Falco absolutely was a great entertainer. Dance Mephisto is one of the greatest songs...as a performer he was always engaged...thats what makes a great talent. He should be in the rock n roll hall of fame...regardless if he was more revered in Germany / Austria.than in US. Taco is NOTHING like Falco - bad comparison.

I had the pleasure of meeting this charismatic enigma of a man as a youth - Perhaps I was too young to realize the awesomeness that stood in my midst, but I worked at a bar on the lower east side in the late 80s & Falco would stop by whenever he hit NYC as the place was a real dive. He'd love a fresh pint of Stella & would charm me with tales of life on the road & that sightly slimy yet impish little grin of his. I always told him he was made for politics, but he said NEIN! He wanted to RAWK!

There was a HUGE riot in 89 when Taco was trying to break back on the scene with some tawdry little pop song of his. Falco DESPISED Taco & when he heard his song playing over the loudspeaker, a riot ensued. The bar burned down to tha gwound. Its now an H&M, & its original history is lost, consumed by that fickle minx NYC

I believe it all started when Falco showed a lady Taco was very fond of, Katya Puschitinalov a night she would never forget. I interviewed her for the bio I'm working on & all she said was 'WOWOWEE FALCO!' Then the rivalry that ensued was akin to that of Tupac & Biggie smalls & culminated in the death of Falco.

Falco ROCKED most of Europe, & his catalog goes well beyond the chart smashing 'Rock Me Amadeus'. Same, Taco was mostly into theatrics & recreations of older musical numbers, such as "Ritz" & "Singin' in the Rain". In the late 80's, he tried his hand at pop w some cheap Rick Astley soundalike numbers & this enraged Falco. He once embraced Taco as a peer, but began to find him pathetic.
