lol mustang, i totally understand... the people in charge of planning our live are catering to the weakest group and we all have to see stuff like that. My city is putting 3ft high poles in the middle of the roads to make us slow down to go between them EVEN THOUGH there's eneough room to go by slowly or fast, at least it only impedes the dumbasses. Those trees are funny in my opinion, shows how stupid people are... we need obstacles to keep us alert while operating vehicles that weigh tones.

the benefit of the trees would be, not having to go over the extremely slow if you have a low car. some people have exotic cars that wouldn't make it over the speed bumps without scraping.

They're not as effective as normal speed bumps, cause there's no way of evoiding a speed bump.After a while of going around the trees you start to figure out just how fast you can go .Most of the people that have a problem with speeding would also try to go around the trees as fast as possible

Also, in Britian the houses these are outside of, the front door of the house is 1m or less from the road, not huge gardens like this.

Hi, We have stupid trafic calming things like this in England too but instead of trees we have solid metal posts on a raised curb to crash into, but with a bit of practise you can get round them without slowing down and when you get good you can even swerve or drift round them at higher speed but watch the curbs if you clip them they will Fuck up your tyres and even your wheels if you hit them hard - These are here to slow you down so when speeding though them watch out for children!!

The ones in parking lots are usually too high for smal cars to navigate safely (we don't drive SUV's so we have to shift to first gear on most of them to avoid tearing the oil pan off) but I live on a street where people don't pay any attention to the speed limit and I would suffer one in front of my house to slow those maniacs down.

When I was in HS, they installed about twenty of those on a residential street kids used as a short cut. It was an effort to reduce the speeding, but it had the opposite effect. The students would fly through as fast as possible like chicanes on an F1 track. A few months later the county ended up putting speed bumps in anyway. Good job budgeting tax money to make a rediculous road.

They're fairly standard actually in roadway design. They create chicanes, and force you to take the road slower. You shouldn't be going fast enough in a residential area to have to swerve out of the way. Anyway, you see a tree coming better than you see a speed bump coming anyway. They're a rather intelligent design.

Alright, I apologize for the quick and hasty judgements on your personal life. However, I still don't see why the trees "in the middle of the road" are wrong. It's pretty apparent in the video that you filmed that the trees are of at the side of the road, with enough space to drive by safely and slowly. If you drive carefully, those should be no problem.

our opinions differ. you have to swerve to avoid them assuming you stay to the right or the left of the road and not in the middle. in my opinion its an obstructtion. also causes a traffic problem if two cars are going opposite ways at that same point at the same time. its like someone is holding a constant large party and people are parking on the side of the road 24/7.

the traffic problem is the general idea. we have them at our schools in denmark, and they are far more effective than speedbumps. also it forces people to being less agressive in the traffic. we also have them on frequent bus rutes, because the bus drivers, over time hurt their backs on speedbumps (even at very slow speeds). i also think they look a bit nicer.
