By the way, I don't know if you're brazilian or not, I AM and I loved that you recorded a Djavan song. I actually don't like Djavan, but it's great that you recorded it... It shows the amazing eclecticism you carry with ya.
You're awesome, man! You should be famous or something. Record your own shit. I really think you would do a GREAT JOB composing... You cover the best songs ever! You have the best taste in music... Keep on, man, keep on.
You never fail to impress me. Your playing is beautiful. This piece, in particular, shows your ability to adapt a song to the acoustic guitar. Great job!
wow!!!! man you can really play!!!! i am amazed!! i play this song without the capo!!! i mean a half step down!!! but i have to practice more if i wanna play like you!!! : ) can you suggest me any advice???
thanks. tuning down the guitar sounds like a good idea too. your chord forms must be different right? i forget the key here so i'll have to take a look at that.
goddamnit troubleclef. You. Are. Outstanding! Is there anything you do that doesn't sound like it's coated in honey and made of the finest gold? Thanks for sharing!
Amazing song. Right up there with Young's best in my opinion. Incredible how you manage to capture it's layers of beauty using just one instrument, as always.
So articulate! Shame that you shame my $4000 search for TONE by way of Les Paul and Leo Fender and however many amps;) it was right there in my 250 dollar acoustic all along;)
well that martin's more than 250 :D If I went electric I'd be looking at some fat hollow body jazz guitar, Joe Pass model or something. Now *that's* tone.
Magnificent. As a lover of the original, and quite as protective as every other Neil Young fan, I still say that is one of the best NY covers I've ever heard. Neil must have become blase about cover versions of his songs over the years, but he really ought to hear this if he hasn't already.
Holy...from the first 20 seconds, I thought it was the wrong song...could not recognize the Neil Young melody...then it came together...you have incorporated both the melody and harmony lines together so cleverly, my ear was not expecting that! Neil Young just plays chords on the recorded version. If this was your original version of "Expecting to Fly", WOW I am impressed!! Very nicely put together, captures the sadness of the song. You could sell tablature for this! 10/10! MORE! MORE!
This guitar is amazing! You could try some Nick Drake song, like road or hazey jane or harvest breed or things behind the sun...only an idea, thanks for this great video.
That was painfully beautiful! It so captured the feel and depth of the original Buffalo Springfield vocal.
[Only thing I didn't quite like was the intro and the ending. Better to slip into and out of it from that same ethereal realm that the melody transports one to.]
well, i wanted to do the whole song. the intro is pretty impossible to get right so i'm biting off more than i can chew. but the ending (with a little fixing) could be quite doable and I LOVE that ending with the oboe and such.
that was amazing troubleclef, and I don't type out complements lightly. That song was one I would play after a girlfriend of mine moved away, and left me alone on an island. It was the end of summer, and every word seemed to speak to me. Maybe it's about his father or something totally different then a man and woman going their seperate ways, but it was there for me in any case. Songs like that, can enter your heart like no other art form. Many thks for that exquisite interpretation. Brilliant!
my fingers are too short to play that one. damit. I wonder if there is a short finger version? That guitar was nice too. I just bought a Martin -new DC28 for 2200.
I'm constantly amazed by your ability with that instrument. Knowing there is talent like that in my family almost makes me feel like I could play if I really tried. I'd love to hear you live, maybe next holiday? Fantastic stuff Uncle, ahem, Tony.
Very beautiful arrangement for a beautiful song. I do a cover with guitar and vocal harmonies that I posted as a video response. Check it out! Wish I could give you more than 5 stars!!
