my sister is only eight and she says stefan from the vampire diaries looks like merry. i can kinda see what she means i guess because stefan does kind of look like merry. not in the hair, of course. Only in the face. She has this crazy idea of elena from tvd and frodo getting together and stefan being mery's son. caroline as sam and rosies, ect. lol she's crazy!

Oh, I feel the same way that you do, If I think about someone I don't know who is real (or I know as much about a real person as I do about some of the characters) Then I feel weird, but with characters, I love them! I write their names all over my notebooks! I am proud to be the nerd that I am, and at least I have nerdy friends who understand me.

It's too bad the director spent so much more time with the battle scenes than the hobbit ones. I didn't really appreciate Merry's character until I had read the books, and now I realize that he should have gotten a lot more credit than he did. The movie just seemed to group him in with Pippin. If Merry were real, I would stalk him. :D (not the actor, but the character)

 I adore the innocence of hobbits!

In my country most of girls were crazy about Legolas (Orli) and paid no attention to them! Really... I still don't get it! XD Only internet browsing showed me that in english speaking countries there are Merry (and Pippin) fans...

I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong, Legolas was awesome... but hell, so was Aragon... they were the 'kool' guys. Merry and Pippin were on a whole other level, and really, picking a fav in the entire group would be imposable for me. XD lol

But that said... Merry and Pippin always had a special place in my heart. Just great characters, funny, cute... and despite their size and all, were very brave. Their just full of heart! Who couldn't love them?? D=

I was like Legolas -- uhm, yeah, he's ok. Same with future king... I just liked them... Others in films were just ok to me... I loved hobbits most. All four I have to say. I felt very related to them, their way of life... Of course i loved Frodo, Sam and Pippin! And who wouldn't? -- But Merry - OMG, my biggest sweetheart ever! XD

It's a pity I cannot be such a child again! DAMMIT! :p

But anyway, Hobits do have this childlike innocent aura around them huh. =) It's a shame we all one day lose that I suppose, but it makes them very unique and lovable indeed. >3
