Spur stop? You actually taught a horse that? I can't find any other way to say this: You're ruining him.

The only thing he'll ever be good at is solely Western Pleasure. You are supposed to use leg contact to move him forward, not to stop him. If you ever want to be any kind of a trainer, I recommend teaching him collection with slight bit contact (and NOT that yank-and-crank WP crap) then gradually loosen the reins when he has learned "self-carriage".

This was 2 years ago, and I think I know how to train my own horse.

I trained him for spur stop at that age and he's perfectly fun now and is an amazing hunter under saddle horse , and an amazing western pleasure horse. I definitely didn't ruin him by teaching him spur stop. And i definitely didn't 'yank and crank' on him ever, he never needed it. I suggest you don't comment on other peoples stuff because you never know the circumstances of their horse.

Yeah I do but I haven't ridden him in a whlie cuz he got a tooth removed but I'll get 1 up and hes doin pretty great : ).

Beautiful lope!!! He doesn't even bend his front leg! The trot is really quite nice too, you just need to ask a little more of it. It is kinda soon yet, I know, but it will be stunning as well!!!!!

Thank you very very much. We will be showing in the Missouri Paint Horse Circuit if you ever go to any of those shows. I havent done anything to his lope. He just does his thing and it's great. I love this horse

Thank you very much. I do hardly anything with his headset. He holds it that way himself. I fix it every once in a while tho
