A vegetrarin friend of mine told me that I'm not "evolved" because I eat meat. He said that people ony started eating cows thousands of years ago because they were savages, they were barbarians and they didn't know any better. People who eat cows are not evolved.
What a bunch of bullsh!t. People ate cows thousands of years ago for the same reason we eat cows today.
Because they are easy to catch.
Were not savages, were just lazy.
A cheetah could taste like chocolate heroin, we'll never know.

Red meat 'linked to cancer risk'
There are health concerns over red meat
A major study has found fresh evidence linking eating red and processed meat and bowel cancer, scientists say.
The European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) looked at the dietary habits of over 500,000 people across Europe over 10 years.
EPIC's study is reported in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
We've?? So you know all about "we've"??? Tell me 300, 500, 750 & 1000,000 years ago, what did the "Doctor" put in his report as the cause of death when a person died[hah,ha, ha, giggle, he, heh] sorry, anyone, anyone??
My mom's a nurse, and she says doctors doing a colonoscopy can pick out who eats a lot of meat. They have lots of polyps and diverticulie (little pockets that form on the intestine wall) which are filled permanently with fecal material that never gets passed through. These are what often become cancerous,
@NihilistImp My mom's a psychologist, and she says that people who always feel the need to criticize, direct, and otherwise judge other people's lives probably suffer from a personality disorder - which often leads to suicide.
I agree with you 100%. Except for the million years part :) hahaha. It's more like 10,000 years. However, eating red meat is nothing like people perceive. Protein is necessary and that's just a fact. Yes, eating poultry or seafood may be healthier because of their vitamins, but in no way is eating steak going to kill you...
@USGiorgi Our ancestors have been omnivores for well over 2 million years. Cave paintings of hunting alone, are over 100,000 years old. Our anatomy, digestive tracts, our ability to break down fats, etc, have taken millions of years to evolve to this point. Not sure where you got a 10,000 years number, unless you are approaching this from a creationist point of view.
@apo115 To begin with, I just want to let you know that i'm sharing what i've learned in a couple of courses I took early on in my college career. Our digestive systems are supposedly not "designed" to process meat while we still have the ability to without many negative side-effects. Basically, to the best of my knowledge we're unable to fully process meat as efficient as plants but we can still do it. That being said, i'm grilling a NY prime right now.
Red meat may lead to bowel cancer because the proteins haven't gotten broken down into simpler proteins (which is why its red), but i doubt its going to kill you unless you eat steak every single day, and that would eventually become hard to eat, whoever is that stubborn/rich had it coming
WTF ...
