I love the song and thank God for the testimony. One writer said that the song did not glorify God. The Bible says, We overcome by the word of our testimonies. Victory is God's and only through Him do we acquire it, so God is glorified through this song. The focus should be on what Jesus has done for us, not celebrating personal achievement. It may sound nice, but it doesn't draw attention away from self to Christ. It arguably keeps one's attention on one's self for 3:24 (see my note about 1st person pronouns). It does catch the ear, though, I must admit. No big deal, just an observation and a cautionary note. I don't want to start a discussion about it, I just think the song, despite its intent or other merits, reinforces a troubling tendency among us to view the Faith as a kind of personal growth technique.

I disagree with that comment on how brandon wrote this about a girl. He came to my summer camp that i was working at, Lost Canyon, and he said it was about his parents. They got a divorce and it took a while to forgive them. He said if you have anyone you need to forgive, than don't wait because you'll regret it.
