Pretty sure that passive mobs still aren't persistent yet, even when you lead them with you with wheat. So if you explore far-off ravine, you *might* despawn them, I don't know. Depends how far you go. Also, they *might* despawn on logging off.

Muse, passive mobs have a path function that causes them to prefer grass and head towards the highest light value. If you put a torch in the chicken coop then the chicken might prefer to go inside.

This is the same reason you had trouble moving the animals previously. You were trying to push them into the dark and the pathing wanted to go to the well lit grass.

@newworldempire They do prefer light, however in the latest version they prefer natural light (sunlight) to torch light. As long as there is a roof on the coop, they will prefer to stay outside. Hope this helps.

List of things you might consider Muse:

1) Add "Pressure Plates" under each door so that they automatically close.

2) Add one more piece to the ceiling of your bed to make the dripping stop. (Alternatively, you can move the bed.)

3) Create a proper door for your tower (rather than plugging it with dirt.)

4) Break down the fence of Captain Wiggles, since he de-spawned again.

actually the captain wiggles not disappearing every time, it just being passive(player too far away from the mob, probably 24 blocks) for too long time. in the rule of minecraft the mob will disappear of being passive for too long time because so that they wont make the game crash of too many chunks.
