  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard . I would like an old fashioned wedding with this song as one of the songs at my wedding.

  • The woman I marry will NEVER, in a million years want to walk down the aisle to this song. The woman I marry will want to walk down the aisle to Pour Some Sugar On Me. I have not met this woman yet and I'm not sure if she exists. But if you are out there and you're reading this... Will you marry me?... No, eh?... Well... Fuck you.

  • searching for mendelssohn and finding wagner, baaah!

  • know the woman im gonna marry...id prefer the other but also know she may go with the basics

  • How did people ever know perfect fourths by ear before this?

  • This is what I remember from primary school...

    Here comes the bride

    all dressed in white

    slipped on a banana peel

    and went for a ride......

lol thumbs up if you remember this!

  • Playing this at my funeral!

  • The origin of this song isn't a happy one at all. Lohengrin is pretty tragic.

  • Yes

  • I want this at my wedding on the organ with the melody in the 32 foot pedal and eye-blasting arpeggios in counterpoint soaring above like majestic eagles, trading paces between soft and loud registers, meanwhile the organist has a thumb or two working to double the melody in the middle register (preferably on a manual not already occupied by his flying fingers).

  • @defthm sick jargon bro

  • @defthm @defthm are you sure you want this?

Do you know from wich opera this song is and how that opera ended? search on wikipedia for lohengrin opera ;)

Do you still want to have it played on you're wedding?

  • @LaPoscho

    Oh Well.

The Blue Danube is anything but blue and beautiful (more like brown and polluted), but people still love the Waltz.

  • @defthm only if you alternate the 32' with chimes... oh, and, good luck finding those organs with a 32' in the pedal division!

  • @emusici That's when you hire a Nordic dude named Hammerfist Murderblood to bang it out. That would be a wedding - insane organist with Prof. Murderblood on the chimes.

  • At 0:43, what does the song change into?

  • Forget this chorus, I am going with the pilgrims chorus!!!

  • Here comes the bride

    all fat and wide

    here comes the groom

    sweeping with the broom

    why's he doin this stuff

    The bride has dandruff!

  • here comes the bride.

    all dressed in white.

    where is the groom?

    he's in the laidies' room.

    why is he there?

    he lost his underwear!!!

  • i Need this song!! and i need it for tomorrow i need the mp3 inbox me please if u have it

  • I noticed most Brides nowaday prefer the Prince Of Denmark, but I like this Bridal Chorus better.

  • i want to be a bride........... =')

  • someday i wanna get married and have a nice healthy family......( what?! a girl can dream!)

  • is the composer the known Wagner from Germany who composed also operas and was known as supporting ideas that became also nazi ideology later? just interested to know. thanks

  • @JusticeVSpropaganda He was a German Romantic, yes, but he was never explicitly into anti-semitism any more than anyone else of his era. So his ideas have a lot to do with the strong nationalism of Germany, but not much to do with the Nazis aside from their Nationalist stance ("Deutschland uber alles"). He could be seen, more accurately, as aligned with the reactionary stance of Otto Von Bismarck and other Prussian right-wingers of his time.

  • @DelphinusMAch1

dude, deutschland über alles was written duringa time when our country was divided into many many many tiny princedoms, it means germany as a whole shall stand above all the lone parts of it.

jesus, the anthem was written on 26. August 1841, and Hugo was no darn antisemite.

  • @OropherThranduil Yes, and the same ideas are behind both unification "one country for one people" and extremist nationalism "one country, one people, over all". Deutschland uber alles is ironic in that it foreshadows the rise of nazism through some of the ambiguities in its lyrics.

  • @DelphinusMAch1

jesus christ, he was a patriot, you americans know best what THAT means.

  • @DelphinusMAch1 but hey.. you have to admit, that @OropherThranduil is right in the point, that the deutschlandlied itself is not hitlerian at all. hitler and the nazis abused it later for their own purposes. but i agree with you that people should be cautious dealing with it.

and now smile again and listen to this great music everyone! :)

  • They didn't abuse it, God damn. It was the f... national anthem.

  • @HerrWagnerfreund it was. yes. but at times of hitler the nazis abused the 1st and 2nd stanza to spread their ideology and tried to legitimate the 2nd world war. they gave it another interpretation and that's why i call it abusing. and that's why those stanzas are forbidden now. i guess you are german, just like me.. so you shuld now that. -.-

  • They're not forbidden. You as a German should know this. Aber in Deutschland hält sich ja bekanntlich nichts länger als eine Lüge. Man muss sie nur oft genug wiederholen.

  • @JusticeVSpropaganda Yes, my favorite composer. This is Elsa and Lohengrin's wedding song (actually sung by voices) in Lohengrin the opera. Saddest opera ever!

  • Instead of playing this when the bride walks down the isle, I play the Mario Underground Theme instead. :D

  • @terroristu07 you just made me lose the game!

  • You just lost the game ;P

  • Here comes the bride

    Going to get it tonight

    Here comes the groom

    Hoping for one special boom

  • Where is my $ for everytime I here this song for He was my grandma;s Unlce

her name was Erika Mari Wagner who Married Rev Duesterhoeft

  • Here comes the bride

    With skin of white

    From the wrong foundation

And a hangover from last night

    Here comes the groom

    From the changing room

    Sadly he did not realize

His fly was wide in bloom.

  • [Interlude]

    Coming is the

    Mother of the bride

    Providing for her

    A baggie to barf in

    The father of the groom

Then carried her to the loo

    Where she will stay

For the rest of her special day.

  • Here comes the bride

    All dressed in white

    Slipped on a banana peel

    And went for a ride

  • I refuse to have this at my wedding . . . I've seen Lohengrin . . .

  • Here comes the bride

    All dressed in white

    Here comes the groom

    Skinny as a broom

  • @Sheldonwh Haha, the way we used to say it was "Here comes the bride, fair, fat and wide, here comes the groom, as skinny as a broom, here comes the usher, the old toilet flusher." Good times!

  • Although this is a beautiful composition, I can't help but to think of this as the "Groom' Death March"., for that is what it truly is.

  • @joe80dman Sounds like someone's a little bitter! LOL. There are plenty of happily married men!

  • Here comes the bride

    all dressed in white

    where is the groom?

    he's in the changing room

    why is he there?

he had to change hes under were XD

  • @Theyovillepimps grammar fail!

  • love S2

  • A wedding is a funeral where you can smell your own flowers...

  • amazing song man:) I would advise You to sit back, relax and enjoy my company

  • @gigel1bucur tu se touch! ;-p

  • In the opera this plays just before 5 people are murdered... happy wedding day?

  • @DelphinusMAch1 I was so amazed when I found that outXD Play it before the divorce or something worse as well.

  • Nazis make the best music.

  • @PTR131 Wagner died before Hitler and Nazisem was burn.

  • Here comes the bride,

    all fat and wide.

    here comes the groom,

    skinny as a broom.

lol my dad and i sang that @ my brothers wedding XD

  • Um, excuse me but shouldn't we be talking about how well this version is played. It's 100% true to the original with orchestra and choir, none of this bombastic marching band style playing of this piece that one so often hears at weddings. He does such a great job of changing registrations on the organ. It's really well done.

  • You know reading the backstory to this music piece, kinda creeps me out when I hear it now.

  • @Bored339649 Very, very true. Just read an article about it and now it's all ominous and creepy. Sigh.

  • This has certainly captured the imagination of alot of newlyweds over the years, hasn't it ? And without dropping thousand ton bombs on innocent children or displacing poor farmers from their ancestral lands. Well, we're all guilty of something, aren't we ? Welcome to the human race.

  • what is the words for this song

  • need a good classical peice that you might ascribe these tags to "victorious" "coming of the king" "Jubiliant" "powerful" needs to be either classical like bach, or i guess what you would call classical gas?? or "modern" classical? any ideas?

  • dis...riight here...is me n tha futurre ♥

  • What is the difference between this and Mendelssohn's? Hard to tell...

  • @45T0N ??????? really????/

  • @45T0N Really? Even with ears?

  • @kiankelly

    hahaha

  • knock me I am from Asian # lushfmlk.info #

  • I'd love to see the bride run down the isle to "ride of the valkries" instead!

  • I'm actually writing a story about a fictional wedding, but I don't know the words to what the pastor says. I've seen weddings on TV numerous times, but can't remember it all.

  • @machiner6 depends on the legal statement and the religious statement

  • which is used more, wagners or mendelssohns version?

  • @gurkenschale92 - I thought it was about equal: Wagner comin' in, Mendelssohn goin' out.

  • Marcha nupcial con piano instrumental, muy bien!

  • So let me make sure I got this right: Traditionally, Wagner's march is played while the bride walks down the aisle, and Mendelssohn's march is played when the bride and groom make their exit out of the chapel. Correct?

  • @bleedblue83 Yup, that's right.

  • @bleedblue83 - You win Final Jeopardy!

  • Too bad Nietzsche didn't listen to this piece by Wagner. I'm sure he woudn't have written outrageously ridiculous things about him anymore.

  • @silfean

Nietzsche was quite right about Wagner. He was a nationalistic ditty, and Wagner fanatics need to come to terms with that sooner or later.

That being said, I'm a fan of his music and find The Ring and perhaps Parsifal to be among the greatest operas ever composed.Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Bach and Mozart don't even compare, ridiculous as that sounds.

  • Is this song allowed at a catholic wedding??

  • @majdarklighter Yes.

  • @majdarklighter

I heard that Mendelssohn's march isn't so good, because he was unbelieving.

    But this one is OK.

  • @majdarklighter @Terfan What you might be thinking of is how this song is usually a no-no at Jewish weddings. Wagner was a pretty outspoken anti-Semite.

I think Mendelssohn's song is much lovelier though, so I'd probably throw this out of my wedding just out of love for the Jews. I suppose it's a nice melody, but both the tune and this type of organ music seem very cheesy at a wedding these days.

  • @tegrenath for shame on me a hundred times for calling a wedding march a song. :[

  • @tegrenath

    Are you Jewish?

  • @bluerisk No, I'm not. To an extent I also agree that someone's personal life doesn't really dictate whether or not you should enjoy their music. However, there's no shortage of composers out there who wrote beautiful music, so I certainly understand people who wish to shun this for something else.

  • How many many types of bridal march music we can find ?? Do you know any lastest one ??

  • This really has a powerful riff and melody. The tone has remained uplifting and timless. I enjoy how the energy drives it forward and takes on a very heartfelt orchestration. To me, it creates even more mental images to the listener other than the weddings for which it is scored. This is something I can listen to over and over again.

  • I wonder if every time this song is played does Wagner's estate receive a royalty check? If so, wow!

  • Beautiful, Wagner was very gifted

  • Microphone's do catch those low frequencies but the overtones are bad because of it's distance. Put the mic in the organ (but far from swell) and record in Mono.

  • i wanna get married!

  • I wouldn't like to have this bridal Chorus at my wedding ceremony as it's too sad ,although , it's very respectful and has a beautiful melody.. Anyway , we will see when I marry.. Good ceremonies to all people :P

  • @aimmaster18 och, I so much wanted this and they played something else, I was devasted, but.... after all, the most important part was that everybody enjoyed the reception and party..

  • @penn1981 Hi there! You should have coordinated with the musician of the church or venue where you got married. That way, your wedding day would have carried on as you planned. But oh well, the most important thing is that you still ended up marrying the person you intended to. Stay happy and in love! :)

  • Haha. Here comes the bride, 50 metres wide!..I always used to sing that when i was a kid lol!..What a lovely song.

  • I like Mendelsohn's wedding march better. It's as popular but not as over-used.

  • @bleedblue83 - this song and Wedding March aren't really interchangeable but i agree they both overplayed at weddings.... this song is used for when the bride walks up the aisle and Mendelssohn Wedding March is usually for the happy couple to walk out.

  • Here comes the bride, all dressed and wide; her name is Clyde and she reads TV guide x] from Junie B. Jones.... lol

  • BLUE8506 my tu :D

  • Es realmente una obra maestra, es bellisima junto a la marcha nupcial de Wagner.

  • i don`t like it

  • While this is a lovely piece of music, I just can't help singing "Here comes the bride, big fat and wide" in my mind---a hold-over from childish giggling on the playground.

  • I agree, big fat and wide is all i can think of. He he!

  • Comment removed

  • @jekorb hahahahaha =)) u guys just so fun =))

  • @lawlimited Well, thanks, I think! But this is really why I talked my own daughters out of playing it!

  • @jekorb hahah...."couldnt she have done a bit more, to cover her big backside"

  • @jekorb loved it

I have 3 weddings in July, and I think when I am going to smile- they will not guess why :)))

  • @JusticeVSpropaganda Am so glad you didn't bash me for having an opinion---you wouldn't believe how many people DO that. While I am not a fan of the traditional "Here Comes The Bride" processional, I dearly love the old Mendelssohn recessional, though it's certainly not used very much anymore. It had such a cymbal-clashing, triumphant ring to it. It just gave me chills all over, though in the Catholic Church, I don't recall ever hearing it......as music must be more or less religious.

  • I hate when people talk all the time about wagner's jew opinions rather than music. Wake up. Anti-semitism it's nothing new and existed everywhere in different times of history. Just think of antisemitism before II WW and the reason for it. read some books, be intelligent.

  • good comment!

  • Being anti-Semitic at Wagner's times was much different from say 30 years later until now. Don't get me wrong, its still bad, but surely not as bad. And his music is still great.

  • it sound softer than other versions...i really like it <3

  • Awesome.

  • Here comes the bride

    all dressed in white

    where is the groom?

    he's in the changing room

    why is he there?

    he lost his underwear

    now it's too late

    we have to celebrate!

  • @RacerXGTO here comes the bride

    big fat and wide

    here comes the groom

    as skinny as a broom.

    O_o

  • @Jingles94 Inside of every petite bride is an obese woman waiting to come out upon the words "I do"

  • @RacerXGTO hahaha i lold so hard xD

  • @RacerXGTO ?

  • @multicolor0 Just laugh and pretend that you understand the humor

  • @RacerXGTO LOL

  • @RacerXGTO X3

  • @RacerXGTO Hahahahahahha =)) Is it really the son'gs lyric =)) got dam underwear =))

  • @RacerXGTO Are those the English lyrics?

  • @Angie2343 Parody lyrics, yes. Actual lyrics, no. I remember this parody as far back as 1975

  • Hitler's favorite composer.... hm. Brilliant writer, I must say.

  • maybe he was his favorite composer... but wagner died in 1883- so i guess he didn't composed anything for hitler personally

  • of course not. I doubt Wagner would compose anything for Adolf even in his era.

  • good... then we understand each other :)

  • are you sure?

    both were very anti-Semitic

  • They were, but Wagner was also a supporter of civil rights and liberal arts. I doubt that he would have supported Hitler's fascist regime.

  • This song would probably be good if it weren't so bloody cliche.

  • Richard Wagner,"Rikard Vaagner", hated Jews with all his heart. Once in a while he was forced to conduct music written by Jews. On these occasions he would don a pair of white gloves and after the piece was finished he would ritually remove the gloves and discard them in a trash can. No, he did not march with the SS because he lived in a different time, but he probably would have if they had been around in the 19th century. Es gefallt mir sehr seiner Muzik aber nicht seine Politiks.

  • @zeekwolfe What does that have to do with the quality of his music?

  • I said, in German, that I liked his music but not his politics. He was a gifted composer and a genius in the genre of grand opera. Nothing could be grander that the Ring of the Niebelung. If you like Richard Wagner's music but find it a bit heavy at times, then listen to the works of Englebert Humperdink, described as Wager "lite."

  • @zeekwolfe Are you currently learning German? Because the sentence you wrote is kind of off. The correct way to say it would be "Seine Musik gefaellt mir sehr, seine Politik aber nicht." Also, is "Rikard" how you think you pronounce his name in German? Because the "ch" is a soft sound in the back of the throat. Most Americans can't do it and end up sounding like they're hocking up phlegm, but it's actually not a very harsh sound at all.

  • @hopefullyjh Your point is well taken. I liken my German to the English spoken by the guy who does my lawn every week. I can understand what he says although he certainly doesn't sound like a native speaker. You are also correct about 'hocking up phlegm.' It took me a week learn how to pronouce the title of a dialogue "Im Vorlesungraum." We I got to '...lesung..." I started to gag much to the amusement of Herr Professor Goss.

  • @hopefullyjh Ignore the typo in the last sentence...'when' not 'we.'

  • @hopefullyjh Reminds me of AchhhchchckkckhckhckhckchkhkckkghkghxckhgkchkghckghkchgkzxlhgklsdgjklsdfjgkljgfsdkjklgMed the dead terrorist.

  • For musical people i tried to play this, not sure am rubbish at music but are the first notes c f ff ?

  • You need a score. This has been transposed to many keys, but C F FF is good for the top melody in one of them (only a person with perfect pitch can remember actual pitches; the rest of us remember intervals). The problem is that there is a lot happening besides the top melody that makes it an actual piece of music; modern ears do not always hear that. PLEASE do not purvey this atrocious practice; find a score. I thank you.

  • I learn things by ear including everything. It is not an atrocious practice, it is only atrocious if not done right.

  • Yes, but davoxshott claims to be rubbish at music; there is a good chance that includes learning harmony by ear. It would take me a long time to learn the whole piece by ear, and it might not be right, and I am a musician, so it would be worse for davoxshott. It is a good practice to learn by ear if checking against a score to insure correct learning. But people whose ears are not trained can miss a lot and learn the wrong music by ear. So, I am glad if you do it right, but not everyone is able.

  • im related to richard wagner

  • how ?

  • he really is related to me he is my 8th great uncle so great great great great great great great great uncle :)

  • nice ;) you should be a great musician so ^^

  • yes i claim to be because i play guitar good and sing alright and i love all of his style of music too im happy to say i am related to wagner because he was a great composer and i will be happy to be close to as great as he is but someday i will be =)

  • @AidenLS

Good luck dear. hope u'll make it:)

  • thanks you it really means allot to me to be related to someone so musically talented

  • probably gonna get thumbed down, but the wedding march is the way to go!

  • You just jinxed yourself... lol

  • This splices real well with Chopin's funeral march but only do it at rehearsal.

  • Wow I didn't know that this was composed by the God of music: WAGNER himself! You learn something new everyday.

  • where do I get the score sheet of this for piano ?

  • WAGNERS HOCHZEITSMARSCH ..

    irgendwie himmlich geil ^^

zu diesem Lied läuft die hochzeit von Bella & Edward (Twilight)

    ~steht im Buch 4~

  • ?!?!?!?!??!!!@steak

  • Here comes My Bride !! This divine and blessed Music is composed for me and my Bride (Elsa, Helen of Troy, Shalla - Bal or Galatea). Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven and Mozart are great composers but Wagner is NON PLUS ULTRA !!VIVAT RICHARD D€R GROSS€ WAGN€R.

  • why has this tune been so overused ad museum by the provincial bourgeois? Small minded commercialism has debased so many great works of music into appalling mundanity

  • provincial bourgeois?

you just used the phrase "ad museum" -- that's like the pot calling the kettle black.

your comment is like a pompous way of saying "this piece is overplayed"

sorry, had to troll all over this one.

  • my mom cooked macaroni last night

  • thats nice
