  • Barbara Kent was the last survivor of all the girls 0:50. She passed away on 13th October 2011. RIP to one of the very few survivors of silent era. :'( :'(

  • I am old but still a child :'(

  • who is the girl at 2.10 ?

  • awesome song and video :))

  • most gifted band of all time

  • Words fail me. Such a beautiful song!

  • Barbara Kent is in there , she just died last thursday 103 years old.

  • This one video is fantastic. Who are these women beautiful?

  • RIP Buris (my cat) and all other cats that have graced my house.

  • a cat of bryan? wow!!! he's so cute. also a cat lover when he was young. and me too, but i have only 2 dogs left now since the cats hear where verry fun of going out and live in our house and now they're gone.

  • Yessssssssssssssss!

  • Totally awesome is QUEEN. Even from back in the late 60s when they were college buds playing ORIGINAL rock music at frat parties, local pubs & whatnot...in fact, QUEEN is the ONLY rock band that can boast that ALL 4 members are actual college graduates, majoring in music which, explains THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME. Sorry but, it's true - the Stones, Zeppelin, Boston, Rush - you name 'em - NONE of them can compare to the virtuosos that are QUEEN!! Only the Beatles can MAYBE come close!

  • @Korvinski

Brian 'majored' in Astronomy, Freddie in Fine Art and Graphic Design hence the album covers to "A Night" and "A Day"

  • @jatrius ~ thanks ~I stand corrected ~ but, the fact still remains that due to their higher learning at such an early stage in their careers only added to their talent, gave them a clearer understanding of our universe and, I believe gave them an early edge in their musical abilities.

  • who is the girl at 2:18?

  • @UltimateIronGiant It's Norma Talmadge.

  • Amy Winehouse is just dead, and this was the first song that ran through my head:'(

  • I just found out that this song was about May's cat. Makes me think of mine, who died at age 20 in March of last year. RIP, Tiamat.

  • i think i have watched/listened to this 100 times now,so great you did an awesome job!!

  • Barbara Kent (0:49-0:52) is still alive.

  • very well done video, so suited to the song. Thanks a lot

  • who is the girl at 0:14

  • @siothurn It's Mary Brian.

  • @siothurn thought it was mary pickford?

  • does anyone know the girl from 1:46-148?

  • @muncleike It's Mary Miles Minter.

  • @chissykim thank you! shes very pretty

  • Actually, Barbara Kent is still alive! Albeit, she denies her bygone days as an actress.

  • @RickumsMcJames My God, she's 104! God bless her.

  • Not to take anything away from Quenn, but this song always makes me think of the Beatles. Such a beautiful tune.

  • @bodayshus have you ever listen "live is real"

  • Norma Shear my fav

  • Would like to know the names of these ladies, in order. I don't recognize them by their faces. They're all beautiful.

  • I haven't heard this song! Lovely use of the photos. Nice video, touching.

  • Certainly one of my favorites by the Queen group

  • At the beginning of the song, when the piano is hears, one can mentally recite the following thought:

    Memories, my memories

    How long can you stay

    To haunt my days

I think this lyrics should not be missed, they are part of the lyrics song

  • @LuisV77 when the piano is heard, pardon me...

  • Beautiful choice of women and beautiful choice of tune. Excellent job of crumbling my immortality. Bittersweet defeat.

  • awsome

  • That was a wonderful video, so many beautiful women and such a great song...I was really touched. Thank you.

  • @RoadDog8444 You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Wow. Beautifful. I would also love to propose a toast to the photographic artists who captured these images of these ladies. They caught them so well that, even after all this time, they are still gorgeous and keep inspiring us to strive to be more than we think we can be.

  • Number 14, Barbara Kent, is still alive at 103 years.

  • I've only watched one movie of Barbara Kent, 'Flesh and the Devil' released in 1926, the fragment of her praying to God for preventing two friends from a duel touched me.

  • Love this clip, good job indeed!

  • Norma Shearer and Clark Gable in 'A free Soul', wonderful performance!

  • Is Fay Wray there in the clip?

  • Yes, at 1:19

  • thx, her co-stared with Clark Gable in 'the finger points' of 1931 let me got to know her.

  • If she still alive, Norma Shearer will be popular even today.

  • Clara Bow was amazing in the movie "It" and "Wings".

  • I love this song !

  • Dead means GAME OVER...No exceptions to the human condition...

Never let it come that far! NEVER

  • I was around 11 years old and playing LL baseball at Mexican Park when this song came out, known as Magnolia Park in East end Houston, Tx., a section of proud Houston called 'MAGNOLIA'. Many of my friends were killed there and I still recall them.Little Johnnie killed in the back of a cab, Rudy Resendes stabbed to death, Manuel O. stabbed to death, Mighty Mike Vasquez stabbed to death, and white boy John, beaten to death. Their laughs and friendships is what I remember the most. in Peace

  • jesus man!! tough park!! hope your friends are resting well, they were so young.

  • amazing

  • In fact this song is not about al lady who died but it is about a cat that Brian was very fond of when he was young.

  • True :)

  • I know EXACTLY how he feels.

  • Well, that's who he wrote it for, but the lyrics really aren't that specific. I'd say they are open for interpretation. :)

  • @webaapje so do many say, but is it true......

we dont know brian never said it himself, well not at a time for anyone to record it or something.

but i myself think your wright

  • So very touching...both the music is matched so beautifully to the still photos.

    Thank you.

  • This was absolutely wonderful. Imagine what it would have been like for them back then...who is the actress shown at 2minutes 36/37 seconds?

  • Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

The actress at 2 minutes 36/37 is Clara Bow - the original "It girl". She is also shown at 1 minute 55/56.

  • what about the one at 2:25? she's so pretty :> and good job!

  • @kistvan

That's Gloria Swanson at 2:25. And thanks! :)

  • Miriam Seegar is still alive. Only two "Adult Silent Screen Stars" are still alive now.

  • I believe that Dorothy Janis is still alive as well (aged 98). So, with Miriam and Barbara Kent that makes three.

And there may be a few more.

  • You are right, I am sorry. According to wikipedia, there are three silent screen stars still alive, who were adults at the time their careers started. The rest were children.

  • Anita Page died in her sleep on September 6, 2008 (aged 98) in Los Angeles, California of natural causes.

  • olivia de havilland 92, joan fontaine 91 living legends

  • All dead except one, Anita Page is alive and kicking at 98.

  • All dead except two. Barbara Kent (two slides before Anita) is still alive at 101.

But listen to the lyrics when Barbara and Anita are shown.

  • Not now.

  • to bad thats not still true she died yesterday
