I've seen Vince perform twice in the early 90's, in the Netherlands. What a fantastic artist! Voice that creates goosebumps on demand, and a beautiful melancholic trumpet sound. Bought all his records over the past 20 years. I must have played Blue at least 400 times now, but it still brings tears to my eyes. Pity that he does not come to Europe anymore.
Another beautiful song, Vince. Thank you for your music. This song moved me, and made me think maybe I can do my ( little ) art again, one day...Such a touching song.... SImple, and pure and graceful...THIS is art..
I've loved Vince from the moment he raised his fingers gently to his mouth and ever so quietly said "shhhhhhh". He silenced the drunken Basement crowd in a millisecond and had us all mesmerised for the next two hours. Agem personified.
@glengowan06 I saw him at the Jazz Cafe in Camden in London about 18 years ago and the noise was bothering him but the building was so badly laid out the open plan bar disturbed the performing area so he couldn't do anything about it - pretty lame considering The Jazz Cafe is custom built! They got it so wrong
Vince was so cute, at one point he goes "wow, this is stressful" In spite of the crap venue he was magical - he certainly dominated the circumstances eventually coz he was just so great
Well, I don't have children, and I've never met Vince, but I am freaking out right now about my Uni work which is all due tomorrow... and Vince is helping me to chill. That's what he's always done better than anyone else... Thanks Vince.
Likewise - I named my first son after Vince and VJ got to meet him as a baby. He's 20 now and studying music at Leeds University. He's a great violin player and pianist now.
in 1987..vinces voice was the only to put my baby daughter sleep...it was so difficult ..but vince was the answer....now shes 23 and has met vince and an entertainer herself...living in melb...now
