This song is simply AWESOME. Piano, voice, guitar. Three chords. A - D - E. That's it, nothing more is needed. Choirs that remind me of Paul and John harmonizing voices just where they have to fit.
The letter, a little corny? Yes but who cares: High fashion, high passion. :) But they add a touch of humor to the video clip that you forget about that, gifting you an effect of pleasure and a feeling that in just 3 minutes 39 seconds you can have your mood changed more than an hour of anything else.
Esta cancion es IMPRESIONANTE. Simple , piano , voz , guitarra. Tres acordes. A - D - E . Y listo.
The Ghosts are gone and Secret love are the best two songs on the CD but the rest has too much Dave Stewart influence. What's the Euriymitcs make two hits songs with Annie Lenox. Dump Stewart and get back to the hard rocking stevie nicks from fleetwood mac

People I wish Stevie Nicks would do a song with. Peter Gabiel Mike Scott of Waterboys Emmy Lou Harris Alison Krausse Linda Rondstat Anne Wilson of Heart Willie Nelson Dolly Parton And Kate Bush. The fused duet on youtube is brilliant. Anybody Else I missed. She has worked with Natalie Merchant, Sheral Crow, Don Henley, Tom Petty, Bruce Hornesby, Kenny Logins, so she is not a selfish performer. But remember, Dolly Parton has 41 albums made this year.
@passionsnut4 I'm the same way! I go thru periods of not listening to her on a daily basis, but her undeniable magic keeps me coming back. She is truly a legend!
some of us enter a place in time, which takes us through a journey, we've spent a life-time building! I honor what Stevie has done! She continues her passion of writing, singing & sharing her gifts to the world. As a woman, she's held strongly to her love of song; which encompasses 'Life!' Thank you for being intsrumental in my life's changesi Bend a knee at times, but don't fall hard! "Cheaper than Free" has a soft/human feel; country/soulful twist.;reaches the heart of One who's lived!
Ok - I kinda take the 'In Your dreams' is my favorite song back - Cheaper Than Free is now the top contender - wow girl, you can still SO do it! God bless you, Stevie - love always xxxxxxx
The first time I heard this song, I thought (after I cried ), was welcome back Stevie! Heartfelt and full of emotion. Naysayers nay, Stevie could always tug at my heartstings. I Still Miss Someone(Blue Eyes) still devastates me to this day and don't get me started on Talk To Me! OMG!!!! Check out Italian Summer and tell me one cannot be moved by that!!! Welcome home my Stevie!
Gorgeous video with superb singing and instrumentation. Stevie and Dave look like they had a blast recording this video. I think Stevie sounds better on In Your Dreams than she did on Trouble In Shangri-la. It's the first album I've heard in a long time that I've liked immediately. Favourite song? Italian Summer! Would love to see a video for that. The people posting negative comments about Stevie are not fans; they're just acting like trolls. YouTube should create an anti-Stevie filter for us.
@morganucopia This is a FREE forum for everyone to post their views. Sorry it is not a refuge for blind fans. And by the way, I for one have always been a lover of Stevie's music. This is dreadful though, and I have a right to express how I feel just like you do. Can't handle it? Then don't read my posts. This lame cd will end up in the bargain bin by summer's end. The fact that it's not doing well is perhaps a sign?
She had a good run. That's all! I sometimes think coke was her true muse. Be happy with the memories. She should really hang up her top hat and scarves & rest. We all age. She just seems like a caricature of her past incarnations all rolled into one, & with a weak voice to boot! A constant theme seems to be "She looks so great! " Well, does she? How can you tell? Do most people glow & appear out of focus? & what does it matter what she looks like? It's about music, right? This is a trainwreck.
I suspect something weird is going on here - it seems only a small handful of handles bashing Stevie's new album (most professional reviews of this new album have been GREAT - like COMEBACK GRAMMY GREAT). Is it possible there is some rival record label subterfuge going on? That's what it seems like to me because the criticism seems strange and non-organic. Kind of thing DOES happen in the music industry in this internet age. I think it might be happening right here in these comments.
@killertire SN is a rock legend & DOES deserve some respect for her past accomplishments, but this album simply fails. SN used to weave strangely magical poetry with a raw, powerful vocal delivery. Yes, this is a simple song, but it's a BAD one. My 12-year-old niece could have written the rhyming lines, the sound is overproduced, & the vocals sound sleepy. It's almost the antithesis of music. The video is embarrassing. It boils down to what you demand from an artist. This cd is just dull & lazy.
And she LOOKS wonderful. The woman is 62 years old and has been cranking out music for 40 years. It's sort of like, at this point, just give respect where respect is due. I think people are harder on aging women in pop/rock than they are on aging men. Mick Jagger looks and sounds like a beat-up catcher's mitt but doesn't get this kind of flack.
The only valid criticism of Stevie Nicks as an artist is that she abused so much cocaine in the 70s that her voice changed for the worse. Any Stevie fan would agree that her younger voice was better. But even WITH that fault, she's managed to shape her singing voice into something different and interesting. Yeah the goat jokes are funny but the sound works for her.
I am absolutely baffled by some of the negative comments. This is a truly lovely, wonderful little song. It is simple and sweet and stripped down, a VERY WELCOME respite from all the over-produced Gaga, Katy Perry, Kei$ha crap saturating the market lately. Do you think younger girls will be inspired by and covering Kei$ha in 30 years? LOL. Meanwhile almost every significant young TALENTED female (and some male) artists of the past 2 decades have cited Nicks as an influence.
@ferbert716 i agree..loved it even more after watching..I'm sickened by the negative comments.Needless to say..the album isnt doing much on Billboard..and i hate that.It deserves much more..check out "Italian Summer".
Heartfelt music is music that really captures the essence of love. This captures Stevie's desire to be lazy and have people write her music for her, which is exactly what happened with this album. In all her career, she has never made anything below "excellent", save a few songs with Fleetwood Mac, but this is an abomination, if only because it comes from her. What about her ability to weave intricate tales of love? She's forgotten herself, and doesn't seem to care.
This is more like the opposite of heartfelt music. It's calculated, weak, and uninspired. It's a reminder that true art has a window of time when everything seems to line up just right & magic happens. There is no magic here at all. Rather then reinvent herself like a true artist would perhaps do, she does the same old crap, but now it seems so childish & almost grotesque. She desperately tries to lay down a vocal track with her ragged voice, but it just sounds like an aged sheep on Klonopin.
Stevie has given us some great love songs, like "Love Is", "I Sing For The Things", "Crystal", and now she gives us this. How can someone who weaved such intricate love songs settle for something that is so nonsensical? Some argue it is simplistic; a simple song of hers would be "Rose Garden". This is just rubbish compared to her previous work. It is absolutely awful. I love Stevie, but I think that she's lost it. 10 years, and this is what we get.
OMG! Truth or illusion? Does it really matter? Wow. This is really awful. The hippo tap dancing with the big pink glasses that cover half her face? All the staged "candid" moments, particulary the ones with the creepy guy, reaching across the pianos at the end? Barf! (Does she even play the piano, or is it just another prop??) I've heard a ten-minute demo where she mostly just chants the name "Cecelia." That seemed more like art than this flat mess. The past is gone. This is a tired caricature.
This is the 2nd song I've heard from the CD and I do not care for either, shame because I was looking forward to the release. I have always been a Stevie fan but I really think its time for her to retire.
I'll decide if I want to reply or not -thanks. Heeheehee. "I rest my case"? How? You want to characterize a stranger over the internet in a certain way due to being critical of a simple cd, yet you have no real justification for your statements. People who say "I rest my case" are those who simply cannot articulate a clear response. I criticized a new music cd (a thing), yet u criticized me (a person). WTF? No need to reply. I have no interest in anything you try to spell . . .
Im Not Sure What All Your Problems Are But Stevie Has Never Sounded Better Her Music Is As Beautiful, Passionate, Inspiring, &v Rockin As Ever I Saw Her Live & She Sound Amazing She Sounds Even Better Live......I Can't Wait To See Her Live Again.
Your New Album Is Wonderful Pure Magic.....So Come On People She Is In Her Early 60's & Still Rockin It Like No Other & Sounds Just As Good If Not Better Than Ever.....Much Love Stevie Love All Your Music. Keep on Rockin
This is a very simple, but deep love song.I really like the chemistry between Stevie & Dave.Their voices blend beautifully.I love Stevie and have since the early 70's.I for one will buy this CD/DVD tomorrow based on the songs I have heard on Youtube.I am thrilled to have found this on here so soon after it's release ,thank you! msstevie ♥
People seem to be blinded by their love for this woman. I have been a fan for years, but at this point I have to be honest. This video is so phony, self-indulgent, corny, dull, embarrassing, hokey, flat, lifeless, cheesy, sexless, musty, & nauseating. Production tricks aside, her voice is simply shot, and she really has nothing much to say beyond her vague romantic rhymes and ramblings minus the coke and Buckingham. People really think this music is original and interesting? Maybe if you're 13.
@MACnRaleigh I feel she's taken measures to make improvements, but . . . something's been lost, & it's never come back. I realize my previous post may have been a little harsh. I do believe she's a remarkable person in many ways. She was one of the few female rockers back in the day, & she could truly rock! I don't know too many older musicians who have such passionately LOYAL fans. I guess that says something. Yet to me, she now seems self-conscious & overly cautious, which effects her art.
@MACnRaleigh AMEN! She still has it as far as I can hear.I first heard this yesterday and can not get it out of my head.My first thought was wow! that's a genuine love song & their voices blend so perfectly! Just beautiful! ♥
You must be looking in the mirror and seeing your own inner heart. You know nothing about love it's plain to see, and I feel very sorry for you for that. I never understand why people have nothing better to do then put other people down. One things for sure, I bet shes living live a whole lot better then those of you who discrimate others to make yourselfs feel important.
@rjgodswarrior Tell me, how does not liking a cd & saying so discriminatory? To me, THIS CD (not the artist) is painful, tedious, predictable, & dull. This record is like a death rattle, & she sounds like a goat who can only make flat, lifeless sounds through its nose. And how does not liking a cd equal no love life?? I am happily in a deep, committed, loving relationship, so maybe that's why I don't find it necessary to spend my time worshipping at the altar of Stevie like a 12-year-old. : )
love the lyrics...what's deeper than a deep well ~ the love into which I fell ~ more important than freedom ~ being needed ~ more exciting than high fashion ~ high passion ~ what's brighter than a smile ~ you child ~
I love this video!! It makes me think of "The Exorcist" for some reason. It's good to see Stevie at the piano. She's quite the player. Remember her stunning rendition of Rhiannon, how it plodded earnestly along, almost like chopsticks? She should do an album full of songs of just her singing and playing the piano. How revealing that would be! Well, regardless, her piano sure is a big pretty one! It must be fun to take pictures with!! ROCK ON GOLD DUST WOMAN!!!! xxxooo
Stevie and Dave sound great together and ,obviously hed alot of fun putting this video and this song together. After all the years, Stevie's beautiful voice sounds as strong and as emotionally moving as ever. You're the best, Stevie...get well soon!
Yes, exactly. So real. Every frame seems so fluid and natural. Not staged or edited at all. Just pure real. I almost got a tear in my eye when they reached toward each other from across the oxygen tank.
@cwild1122 Oh I know the Rumors album front to back. I just think it's GREAT that Glee gave Fleetwood Mac the same attention they give artists like Katie Perry et al. I think the Kids Bop comment is a little mean. You can watch video of Steve on the set of Glee talking about how excited she was about the show. In the clip Stevie goes on to call ver visit to the set "one of the best days of her life". Soooooo if it's good enough for Stevie it's good enough for me!
So happy that Ms. Nicks is getting some much deserved attention in 2011.
Those who didn't see Glee 's tribute to the Rumors Album MUST check it out. That's right kids, there's REAL music out there, not just the mass produced pop and rap you hear repeated over and over again on the radio each day.
I'm in tears...this song is so simple yet sweet and I would swear I have felt it before . This album gives me goosebumps as it did the first time I heard Rhiannon...Truely she is the best of all the rest.
Dave Stewart is so lucky. He must be really special. He's had the sexiest and most talented women in rock: Annie Lennox back in the day and Stevie Nicks now!
I love Stevie and it is so nice to get this great CD of songs. I can't wait until she comes to Houston and I will be in the front row with roses! I'm so happy for her!
That's pretty cool if Stevie's in love. It's about time. I don't know anything about Dave Stewart though. That's a really nice song. I just hope Dave takes care of her. Happy Mother's Day Stevie Nicks! She's got millions of kids that she helped to raise - her fans.
Damn how does this woman just keep improving with age ? She isn't just the Queen of Rock , she's the Queen of Everything !! Rock on Stevie we love you you're the best !!

some of us enter a place in time, which takes us through a journey, we've spent a life-time building!

I was wrong.

Okay...so when is the documentary release? This is really the key that unlocks the meaning of your recent released work.

YouTube should create an anti-Stevie filter for us.
morganucopia 9 months ago

This is a trainwreck.
eayots 9 months ago
Love it!!! Thank you Stevie , for years of GREAT music from a wonderful voice and a BEAUTIFUL LADY

I think it might be happening right here in these comments.
killertire 9 months ago
@killertire SN is a rock legend & DOES deserve some respect for her past accomplishments, but this album simply fails. SN used to weave strangely magical poetry with a raw, powerful vocal delivery. Yes, this is a simple song, but it's a BAD one. My 12-year-old niece could have written the rhyming lines, the sound is overproduced, & the vocals sound sleepy. It's almost the antithesis of music. The video is embarrassing. It boils down to what you demand from an artist. This cd is just dull & lazy.
llahmitswr 9 months ago 2
And she LOOKS wonderful. The woman is 62 years old and has been cranking out music for 40 years. It's sort of like, at this point, just give respect where respect is due. I think people are harder on aging women in pop/rock than they are on aging men. Mick Jagger looks and sounds like a beat-up catcher's mitt but doesn't get this kind of flack.
killertire 9 months ago
The only valid criticism of Stevie Nicks as an artist is that she abused so much cocaine in the 70s that her voice changed for the worse. Any Stevie fan would agree that her younger voice was better. But even WITH that fault, she's managed to shape her singing voice into something different and interesting. Yeah the goat jokes are funny but the sound works for her.
killertire 9 months ago
I am absolutely baffled by some of the negative comments. This is a truly lovely, wonderful little song. It is simple and sweet and stripped down, a VERY WELCOME respite from all the over-produced Gaga, Katy Perry, Kei$ha crap saturating the market lately. Do you think younger girls will be inspired by and covering Kei$ha in 30 years? LOL. Meanwhile almost every significant young TALENTED female (and some male) artists of the past 2 decades have cited Nicks as an influence.

She's forgotten herself, and doesn't seem to care.
zzxxqy 9 months ago
This is more like the opposite of heartfelt music. It's calculated, weak, and uninspired. It's a reminder that true art has a window of time when everything seems to line up just right & magic happens. There is no magic here at all. Rather then reinvent herself like a true artist would perhaps do, she does the same old crap, but now it seems so childish & almost grotesque. She desperately tries to lay down a vocal track with her ragged voice, but it just sounds like an aged sheep on Klonopin.
ivoguy 9 months ago
Stevie's still got it---and always will---this is true-heartfelt music!
vernonkayla 9 months ago
Stevie has given us some great love songs, like "Love Is", "I Sing For The Things", "Crystal", and now she gives us this. How can someone who weaved such intricate love songs settle for something that is so nonsensical? Some argue it is simplistic; a simple song of hers would be "Rose Garden". This is just rubbish compared to her previous work. It is absolutely awful. I love Stevie, but I think that she's lost it. 10 years, and this is what we get.
zzxxqy 9 months ago
This is a tired caricature.
llahmitswr 9 months ago

I have no interest in anything you try to spell . . .

Maybe if you're 13.
eayots 9 months ago
@eayots "her voice is simply shot"... you clearly haven't seen her live lately, as it SO is NOT...
MACnRaleigh 9 months ago 3
@MACnRaleigh I feel she's taken measures to make improvements, but . . . something's been lost, & it's never come back. I realize my previous post may have been a little harsh. I do believe she's a remarkable person in many ways. She was one of the few female rockers back in the day, & she could truly rock! I don't know too many older musicians who have such passionately LOYAL fans. I guess that says something. Yet to me, she now seems self-conscious & overly cautious, which effects her art.
eayots 9 months ago
@MACnRaleigh AMEN! She still has it as far as I can hear.I first heard this yesterday and can not get it out of my head.My first thought was wow! that's a genuine love song & their voices blend so perfectly! Just beautiful! ♥
msstevie1951 9 months ago
@eayots
You must be looking in the mirror and seeing your own inner heart. You know nothing about love it's plain to see, and I feel very sorry for you for that. I never understand why people have nothing better to do then put other people down. One things for sure, I bet shes living live a whole lot better then those of you who discrimate others to make yourselfs feel important.
rjgodswarrior 9 months ago
@rjgodswarrior Tell me, how does not liking a cd & saying so discriminatory? To me, THIS CD (not the artist) is painful, tedious, predictable, & dull. This record is like a death rattle, & she sounds like a goat who can only make flat, lifeless sounds through its nose. And how does not liking a cd equal no love life?? I am happily in a deep, committed, loving relationship, so maybe that's why I don't find it necessary to spend my time worshipping at the altar of Stevie like a 12-year-old. : )

ROCK ON GOLD DUST WOMAN!!!! xxxooo
