It's very difficult to get accurate data, according to Wikipedia, Gebrselassie ran the last 200m of his 2000 Olympic 10,000m victory in 25.4 seconds. Tyson's record for 200m is 19.58 seconds.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Gebrselassie could run a 200M sprint at faster than 10,000m pace ;)
What they are saying is that Haile almost has world class speed. All the great long distance runners are also good sprinters. Haile could definitely run a 48-50 second 400.
That's the difference between a pro sprinter and a pro distance runner, they are both super quick but it's that little bit that earns you the millions in either discipline.
haha haile is UNBELIEVABLY fast, but he's not even CLOSE to Tyson Gay in any sprinting event

Haile's last 200m in the 10,000m at the sydney olympics was about 25.6 seconds. Of course that's not 19.58, but still...
