  • you should definitively do some more of these videos...

  • I'm adopting a black lab soon. Would love to see your training videos:)

  • we take our dog for a walk 3 times a day, she lives with us inside the house, she even goes on vacation with us. She really is part of our family. In about 3 hours my dog will be back from a vacation with some of my family, can't wait!

  • AMEN! I couldn't have put it better than you. Keep up the great job.

  • get a new puppy for Allie to play with and bring this series back.. i'll get another puppy and follow along.

  • The average dog is kept 2 years in a family. This shows how lightly most people take this sommitment.

  • any chance of the fallow up vids making it to youtube. vid was uploaded quite a while ago just wondering? TNPFTW

  • There's just no reason a dog should be tied out in the backyard forever like they've been sentenced to prison. Thats the sad life of my neighbors doberman. The dog just paces back and forth standing in its own filth stuck inside a 10' x 10' kennel. Get off your ASS and take your dog out. My JRT goes everywhere with me. Crusing in the boat , swims at the lake, hikes in the mountains and rides to the store. A lot of the time your dog can be the best companion. No complaining and always happy!

  • Hi Nutn, hope you keep making dog vids!!!

  • Beautiful dog

  • A Bad owner = A Bad Dog...Well Said.

    Loved the vid. Thanks.

  • If you know how to "speak" with dog you dont even need to train him actualy. But as I said it needs some know-how. My German Sheepdog when he was little got almost every illness and sickness he could get, but after lots, lots of care and love he become 110% healthy, shiny, big, fluffy and joyful dog/friend of mine:) Never counted money spent on him when he came back alive from diseases. Nice vid Nutn! Take care Veri;)

  • I had Boxer. I'm about to buy R.Ridgeback. Your words are true :)

  • this made me smile and i have a newfoundland sister and a golden retriever sister

  • beautiful dog, look at that coat.

  • I LOVE THE FIRST PICTURE! Allie sticking her head and paws out the truck window, just hanging, like she's saying hi. XD

  • Great video....

I'd get a dog... but I work graveyard and I'm able to fully take care of one.

I also live in an apartment with no yard for it to run around in.

  • Nutn. Did you ever finish your dog basic videos? Id love to hear your techniques with training.

  • id love to see some more of your dog training videos/.

  • gawd i get sick of staring at your face lolz jk yet again another good video

  • @MiaInVegas You just made a friend in me. I couldn't agree more! People who park their dogs outside like lawn furniture are neglectful and abusive! -- Veri

  • O wait this isn't it ) :

  • OK I think I found it...

    hmmm ( : lol

  • Mind your rifle as you would your dog; keep it clean, well fed, and by your side

  • What happened to the "establish alpha" video did it get deleted? I can't find it.

  • Will we get any more dog basics vids? They are very relevant and interesting to me! I've been a subscriber for only a short while now but TNP is one of the most amazing youtube channels I've come across. Thanks for your videos!

  • nutnnn theres so many dog lovers out there that would love a partner in their outdoor lives (hunting, camping etc) please put out a foundational vid on training tips for preparing a dog to be as confident and collected in the outdoors as Allie is. thanx

  • another great video. you hit the nail on the head. Too many people treat buying a dog like buying patio furniture. Its definitely a life long commitment! A lot of people dont understand why I didnt put max down after his accident. I always ask them, "Would you put your son/daugheter down if it happened to him/her?"

  • @thayne559 Max is THE MAN. I just love Max Cam (Nutn knows me well and made sure that I saw your vids). Just watching Max roll out, you can see how clearly he loves life and has so much to give. He's an inspiration. I just love him to death, and thayne...you totally rock too. -- Veri

  • Nutn I dont know how I have missed this video, I came across it from another youtuber that had favorited it. This vid is amazing, and goes along with my entire lifes POU. I am building my channel around this POU. Nutn I love you man!

    -Bryan

  • Yes, more dog vids please! Allie seems like such a well trained dog! Show us the light nutnfancy! My wife and I just adopted "Moose" a 12 week old lab mix and are working with him diligently!

  • I would definitely like to see more dog training videos, very cool. Also it would be cool to see an exhibition, if you will, of allies skill set and training. Love all the videos nutn, you and the tnp are an indispensable resource of knowledge and character. I know it has to be a lot of work and you probably hear this all the time but all the work and the quality videos are very well appreciated. Keep doing what your doing, thanks much my friend.

  • Nice video. I agree with everything you stated so far. My dog is the closest thing my wife and I have to a son. He was the ring bearer in our wedding. Hope you do more on this subject.

  • There is no such thing as a bad, or evil animal, there are only bad people.

  • brodie? Lol that is my second name, my family name and line runs back for 1000 years

  • I know it sounds dumb but you can tell the quality of a man by how he treats his dog..... and you can tell how he treats his dog by how his dog treats him, because dogs dont care that people are arround

  • Your dog is very well loved :)

  • coolness me and my family is trying to adopt a black lab/rotti from the spca hope they accept ours!!

  • good point, love you're vids...

Wee had a sister (not a dog) doberman for 10 years...

  • We had a Doberman sister too. Awesome dogs. -- Veri

  • Rating is deactivated... :(

I would give 5* and I don't think that somebody would rate less than 4* because your speaking the complete truth and anybody who's watching this video knows that I think...

  • Very important topic. Can't wait for the next one.

  • Would love to see more on this topic nutnfancy!

  • Nutn knows he has viewers (like me!) patiently waiting for more dog videos and told me the other night that he's going to crank it up again. -- Veri

  • Thats great to hear, I know hes a busy guy. It would be nice if he discusses training basics for taking dogs into the deep bush. I haven't before, but I plan to this year and would like to get some safety tips when it comes to ensuring your dog acts properly when faced with bears, snakes or any other hazards out there. Last thing I want is my dog agitating a bear!!! Keep up the great work, one of the best advisors on here!

  • Well, its still "in his head", but it sounded like exactly what you are talking about...taking Allie out on a backpacking hike. I will pass your ideas along to him..I think you guys are both on the same page. -- Veri

  • More dog trng vids please! Do you subscribe to a certain system?

  • Good training is, indeed, important. My bud's dog is thankfully small but he's way too rowdy and carefree. I'm not surprised 'cause he takes after his owner. Lots of love but not enough training!

Sweet vid dude, don't quite see any more of the type yet but maybe I'm just not there right now. On to more, then.

  • i'm getting a black lab all because of you nutn! i LOVE all your vids

  • Nutn your exactly 100% rite! i had my duke (a very large doberman) for 12 years and he was a fantastic well behaved member of our family,, but big dogs do need alot of exercise and time spent outside,, i personally dont have the energy anymore for a large dog all though i still miss my doby,, i have a pair of chihuahua's now, alittle more my speed as i got older , they love to be held and dont like being outside, Great vid!!

  • o my god its darth vader

  • out of all the tnp helpers i have to say my two favorite are allie and of course fitzen(gimli)

  • This is one of my favorite Nutnfancy videos. Allie is quite the personality in TNP. Thanks Nutn! Every video deserves FIVE STARS.

  • beautffull dog, love her in your vids:) big part of TNP! Glad you did vid on this subject, peace, love from uk

  • My brother wanted a lab and so my parents bought him one. They told him it was his responsibility to do everything, but my father never understood just what types of responsibilities little kids are capable of. For years I was only person who fed her and took her for walks. Dad would always yell at my brother to spend more time with the dog but he would never get out and fed her or walk her himself. Even if she was barking and hungry and he was the only person at home. Now she's older and

  • I'm away in Utah for college. I think about all of the days she's spent wasting away in a kennel in the back yard. Dad says she can't come in because she's too rambunctious and chews too much. Just like the video said, that's the owners fault and not the dog's!! It just kills me.

If you get a dog you really do have to treat them like a child and love them like your own. Be with them everyday and it should be a FAMILY thing. The FAMILY should take care of the dog.

  • I couldn't agree more. I believe so strongly that people shouldn't get dogs "for the kids" unless they are committed to owning and loving them as well. Its a total family committment. Thanks for sharing your story. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Tell nutn we cant wait for the dog training videos! Also, tell him that I am wearing my nutnfancy t-shirt right now too haha

  • I can't wait for those either! I'll make sure he knows. -- Veri

  • @ Veri

    still waiting.

  • *high five* Me too! I'm going to start naggin'. Thanks for the reminder! -- Veri

  • Thanks for the advice I apreciate the help.

  • It's however she feels, or if I have to go to school she's put outside.

  • Cool, I was afraid you were going to say outside dog. To train a dog right, you have to spend infinite hours with them. Hours with the family, hours socializing, hours just hanging out. Boxers are weird, I know, my old boss had one..but you can totally make them into cool dogs with constant interaction (and constant consistant rules). They're pretty alpha! -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Great video man but I was wondering if you could help me with my 2 year old boxer. I want to train her but I don't know where to begin can you spare me some advice on how to train her?

  • Jor - is she an indoor dog or an outdoor dog? -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Frantically scanning the park for other dogs, Allie fretted to herself, "Gee, I hope nobody that I know spots me wearing this gay vest!". (...just kidding....Allie is quite a cutie!)

  • I personally know that my sister's friend's family was quite irresponsible with their puppy lab. They lived a very busy lifestyle with lots of traveling and seemingly the parents were very busy with work. The dog was neglected. Just as they had bought it, they went on a long family vacation abroad, leaving the dog behind. They also kept it in a cage, which was illegally small btw. The puppy was never really trained either, and I suspect wasn't given enough physical exercise either.

    :(

  • i love my dogs so much . my life would be soo boring without dogs. they are part of my family

  • Great vid! I love your comment about people who don't like dogs not being loved enough as a child. Those people are messed up. Dogs are great!

  • I totally agree with you, it seem you are the first person thath like army that don't like go to kill birds and other animals and have this "sensibility"

  • labradorable

  • Comment removed

  • this is the dumbest question i've ever seen

  • Please do some more dog basics videos. Great topic and would love to see more. Thanks!

  • Excellent video--they should show it on Animal Planet! People need to know this information before they commit to adopting a dog.

  • From one dog lover to another; Great subject!!! Thanks.

  • so glad you did this vid, can't wait for the next ones! Thanks Nutn'!

  • Please continue these videos! They are the best!!!!!

  • Hey nutnfancy, I hope you will finish your dog training videos!!!

  • I am anxiously awaiting your new dog training videos!!! This will be good....

  • I have a dog for 7 years, and Im happy that I have him evry single day, to bad there are people who don't

  • I've just found your dog videos! I would definitely like to see more. Keep up the good work. Your dog is awesome. More dog training vids!!!

  • who was that baby???

  • my large bread dog well always have a place in my life we love my dog very much. i run him every day on my farm. thanks 4 this video nutnfancy keep them coming

  • This video is 100% true. When you have a dog give them all the love you can cause when the dog passes you will pick out all the neglect you endured on that dog and it will make you misserable.

  • Lindon?

  • This is great, would like to see more vids about dog training

  • short video!!!????

  • great video, we need more dog vids

  • check my labrador video out, its funny, honest..

    called Biff Labrador Planet Protector

  • Yes, there also is a responsbility - yo're absolutely right

  • thats a good dog i like her

  • Cesar Milan and Nutnfancy are pack leaders

  • What you say makes sense.

I thing I would say is solitary dogs are the worst offenders in an urban situation.

If have 3 now, I used to have 6, all the same size as yours.

My dogs are social because I socialise them, with other dogs, with people and most importantly with kids.

I know most dogs dont get to grow up and live with their Mum, Dad, brothers and sisters, but I have found 2 dogs are a hell of a lot less hassle than 1!

6 may sound like total chaos, but it was fun and not any trouble.

  • cute dog

  • LoL, Not loved as a child. I am not sure if there is a study to back you up on that but I am a shrink and I will vouch for that comment. Good Day!!

  • I love labs

  • Lmfao. Haha.

''Maybe they weren't loved as a baby.''

    XD

  • "I'm suspicious of people that don't like dogs. Perhaps they weren't loved as a child.."

    hahahhahahahahaha.

  • lmfao ...

  • Man I'd love a dog but apartment living isn't fair to the dog. Once my new career is off the ground and I have a house I'm totally getting a dog and I'm training and loving it properly. I'd love to have a dog to run with :-) It would be cool to have a dog to take hiking with me!

  • Ok dude I subscribed. Your stuff is amazing. That was wonderful.

  • I am going to take his advice and get the vest for my dog. That is a great idea as my dog has had run ins with some really vicious dogs and even a pitbull from time to time. I will get one of those immediately. Great advice!

  • I'm thinking of getting a Lab myself. I look forward to some more insight on your training philosophy.

  • 6:39 was funny because the baby was like "i'm watching you boy."

  • You kind of look like Sylvester Stallone.

  • Ha Ha. I have a great dane of 4 called Henry V (After the king) if I wanted him to come on a camping trip he'd be like " Get out, I wanna watch TV" Ha ha

  • brody is so cute!

  • you dont have a fat face ;)

  • Thanks another 5 stars from me. I'd love to see how you get your dog to run down the side walk with the car.

  • thats my dogs name

  • im a dog person for ever. mans best friend for sure. one of the coolest things we've got from mother nature

  • your dog loves MARPAT

  • This is a fantastic video!!!! TNP, you've done it again! Your points are perfectly made. Dogs are pack animals and they do need to be treated just like a child member of the family. I've had many dogs...small to very large...from dachsunds to German Sheps to Rotts and Pittbulls. The dog is NEVER the problem and it is all a reflection of the owner's investment in the pet. Ironically enough, I've found this to also be true of cats...and cats are remarkable family members as well. Perfect vid!!!

  • I have a pitbull and she's the best dog in the world. Never bitten anyone, and is great with children, even babies. Just not so good around other dogs lol

  • Kudos to you sir. Allie I can tell is a great dog. I work at a vet clinic and deal with mindless dog owners daily.

  • should get a cat

  • LOL i dont think he is the cat type..lol

  • He loves all animals, seriously. He's a cat guy too.

  • i wish my dad was into the outdoors =O

  • Haha Mrs. Nutnfancy :M. Love all your vids thank you!

  • Great video! I have a Dalmation and he's awesome!

  • EVERYTHING IS UPSIDE DOWN OH NOES

  • you rule dude, love your gun and knife collection =]

  • who does your music? cool sounds, real funky!

  • Thank you Sir for all the vids. You provide great and valuable life lessons!! I really am thankful for an awesome and entusiastic mentor. Allie is a beautiful family member!! We added two new members to our family...Jake and Bella....they are 7 week old Rottweiler/German sheppard mix pups...Our family is ready for the committment of raising them to be great dogs, so we'd like to join you for the ride of the dog training basics...as well as the nutnfancy project!!! Thanks again and be safe!

  • I love labs. I had one for like 12 years. We moved a lot and he was my best friend when I didn't have anyone else. Saddly I had to put him down about 5 years ago. I miss him but I've since rescued other dogs from the pound.

  • Great Vid Great pre-exsposure to the Idea of dog gone ownership

  • I know exactly what you're saying in this video. My sister got a chocolate lab. a while back and they never took it to puppy classes, and they let it get away with murder! Like you said they haven't established "alpha" because it just tears up the house! it really is like satan in dog form......but i know it could have been a beautiful dog if they'd trained it right. Cool vid man, keep them up. From all us here in the UK, thanks again :)

  • hey man great vid love what u preach. i just a got a black lab hes 7 month ol and hes awsome and i can wait til hes able to go out and fish and camp with me l8er man keep up the great work

  • I love my GSD. I should post some videos of Jake (2 Y.O.) and Heiko (10 mo.) working. I agree with your style. Good owners make GREAT DOGS!

  • NutNFancy, as always, quality stuff. I could not agree more with your philosophies towards dogs. Over the last two years I have fostered a handful of dogs that were abanded by there owners and one of the most important things I look for in a family is an abudance of love and affection. A loved, socialized, and trained dog is really a life changing experience.

I'm excited for the rest of your vid's.

    Take care.

  • sheep dogs lead the way!

  • Nutnfancy is the Dog-God! You rule, man!

  • REALLY looking forward to this series Nutn. Heck, I wouldn't mind if you put all the knife and gun reviews on hold and pounded this out. Keep up the good work man!

  • That is one beautiful dog you have. Black labs have a special spot in my heart since my first dog was a black lab-hound mix.

  • I must admit Nut, I don't really agree with some of your concepts on knives and whatnot, but this video I must agree with 100%. I had a full size Doberman and I loved him till the day he died almost a year ago. Losing him was like losing a family member too. People used to always tell me how good of a dog he was and I always told them that truly loving your dog is the first and biggest step to getting them to cooperate. Love your dogs people. Theyll follow you to the end of the Earth if you do.

  • i might make a set of videos pretaining to this - train them right from thr beginning, and they'll be twice the joy to own.

  • I see that your dog has accompanied you in snow and extreme conditions. My aussie can't hang with hot ground out here in California and I can't get him to wear dog boots. Have you ever been able to fit you dog's feet with protective gear?

  • I love Ally. What a well trained dog. Hats off to you dude. Love your vids.

  • Dogs are great, truly the best creatures on the planet. My dogs are a 13 year old jack russel/border collie cross and a 6 year old greyhound/collie cross that we just got from a rescue centre at christmas. Im nearly 19 and my 13 year old dog has been with me most of my life, Im an only child and he is my dog brother. Hes really healthy too. I used to have a stafordshire bull terrier too, he was the greatest character. Wouldnt hurt a fly. I love em all as much as my parents. good job on video

  • This vid is awsom. You should do more survival vids. like on more shelters or on traping.

  • Wow this guy is really on the same wave legnth as me. I love dogs and all animals, and guns.

  • Looking forward to some more vids like this.

Anything that helps people be better/more responsible pet owners is much appreciated.

I also really appreciate that fact that although you are a "gun guy", you have a dog that is part of your family, not kenneled out in the yard like some tool to be used as it suites you.

Curious though, where are you located that it is legal to run your dog down the street with no leash?

  • i had a dog... i had him for 10 years of 14 of my life he died october 02 2008 he ran away from us because a gas checker let the f***ing gate open and he was chilling with his homies and he got him by a car now i have another dog... A PAIN IN THE ASS

  • Nice Video ...I can always take away some important and good lessons from them.

    *****

  • Great video... I totally agree with everything you said. I would love a dog, but know myself too well... I can barely can take care of my self, much less another living breathing thing.

  • thanks man. keep up the good work

  • like your dog i have a huskey i think but she is one energetec dog. i take her out on my roller blads we go about 25 mph when i help her .

  • Nutn,

I found your videos a week ago and I have to say you are the man. These vidoes are excellent. My wife and I just got our carry permits and watched your video on carrying. Thanks for your hard work and hope you get your own show someday.

  • 8:54 my dog dose that all the time

    dose anyone know why??

  • Nutn,

Fantastic video! keep doing what your doing bud. I will say I prefer my dogs over most people I have met in my life.

Keep the videos coming and thanks for your service to this country!

A family man, Dog lover, God loving avid sheepdog

  • Great video. That's one beautiful and very lucky dog. And, you're right about how many ppl are completely clueless about how to raise a dog, specially a big dog.

  • nice dog by the way

  • Dogs....man's best friend, and they don't say that for no reason

  • Yessss Nutn...!!! Glad to see the training vids up and running. Excellent stuff buddy :)

  • Seriously? thats a stupid comment. What about these dogs that can sniff out bombs, drugs, and possably save lives. They can be a watch dog and warn people if someones trying to break into you home and hurt your famly. Many more things a dog can do. Plus its calming and fun to care for dogs. I no its your opinion but im not sure where your logic comes from.

  • yea? well you were the same way, if you dident have a daiper you would have been shitting on the floor, until you were trained to use the toilet. but you see, humans and dog breeds all live in groups. tell ya what, dislocate yourself from human civilisation. i mean for fuck sakes man. we have dogs cause they can be WAAY more loyal than human. i mean if your ignorance is clouded you SO much that you try to make other people misserable. you shouldent be living.

  • For every one good thing you think mankind has done, we do like 500 things to fuck this planet up. Man is just as stupid as animals it is just that we found a better way of doing it.

  • lol well if you dont like being a human go de evolve and stfu

  • Freedom of Speech has nothing to do with that, it was given to us so we don't have to fear speaking out against our government. It has nothing to do with being a troll on a very useful video. You are obviously not a fan of dogs . . . . . .

  • And the funny thing is that all you dumbasses get upset over someone elses opinions. This world really is going in the shitter.

  • wich is a human right bastard

  • A dog is what you train it to be..just like a child

  • +1 I would like to see more dog training videos. I've been trying to tell my girlfriend how much of a commitment it is ever since she said she wants a big dog.

  • You can use your dog to carry your Extra Mags and Rifle.
