All Christians would say their beliefs are based, more or less, on The Holy Bible. Problem is, you stick ten Christians in a room, and you'll get ten different ideas of what their Bible says, ranging from a couple of teenagers hanging out in a garden with a talking snake 6,000 years ago as the literal truth, to, "well, it's a book that has some good ideas but it's not literal" -
So, tell me what your Bible tells you and I'll know where to start.
Once again, 12oink12, you perfectly exemplify the problem. Stupid people are utterly unable to evaluate intelligence.
You sound like someone so lacking in any vestige of intellectual potential that you would actually believe that a man who graduated in the bottom 1% of the Naval Academy, or a bible-thumpin' Arkansas Baptist preacher is somehow comparable to a magna cum laude Harvard graduate, or that Jindal's apparent intelligence somehow negates his religious delusions and hallucinations.
Perhaps I am stupid for having faith in my god and my saviour. perhaps you are right. But I do not apologize for my beliefs, but rather feel sympathy for you and you're lack of faith.
You obviously believe that; any one that has a faith and has the open mindedness to think that we were ceated for a purpose, by a being and not just by mistake or after evolving-is stupid. And that is your right. You have the right to say it and I have no response but to say 'I diasagree'
While you're disagreeing, please remember that it was you who had the hubris, the arrogance to presume to assess SelfImmolator's IQ based on two sentences. What charming hypocrisy. Yet you're the open-minded one - the one who has closed your mind to every piece of science based on geology, paleontology, embryology, genetics, nuclear theory and, what the heck, if you're a young earth creationist, we can throw in astronomy and physics. Way to open your mind by slamming it shut in an ancient book.
Brilliant Bobby Jindal. This man's resume is amazing! Rhodes Scholar from Oxford, accepted at Harvard Med and Yale Law, Brown Grad. and president of a university system. Wow!
LatinoIndiano, see, there's the problem with you guys. The Republican field has been dominated by C students and worse for so long that you've kind of lost your grip on the meaning of the word brilliant. In a group of 15-watt Republican light bulbs, yup, Jindal shines a little brighter. Unfortunately, he's also prone to batshit religious beliefs and hallucinations - not a consideration to take lightly when electing the man with his finger on the button of nuclear Armageddon.
Right, for 20 years, he was taken out of context repeatedly... over and over, such as he didn't really say that the government invented HIV to destroy black people, and that they are against the "middle class." Have fun trying to convince everyone of that.
I'm sure Jeremiah Wright is just misunderstood and needs our emotional support.
You guys shot yourselves in the foot when you dismissed a 20 year stint of hate filled nuttiness and fun times as "not relevant" and a "distraction", sorry.
Odd how you cite a "20 year stint of hate filled nuttiness", but all we see are a couple clips on youtube. Let's accentuate the negative and eliminate the positive that Trinity United did for people of all races.
Furthermore, Obama is not Wright. He didn't live through the civil rights movement like Wright did, and if you read Obama's books you would realize how he is not a racist and how he will be a president for all people.
Can you think for yourself or does your preacher do it for you?
He named a book after one of his sermons. He admitted he was his spiritual adviser, Obama went and subscribed to the doctrine of a church for 20 years that rejected the idea of a middle class, yet you're saying, despite being a member of it, despite his pretty dedicated involvement to the fact that he NAMED A BOOK AFTER ONE OF THE SERMONS, that is not reflective of who he is or his character.
The other issue is Jindal can run on his record, Obama had to run on his personality because no record
He did, therefore that sermon can be called into question. Which "doctrine" of the United Church of Christ are you referring to as being a bad one?
"rejected the idea of a middle class"
Incorrect, you must be getting your info from email forwards.
Obama ran on his record as one who excels at everything he does.
At least Jindal has a reputable College education unlike McCain/Palin. Then again there was that whole exorcism thing, you have to knock off a few intelligence points for that.
Yeah, I think it's awfully believable that Obama didn't agree with the doctrine that was espoused by the church for 20 years, and didn't agree with anyone else there that believed it. I've got a bridge to sell you.
You need to read the church doctrine about the middle class. It's becoming painfully obvious you have no problem with hypocrisy, as I'm sure you are just parroting the thing about exorcism and didn't actually read anything about it(an email forward, perhaps?)
Seriously, you can't be falling for this. Wright regularly quoted Cone, the so called author of black liberation theology. He said his theology based based off of him. You won't find Cone mentioned anywhere on the UCC website.
They've had numerous news stories on the written doctrine of the church in rejecting the idea of middle class. Use google.
Nice job quoting the wikipedia page(let me guess, you googled for "wikipedia jindal"?)
Jindal's enemies tried this before. It went nowhere.
What efforts of Obama's can you point to that stick out as evidence that he adheres to BLT? A bill, an organization that he headed that sought to liberate the black man? Or is it all Rev. Wright all the time in your Fox News, guilt by association reality?
As far as Jindal, I googled "jindal exorcist" just now and it comes up with the actual article he wrote.
Funny how you don't mind your politicians being felons, exorcists, & witch hunters. IOKIYAR right?
Please don't tell me you just asked "what evidence" is there that Obama, who went to a BLT church for 20 years, had a BLT pastor as his spiritual adviser and named a book after him, has made repeat racially tinged comments(along with his wife). Please don't tell me you have gone this far off the reservation and are living in this much denial.
The interesting thing here is that you have to exaggerate and make up facts to make your point with palin or jindal, but we can just listen to wright.
Yes, I asked for evidence that Obama himself has advanced the BLT Philosophy.. And you failed, as I knew you would, to provide anything other than your guilt by association meme.
The interesting thing here is that you have to exaggerate and make up facts to make your point with Obama, but we can just disregard Palin & Jindal.
Please don't tell me you just asked "what evidence" is there that Obama, who went to a BLT church for 20 years, had a BLT pastor as his spiritual adviser and named a book for him, has made repeat racially tinged comments(along with his wife). Please don't tell me you have gone this far off the reservation and are living in this much denial.
The interesting thing here is that you have to exaggerate and make up facts to make your point with palin or jindal, but we can just listen to wright.
Wow, that's convenient. So now it's a kenyan witch hunter blessing palin as opposed to palin being a witch hunter, as you said in your last post.
"Guilt by assocation." That's like saying if you belong to the KKK for 20 years, one cannot assume that you actually agreed with any of their beliefs. For you to say that Obama didn't share the beliefs of a church he was a member of and attended for 20 years(along with the inspiriation of a book, where he was married, etc) only shows denial.
Oh.. So you are equating Trinity United to the KKK now. How many people has the KKK helped in recent years? You live in such a cartoon world where you believe everything you are fed don't you?
Go turn on Rush and let him tell you how to think, and be sure to tune on Jan 20 when we swear in the 44th president, Barack Obama!!
You are going up a hopelessly shallow stream trying to compare Obama's allegiance to a racist church for 20 years of adult life vs something Jindal witnessed when he was 18, an undergraduate in college and didn't even know much about Catholicism.
Your argument is extremely desperate and down right silly. If Dems bring junk like this up, they have no intelligence. And you will certainly end up offending Catholics, without whom Dems have no chance of winning anything.
Yes, and Obama better get to some serious work. He made a lot of far out promises which he better deliver on. He just hired the Clinton people after he slammed them and said they weren't "change" all thru the primary.
Not Republican here but I think that Jindal is absolutely brilliant. It's great that we have finally made way, if he runs, for first serious ethnic minority candidate in the Republican party and that the guy is likely the intelligent man in public office today.
I think Newt summed up the Republican party pretty well starting at 2:45. Each time the country is fed up with their policies, they have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future, until they can get a new foothold from which to throw another lasso around progress.
This is great. The best you guys have on Jindal is something he supposedly witnessed over 20 years ago, but aren't concerned about the church Obama went to for 20 years.
Hmmm - dcougle, I'll put demons, mystical healing and exorcisms up against Kucinich's UFO that "you guys" were going batshit about - Oh, I'm sorry - did you want it both ways?
Wow, Dennis Kucinich did that when he was in college and not a congressman on the house floor?
I know you guys are struggling to find some dirt on him, and I can understand the best you can do is some religious experience he claims to have witnessed when he was around 20. But you lost all credibility on these things after saying that Obama, who went to a nutty racist church for 20 years, with a leader spouting conspiracies all the time(HIV), is not a big deal or reflective of character.
Witnessing a woman cured of cancer at a church is crazy.
Listening to a pastor of a church who is taken outta context because of the passion in the anger he has against things the US has done is understandably concerning.
I don't condone either one but their is a difference.
the democratic Governor of Louisiana was fired because of her incompetent handling of Katrina and Jindal did a great job with hurricane Gustav.. not to mention he takes moderate approaches on social issues
the republicans have a youth and diversity crisis.. Jindal is one of the few republican leader who is young and represent the minorities in America..
Oh PLEASE GIVE US DEMS PALIN IN 2012....Obama will need two terms to clean up the GOP MADE mess. Blame the media for Palin's loss or blame the fact she was not qualified enough or even slightly knowledgeable about the issues facing the country and how to solve them?
Yeah, I may disagree with Obama but once he was picked as the dem nominee he became our best chance for cleaning this mess up.
Its funny that jindal is saying repubs need a real solution. Repubs have no real solution.
He wants to keep big business in charge of insurance? Thats done so well. You put profits over health and you get businesses killing people for profit. Its being done now and even cheaper healthcare wont work since even now people with healthcare still get terrible service often
@waltermh111 big business is the private sector...the private sector is protected by the constitution......profits make jobs.....im a nurse and know patients that wont even buy blood pressure medicine to calm their aneurysm.......yeh...im sure theyll pay for insurance---not likely bro.....look forward to millions of fines and noone to enforce it....nice planning morons.
I am against a mandate without a public option and honestly, I am for universal care, where you dont have to worry about whether you have insurance or not, because all people do.
The mandate will definitely be an issue, though I dont even know how it will work, so lets calm the assumptions and name calling down yet because I doubt even you fully understand what the future holds.
Instead, just kick out officials who dont do what you like.
@uyd yeh....the dems were in control of congress when things started going awry in this country....dems in charge now....things are bad....you would think after 3 trillion dollars we would at least have some 'change' ....but we cant even afford what we've got....borrowing from china....good job morons.
@bwh012 Things started going bad while the repubs were in control, but yeah, the dems were in control for the last 2 years of bushes presidency, when he vetoed anything they wanted that he didnt, and the dems stupidly went along with repubs on much.
Its a sad fact that we have so many conservadems that its more accurate to say that conservatives are in control, rather than one party or another.
Its why many people do not identify as dem, despite being liberal.
@bwh012 Also, there you go again with your petty name calling. Seriously, get over yourself. Wouldnt want you as a nurse with your likley bedside manner.
We are all upset that the dems and Obama are being so conservative
Even the fial healthcare plan had many main repub points, and concessions to them, ruining it. It had almost none of the promsed provisions in it from when Obama and the dems campaigned in 2008
But then again, goes back to how centrist they are trying to be, cowtowing to cons

They've had numerous news stories on the written doctrine of the church in rejecting the idea of middle class. Use google.
Nice job quoting the wikipedia page(let me guess, you googled for "wikipedia jindal"?)
Jindal's enemies tried this before. It went nowhere.

Ahh and the BLT argument again..
IOKIYAR right?
acseeley 3 years ago 2
Please don't tell me you just asked "what evidence" is there that Obama, who went to a BLT church for 20 years, had a BLT pastor as his spiritual adviser and named a book after him, has made repeat racially tinged comments(along with his wife). Please don't tell me you have gone this far off the reservation and are living in this much denial.
The interesting thing here is that you have to exaggerate and make up facts to make your point with palin or jindal, but we can just listen to wright.
dcougle 3 years ago
Yes, I asked for evidence that Obama himself has advanced the BLT Philosophy.. And you failed, as I knew you would, to provide anything other than your guilt by association meme.
The interesting thing here is that you have to exaggerate and make up facts to make your point with Obama, but we can just disregard Palin & Jindal.

I guess you missed this video of the Kenyan Witch hunter blessing Palin..
watch?v=iwkb9_zB2Pg
Where are the videos of Obama and Wright praising BLT together?
acseeley 3 years ago 2
Wow, that's convenient. So now it's a kenyan witch hunter blessing palin as opposed to palin being a witch hunter, as you said in your last post.
"Guilt by assocation." That's like saying if you belong to the KKK for 20 years, one cannot assume that you actually agreed with any of their beliefs. For you to say that Obama didn't share the beliefs of a church he was a member of and attended for 20 years(along with the inspiriation of a book, where he was married, etc) only shows denial.
dcougle 3 years ago
Oh.. So you are equating Trinity United to the KKK now. How many people has the KKK helped in recent years? You live in such a cartoon world where you believe everything you are fed don't you?
Go turn on Rush and let him tell you how to think, and be sure to tune on Jan 20 when we swear in the 44th president, Barack Obama!!
acseeley 3 years ago
You are going up a hopelessly shallow stream trying to compare Obama's allegiance to a racist church for 20 years of adult life vs something Jindal witnessed when he was 18, an undergraduate in college and didn't even know much about Catholicism.
Your argument is extremely desperate and down right silly. If Dems bring junk like this up, they have no intelligence. And you will certainly end up offending Catholics, without whom Dems have no chance of winning anything.

Say it with me.. President Barack Obama..
You lose!
Now go cling to your guns and religion!
acseeley 3 years ago 2
Yes, and Obama better get to some serious work. He made a lot of far out promises which he better deliver on. He just hired the Clinton people after he slammed them and said they weren't "change" all thru the primary.
Not Republican here but I think that Jindal is absolutely brilliant. It's great that we have finally made way, if he runs, for first serious ethnic minority candidate in the Republican party and that the guy is likely the intelligent man in public office today.

Your President and his new,I mean old administration will be one fail term Presidency and that's enough for all of us already.

I think Newt summed up the Republican party pretty well starting at 2:45. Each time the country is fed up with their policies, they have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the future, until they can get a new foothold from which to throw another lasso around progress.

When did Jindal become "the face" of the Republican party?

CaliforniaAfrican - "When did Jindal become "the face" of the Republican party?"
Some time after he encountered a demon, took place in an exorcism and cured a woman of cancer. No. I'm. Not. Freaking. Kidding. I only wish I were.
47f0 3 years ago 4
This is great. The best you guys have on Jindal is something he supposedly witnessed over 20 years ago, but aren't concerned about the church Obama went to for 20 years.
Can't have it both ways.
dcougle 3 years ago
Hmmm - dcougle, I'll put demons, mystical healing and exorcisms up against Kucinich's UFO that "you guys" were going batshit about - Oh, I'm sorry - did you want it both ways?
47f0 3 years ago
Wow, Dennis Kucinich did that when he was in college and not a congressman on the house floor?
I know you guys are struggling to find some dirt on him, and I can understand the best you can do is some religious experience he claims to have witnessed when he was around 20. But you lost all credibility on these things after saying that Obama, who went to a nutty racist church for 20 years, with a leader spouting conspiracies all the time(HIV), is not a big deal or reflective of character.
dcougle 3 years ago
Big difference between the two points.
Witnessing a woman cured of cancer at a church is crazy.
Listening to a pastor of a church who is taken outta context because of the passion in the anger he has against things the US has done is understandably concerning.
I don't condone either one but their is a difference.

Bobby Jindal has more brain than most people here in america combined. Do yourself a favor by google on Bobby Jindal and see it for yourself bitch?

the democratic Governor of Louisiana was fired because of her incompetent handling of Katrina and Jindal did a great job with hurricane Gustav.. not to mention he takes moderate approaches on social issues
the republicans have a youth and diversity crisis.. Jindal is one of the few republican leader who is young and represent the minorities in America..

Oh PLEASE GIVE US DEMS PALIN IN 2012....Obama will need two terms to clean up the GOP MADE mess. Blame the media for Palin's loss or blame the fact she was not qualified enough or even slightly knowledgeable about the issues facing the country and how to solve them?
uyd 3 years ago 11
Yeah, I may disagree with Obama but once he was picked as the dem nominee he became our best chance for cleaning this mess up.
Its funny that jindal is saying repubs need a real solution. Repubs have no real solution.
He wants to keep big business in charge of insurance? Thats done so well. You put profits over health and you get businesses killing people for profit. Its being done now and even cheaper healthcare wont work since even now people with healthcare still get terrible service often
waltermh111 3 years ago 6
@waltermh111 big business is the private sector...the private sector is protected by the constitution......profits make jobs.....im a nurse and know patients that wont even buy blood pressure medicine to calm their aneurysm.......yeh...im sure theyll pay for insurance---not likely bro.....look forward to millions of fines and noone to enforce it....nice planning morons.
bwh012 1 year ago
@bwh012 Your responding to the wrong person.
Instead, just kick out officials who dont do what you like.
waltermh111 1 year ago
@uyd yeh....the dems were in control of congress when things started going awry in this country....dems in charge now....things are bad....you would think after 3 trillion dollars we would at least have some 'change' ....but we cant even afford what we've got....borrowing from china....good job morons.
bwh012 1 year ago
@bwh012 Things started going bad while the repubs were in control, but yeah, the dems were in control for the last 2 years of bushes presidency, when he vetoed anything they wanted that he didnt, and the dems stupidly went along with repubs on much.
Its a sad fact that we have so many conservadems that its more accurate to say that conservatives are in control, rather than one party or another.
Its why many people do not identify as dem, despite being liberal.
waltermh111 1 year ago
@bwh012 Also, there you go again with your petty name calling. Seriously, get over yourself. Wouldnt want you as a nurse with your likley bedside manner.
We are all upset that the dems and Obama are being so conservative
Even the fial healthcare plan had many main repub points, and concessions to them, ruining it. It had almost none of the promsed provisions in it from when Obama and the dems campaigned in 2008
But then again, goes back to how centrist they are trying to be, cowtowing to cons
