  • WOČMEN

  • can you upload the rest? I'd like to to see the rest of the story.

  • @ThatGuyWhoSucksBoobz The rest of the comic? This series is just for the origin flashbacks, so no. But you should definitely pick up the comic itself - it's the finest work of art ever produced - you will not regret it.

  • May I ask you what program did you used to make these videos? I want to do something similar, with my own drawings, but I don't found a proper program to do what I want.

Your videos are the best in youtube done this way, so if you can help me I would really appreciate it.

  • Heh thanks :)

The program I use is called Microsoft Photo Story - available on the net for free

  • i really liked this one!!

  • I look forward to seeing how you wrap up "Only Water." I won't give anything away, but my jaw dropped when I read that segment! Poor Laurie!

  • I would have loved to have finished the Chapter, and maybe some day I will, but for now I'm only doing flashback stories which means that only the spoilerific Veidt one is left...sorry

  • Laurie's getting closer to the truth in this segment! She read "Under The Hood" and found out about the rape attempt on her mother, not understanding the significance of the "Only once" comment from The Comedian. Another excellent installment!

  • Again, agree with Elric33239. It's quite an epic moment for Laurie to discover that the man she despised for years, turned out to be her father. Not to mention it explains why, Sally Jupiter isn't mad or upset at Eddie, when she finds out that he died. Also I was wondering what music you used when it transitions to the party scene?

  • The name of the "party song" is "Isolation" by Joy Division. I don't know if "Nixon's crowd" would have listened to it back then, even as background noise, but it DOES fit in with Laurie's emotional turmoil over discovering that The Comedian attempted to rape her mother, along with Jon's claim that she's keeping The Truth from herself. While I'm a little disappointed over Spocko1088 "letting the cat out of the bag," I'll repeat my earlier comment: Poor Laurie!

  • What did you mean by disappointed?

  • I meant that some people who are reading YouTube entries like this haven't read the Watchmen series, or at least not in its entirety, and your "reveal" could have ruined the surprise for them. While I'm sure that you didn't intend to do this, the damage is done. Hence my mild disappointment as opposed to being pissed if I thought your action was intentionally malicious.

  • Well it wasn't my intention. I'm glad that your not pissed. But I think people should read Watchmen, before they watch videos of it on YouTube. That way they don't accidently watch something or read something that is a spoiler and ruins the experience for them. I mean that's kind of a rule when you get invested in something, such as a movie or a television show. When you watch a video of it, you never what clips they will put in or what people will say

  • While I don't claim to be an expert on human nature, I've read a number of links to Watchmen and you'd be surprised how many people haven't even read the latest TPB and ask questions that anyone who's read it once could answer. While your opinion is a valid one, I have a feeling that the preview released with "Dark Knight" combined with IMDB movie previews sparked a ton of curiousity about this series/film.

  • I decided to make these things in the first place to experiment, as well as to give the uninitiated a peak at the book without spoiling it. I felt the flashbacks were a good suit for this...Veidt's second flashback is really spoilerific and it's the moment in the book where all the other 18 flashbacks suddenly double in importance. My question is this: should I

    a)make it soon

b)wait til after the film is released to avoid spoiling it for people

    c)not make it at all

    The choice is yours.

  • I personally appreciate the craftmanship you put into these "flashbacks!" However, because a number of people are looking at these entries without even reading the original comic book series/trade paperback FIRST, I vote "Wait until 03/06/09 when The Movie comes out."

  • And Spocko, what do you think?

  • Well I would love to see the 2nd Adrain Veidt Flashback. You definitely should make it. What you could do is have a spoiler warning on it, showing people that you weren't trying to ruin it for them and that they are ones risking the chance to experience Watchmen the way they want to. Something like "If you have not read Watchmen, watch this video at your own risk." Or you could just keep making other Watchmen type videos and save the 2nd Adrian Veidt flashback for last.

  • Sounds good - I'll put a little notice at the beginning of the video and I'll make it shortly after the film comes out...

In the meantime, I'll think of some different Watchmen videos to do...I'll try to make a Nite Owl II story I think...

  • Please make the sceond falshback, go on you know you want to.

    this series has been fantastic............
