Mitzee figured they were in there when she tried to get in there to change and then when Rae asked about Ste and Mitzee realized both Ste and Brendan were gone . This was unusual in soaps...logical behavior. Ste locking the door, Mitzee deliberately busting them, Rae actually going to see whether Mitzee was telling the truth instead of it being all accident. coincidence etc...
