  • i soldered my hs to my cpu

  • @Makavelian5408 haha really?

  • @Makavelian5408 Same here. I plasma welded my hs to my processor. Never trust those attachment points. =D >.< Wave of the future!

  • intro too long

  • lol suprised at the song too, but if you dont like, say something nice please!

  • omg what this song?

  • LOL, Never seen that method b4

  • rofl@the song

  • What is a waste of your time! The music you play is very inappropriate for the purpose of this video May you should rename this video with the name of the song you want to play!

  • i am currently cooling my CPU with the stock cooler and a pedastool fan and IT WORKS!

  • wow i see u have a foam bed under ur pc.does it really help?

  • May I make a suggestion? Go ahead and use the youtube annotations to type out what numbers you wanted to show on the screen. I couldn't really read it, even under high quality.

  • My thermal paste for the processor has been on for 2 and half years. It is right now idling at 27c. Still have my stock cooler as well (amd).

Man I never use the method he used. Spread that out and don't rely on pressure.

  • Why does everyone say to get a new cooler when the temperatures are within the specified operating range? I understand some people prefer to have super cool temperatures but I tend to see comments suggesting normal temperatures of 10-20C less than what many manufacturer websites say is just fine.

Even if he did put too much on or made mistakes when doing it, it's reassuring that even with a bit of a mistake like that it still worked okay. I have to admit touching a CPU is intimidating to me.

  • because stock coolers are noisy and lousy when overclocking.

  • Had to fix an xbox today and the coolers in them are aweful, just passive heatsinks.

  • Mine gets to over 24C over the recommended

  • Well, most people get a net CPU cooler to improve life time of the CPU or just becouse they are going to overclock it :), and it just runs smoother if its cool :O

  • There is one good reason for replacing the cooler even if temperatures are within spec. Generally, if your cooling system is more efficient and the temperatures are lower, the fan won't be driven to as high RPMs, and the box is quieter.

  • MAn, buy another cooler. The Intel Boxed cooler is a true shit. buy any one, but don't use that.

  • wow... crusty paste

  • It probably helps . but you changed the fan also :)

  • First song was gay! But the second song was kick ass!

  • You gotta spread your paste around man. Just a blob in the middle isnt going to cool it off for shit.

  • That's what A&R did to mine. When I took it off, there was a patch in the middle and I was like wtf

  • You guys are jerks, I liked the music even though I didn't understand much of anything.

  • what the fuck music is that... cornomusic

  • God i might watch this if it wasnt for the music...think i will find a similar video instead

  • Who give a flying fuck abou the music you fucking toss

  • WTF is that fucking japanese music?? Fucking die u fag

  • shut the fuck up about the music faggots.

  • holy shit.....fuck music

  • were can i buy thermopaste and dont say online please help

  • It's Thermal Paste and is in Radioshack Or FRY's and so on and so forth

  • Incorrect way to apply thermal paste. Do not touch the processor before applying. Fingerprints can be as thick as 0.005" and can prevent the micronized silver fill from directly paste from contacting the metal surfaces. Also, when applying thermal paste to the cpu remember that only a very THIN light coat is necessary. Applying more thermal paste will actually reduce the performance of the paste and your heatsink.

  • You are soo right!! thank you!

  • thats a big cooler :)

  • OMG he isnt unplugging O_O

  • to keep grounded

  • CHUPALO PENCA TU VIDEO

  • using the side of your case lowers internal tems.

  • This guy's crazy, it looks like he has no idea what he's doing!

  • u can call him pc newbie

but he fixes his problem , so be glad for him

no mater how much thermal paste , paste type ,

    all works fine

good luck , nice video + song

  • haha are you serious, wtf are you on? Listen, fair enough if he wants to wreck his own HS, but the hell, he decided to release a video so countless others who might not know better can copy him and do the same. Yeah! I'm real glad!

Seriously, people can release vids of them being retarded, I don't care, but to do a DEMO vid, and then do it THAT badly deserves ridicule, if only as a warning to others.

  • you have a poing.

  • stock intel cpu coolers suck

  • HOLY SHIT THAT'S HOT mine never goes over 40C it's 26 on idle 36 on load =]

  • it didnt even look like he spreaded the thermal compound out... your suppose to... better results

  • maybe i will do experiments for my true base

it takes many as5 or mx-2

  • Dont need to be spread out its just most people do, when hsf is put on it pushes it over cpu

  • a)ur heat spreader and heatsink will need a serious lapping after going at it like that.

    b)stock cooling is shit

  • mine idle at 35C and load at 54 :P

  • putting a fan there doesnt really work u idiot

  • His pc is fine, when you look good, each core is about 37C but the total temp of the 2 core's is 60C

  • bull$#!7

  • holy shit dude, i bet you scratched the heatsink

  • Holy shit your CPU runs hot....My AMD 64 X2 6000+ Dual Core clocked @3.0GHz, idles at about 39C, and under FULL LOAD(Crysis), it tops out at 65C....Yours was IDLING at 60C....I know newer CPU's run alot cooler, but damn...BTW I'm using the stock cooling included in the Retail version of my CPU...

  • FIY thermal compounds take some time to activate, they're not instant. The drop in temp comes from keeping ur machine turned off for that time.

    And yes gay music pal!!

  • nice song what is it called?

  • Can i use vodka?

  • I've never laughed so fucking hard. I'd love to see the state of the top of your processor after you ATTACKED it with a credit card and some cloth.... LOL.

You clean both with rubbing alcohol.. then apply (_) much paste to the top of the processor on the mobo and then re-sit the HS and fan to spread it.

And to mid918.. alot of computers have hidden hardware sensors, download "Speedfan" (google search it).. it will show you temperatures, voltages etc. :)

  • I don't think it's a credit card but rather some sort of ID card that it is made of a softer plastic. These materials are rougher than we think. I've never done such task but i'd be more careful anyway. Would you recommend replacing thermal paste once in a while? like let's say once a year? I'm planning to replace some parts (like cpu cooling) for a few quieter ones so i'll have to deal with this task when I'll replace it. Cheers

  • Well, I can see why you'd want to replace it. But the more aged your grease is, the better your performance will be. By the time you'd really have to change it, you'd probably be upgrading anyways. Good luck btw!

  • how do u check the temperature??

  • wow that old stock stuff was DRY

  • mine is 33c idle, 45c with prime 95 running with full load about an hour, and my coolers are set to the balanced mode. thats two times slower so check your your process...

  • Gay song.......

  • word

  • my cpu temperature is 33 C

  • Mine is 32c ldle

    then 40c load

    (Intel P4 Mobile 1.9G)

    what cpu do you have?

  • mine is 33 idle aqnd bout 45 load i have quad core 6700 2.66 ghz

  • What is the name of the japanese song at the beginning?

  • stil hot

  • how many years,do u change the paste?

  • hi well the time actually isnt a years it is every 6 months.

  • 2 girls one cup intro music?

  • Cut your nails mate. What is it with people growing their little fingernail? That's so freakin weird. Not a bad video though.

  • Holy crap!

In your finger and skin there is grease what you put to the CPU-s head when you touche it. You need to remove or wash it wirh alcohol or benzin. Same es the coolers legg.

  • Good video..! I have a question. Which is the second song in your video? thanks

  • Sting - I'll be watching you

  • LOL

Sting - Every Breath you take.

...the first 4 words in the lirycs

  • its actually the Police - Every Breathe You Take...as sting originally recorded this song when he was in the Police

  • my Cpu is AMD x2 3800 someone know the Standar temp? mines is 38-40(with some programs in the back)and when i play games hard 3D in 50-57?

  • Stop watching now. Find a shorter, more concise video and spend the extra time being extra careful with your build!

  • notice cpu temp. my ass

  • it is for a pentium D dik hed

  • too much paste = bad as well btw

  • crrapmusic had to mute but on the up side your vid was informative but the music was torturuos

  • he's an asian...what'd you expect? It's just asian music. There's nothing gay- just be accepting. As for the video, it was good, but a bit too long for what is shown.

  • large amount of thermal compound !!!!

that's amount u have used enough of 24 cpu

  • someones coming out the closet

  • Why is the CPU case on that rubber surface?

  • LMFAO!! Who's the queer with the gay ass music?

  • your music is SOOOO gay, haha! yet the video was informative, thnx

  • I'd try and cool it down with the side ON. Having it off just welcomes dust into it.

    Electricity attracts dust.

  • Especially as he had the big desktop fan BLOWING at the open pc. but yet it was essential at the moment.

  • A few things: Unless the CPU was heavily Overclocked, that was a bad temp. The airflow is better if the computer has both sides on. You used too much thermal paste, it should be an almost transparent layer.

  • It depends of the processor. If I'm not wrong he uses a Pentium D processor, in that case he did well.

  • Yeah, you might be right there, although I'm basing my opinion on the fact that the HSF he's using is the stock C2D. On one of my rigs, with an E6420 @3.2GHz with stock cooling idles at 34*C and maxes out at 55*C. But yeah, if it's a PD thats an average temp.

  • fricken, learn how to edit your video, i dont want to watch you do that crap for ten minuites while listening to your favorite songs.

  • nobody force u to watch this

  • kool. =) sting at the end playing, nice.

  • pasting a blob on cpu or pasting a flat thin layer on hsf. any preference

  • it´s a pentium d?

i have one and it has 40º

sorry if i don´t speak english very well, i´m spanish

  • what is the first song?

    sounds really nice

and good work its not a tutorial these people are stupid

  • Endless story by REIRA starring YUNA ITO

    thanks man

  • Sucky music

  • Congrats. You still fucked up.

My cooler master HS/F on my intel p4 3ghz Prescott idles around 105F.

  • dumb ass.. you just did everything wrong that you could.

    Didn't unplug your computer.

A horrible cleaning of cpu and heatsink.

Your greasy fingers on the cpu heatspreader.

AND WAY TOO MUCH THERMAL PASTE..

  • why is everybody saying i didnt unplug my power cord?! look carefully, i did unplug, and this is not a tutorial, u dumbass

    go learn some moral lesson

  • It doesn't really matter if he unplugged his power or not. As long as he flips the psu switch, he should be fine.

  • nice 2 sond

  • you should have unplugged the computer..

  • the fan that's what i have(no joke)

  • how did u get that black task bar but its not Windows Vista its XP???

  • I'll tell you the program its called Windows Blinds.

  • ok..

  • Check Howtovideozdotcom. There it is a tutorial.

  • ok thx

  • hey i was wondering if u can give me the name and artist to this song plz thx

  • 1.Endless story by REIRA starring YUNA ITO

    2. Every Breath you Take

  • 50ºC in BIOS? Way too hot for being idle in BIOS. Something is wrong somewhere. Either the temperature that it is reporting is wrong or the heatsink is not making proper contact with the processor's IHS.

  • holy s***! dude 5 star rating for having the balls to unclip your cpu without turning off the psu! :)) oh and i agree with the other guy about the thermal grease... too much grease may fry your mobo...

  • I'm sorry but there is a lot of stuff u didn't really do properly in that video. For instance ur not supposed 2 touch the cpu surface after you've cleaned it. Also noticed that u didn't even unplug the computer while taking the cpu out and putting it in. Not to mention it seems like you used too much thermal paste.

  • ok, thanks for guiding....

    will improve next time

  • Very true... just because the syringe has a certain amount, an amount equivalent to half an uncooked grain of rice should be suffecient, make sure you spread it across your whole cpu tho! :)

Unplugging the from the wall and waiting a few minutes for capacitors to discharge would vastly improve your cpu's survival rate.

Im suprised your temps actually improved after all that... Great Job, Good Video.

  • Nice song.

  • may want to ditch that fan, is suspect its RPM is low which is why your getting such shitty temps, try a zalman or something similar

  • well, now with that stock fan, my temperature idle at 50 degree.... with an air-condition room, not bad anyway

  • yea zalman makes great CPU fans, bought 1 4 my Intel P4

  • this song is form nana the movie

  • lol this music is great

  • your airflow is ....%^#$(%*&#$

  • Just a couple recommendations:

You can spread the thermal compound all over the processor using plastic gauntlets.

And you can ask someone for help with the camera while you describe what you are doing, instead of the music, it's more instructive... ;)

    Regards.

PS: Are those stickers in the heatsink fan? xD

  • the music was a little.....eh....but good video

  • haha sorry i cant find any music that time....better than nothing rite?

  • yeah true lol, i also use a fan on the side of my pc but its a huge big azz box fan lol

  • next time use alcohol to wipe out old paste

  • okay, thanks for the info

  • Can you make it any longer lol?

  • no, just a normal stock HSF... changing new thermal paste do raelly help

  • water cooling?
