Some people contest that it was written as a rebuttal to the common belief that man is innately good! Think of it as an investigation into some people's dark sexual psychology.

Great description, I loved the concept as much as I hated watching it, but this was the goal of Pasolini so I think it's very well done for what is was meant to be, choking and disturbing.
I have yet to see 120 days of sodom so I can't really judge on where it stands disturbing wise, but I hardly found A Serbian Film disturbing. I think Aftermath was much worse than A Serbian Film due to the fact that it's believable. Even Megan is Missing was more disturbing than A Serbian Film.

A bunch of fascists feel the allies closing in and have one last decadent party; cue the murder, abuse and lots horrible stuff. For the 70's this was very over the top. The only time i said violence was in the beginning which i took from a new paper review from 1978. It's a really artsy film. And it still stands to this day in my view.
