn't have to worry about it falling out, but glue is suggested. The way the wood is cut is the most important thing.

  • just wondering do u think that the homemade wheels last longer than bought ones?

  • @bunykiller1 nah id say the bought ones will last longer but for 5 bucks or less cant complain

  • Is the wood glued to the PVC? If not how does it stay in. Also do u lubricate the axel into the steel rod? If not then then the friction must melt the rod.

  • @epicfailfailure yeah its glued inn but it was a snug fit

  • @epicfailfailure I agree, the whole design is great and simple but the friction between the axel and the steel rod will create some drag. Is there any way to fit bearings in there?

  • my cat is eating grass

  • good job! i just approved the vid response

  • I know it's glued. Still a lot of sideways force on it while drifting. Might break.

  • The people form the D-trikes website make them from a blow up tire inside some pvc. but this works pre well, nice work mate!

  • That wood will probably separate first corner. Be careful man.

  • @brendonv101 will do im happy as long as get some runs out of it not mention in the video but its glued in not just push fited in

    cheers sam

  • safety first _ nans glasses and a tea towel :P

  • @NFORSA hahah

  • AWESOME!

  • could u make a video on how to make the rear axle please

  • @timdog161 theres differant ways to do it and it aslo depends on wat material your using box tube or pipe

    what are you using?

  • @sscustoms100 i was thinking of using a threaded rod

  • @timdog161 yeah works well but i mean frame material box tube or round pipe .or do you already have a frame ?

  • @sscustoms100 well iv got a small bike frame but it mite not work

  • @timdog161 well your off to a good start you can use the bike to set up the front end

  • @sscustoms100 i mite use my bmx frame wen i get my new bike

  • @timdog161 just get a bit of steel pipe and use it as an axle, you can use threaded rod or thread the ends and put a bolt on and make some spacers for between the bike and wheel if you dont want to weld shit on.

How did you wheels hold up @sscustoms100
