I have a pet shark that I take for a walk every morning when it needs a shit. Of course it stinks like crap cuz its been dead for a week, after all that walking. More of a shark ghost, I suppose...Beat that!!!
They feed her McFlurrys and COFFEE?!?!? I'm sorry, isn't that COMPLETELY abusive?? They've made no effort to help her with natural instincts, this is sickening.
@lahamification Aaargh shuddup. Take your politically correct, animal ass kissing bullshit somewhere else. Why don't you hunt down these people and do something about it if it bothers you that much (?)
In Russia there is a pet trade on pet Foxes... sadly they expect a high price and have spent decades domesticating them.
I think Britian should domestic some foxes but it should take a few years before they go on the general market.
Foxes can be tamed and i wouldnt say it would be cruel to keep them as pets. So many animals are kept as pets... where do you think all domestic animals come from??? THE WILD
If you're in Australia then BY ALL MEANS go and kill a fox's mother, have the pup spayed, and take it home for a pet. It will save thousands of native animals from death and remove another feral breeder from our environment.
Yes- taxonomy. While foxes do belong to the FAMILY Canidae, they do not belong to the genus Canis- but rather the genus Vulpes. They generally cannot mate with dogs or wolves except in freak occurences which have been reported but not well documented in science. Now if you want to see an interesting dog relative- check out the Tanuki or "racoon dog" from Japan.
Is she spayed, does she get the annual dog injections? I ask this as Roxy the fox I mentioned in my last post receives the above. You should visit this sanctuary in Nuneaton, Geoff who runs it really knows his stuff & like me, I'm SURE you'd have a BALL. I assisted in hand-rearing a young deer at school I attended in the lovely Lake District going back 30 odd years ago where I also had the job of caring for the rabbits there. Please get intouch if you like from Rich

@whatevers31 no, in Russia they have breed a pet fox named the Documesticed Sliver Fox. Its legal to have a documestic one, but cathing one in the wild is illigal becaude the wild ones are Red Foxes (species). pet foxes aren't always red or silver. Just like with dogs, there are variations.

@jarblewarble Interesting, but my sone came home from school and told me he had learned that foxes belong to the cat family. I looked it up. Seems to be true. I am astounded by that !
please people, don't watch this and go get a fox. if you rescue one then great. But if you want a pet there are thousands of dogs and cats being put down every day because they have no homes or owners are 'bored' of them. x
@jiveghost Everyone has a dog and a cat, not everyone ones an wild or exotic animal, wile and exotic animals can be tamed and can be domesticated, this is a misconception upon many people thinking that animals can not be tamed, thats how our dogs and cats where first brought into our lives at first, we domesticated them, we tamed them. the same is possible with a wild animal, just because the context "wild" is brought in doesen't mean that the animal is going to tear your head off.
My point wasn't that wild animals can't be tamed - my point was that there are domesticated animals being killed every day bc they are homeless. BUT if you must know, a lot of wild 'pets' DO end up in animal shelters when owners can't provide them with the care they need. Or worse, they get tired of the novelty. Well dogs and cats obviously aren't meant to be 'wild'. Stray dogs and cats are a harm to themselves, pets, people, native animals and the environment.
Hence why you can't 'just let them be wild' if they can't find a home.
Wanting 'something new' is not reason enough - and there are plenty of 'something news' at your local shelter - both wild and domestic - that were abandoned when the novelty wore off.
@mymothersmeatloaf seeing as humans treat domesticated animals so poorly I see no reason to take more wild animals out of their natural habitat in an attempt to domesticate them.
Working in a vet clinic you see all kinds of exotic animals come in - which often end up in animal shelters. Some people buy these 'pets' because it is unusual or trendy without considering the practicality of keeping it. @jiveghost Why a cat or a dog, a fox is the best of both worlds!! Their like a cat and a dog!! And one day I shall own an Artic fox and name her Stella! lol. And yes I will say that a fox is only a pet for those you are VERY commited, as they require more care than the average pet and MORE MONEY.ff. ALthought the more foxes are selective breed the more domesticated they become and the easier the care becomes for them.
@jiveghost But foxes have been domesticated within the US according to animal ownership laws within the last year... so its just as appropriate to purchase a fox as it is a dog or cat
@jiveghost no offense but that like watching a video about baby and telling people "dont have a babie there are tons of kids without homes and parents." im getting a fox deal with it
@wbubby er, because adopting children can be an incredibly expensive and difficult process. And in western countries the issue of thousands of animals being killed every day is a pretty different issue from the relatively small number of kids who need foster homes or to be adopted - hence why we are so selective about who can adopt. Adoptions from overseas are also incredibly difficult and expensive. Not everyone has Angelina Jolie money and star-power behind them.
also, a couple having a child (sometimes by accident) is pretty different from seeking out a *wild* animal in an attempt to domesticate it and make it your 'pet'. Animal rescues like in this vid are great. But who domesticate more animals when we already treat the ones we have domesticated like total shit?
No offense to you, but that is so not the same. A baby is in our nature to get. Fox's are not like dogs. They haven't followed us in evolution and it is in their instict to fear humans. this has been carefully developed through millions of years of evolution. Though you might be able to tame some, it will never be the same as having a dog. You would put the fox into huge amount of stress just by taking it for a walk in the park.. why do you even want to have a fox? to be special?
@LaconnerLoL be that as it may but humans have only been on eather for 200,000 to 400,00 years, and man was interduced to foxs along time ago. and u act is if tho dogs are super friendly. try and pet a wolf see how that shit goes down. The french started demstacting and trapping foxs in 700ad so im guessing 1300 years should be safe enough to take was as a companion.
I haven't heard about french keeping foxes as pets. One things first. when i say dogs, i do not mean wolves. I mean the typical pet dog. Dogs are great compasion friends, taken into the account, that is has a decent owner. Fox live in the wild and are therefore not good companions to us. You still haven't answered me why you would chose a fox. harder to train, can make it play with other animals and if you let it go in and out as a cat, it would probably run away.
@LaconnerLoL well first all dogs dident even exist 2000 years ago. dogs have been bread and changed from wolves. and second a fox is actually much smarted then most dogs breads. have u ever heard of a russian silver fox? there very loyal and have lived around people for thousands of years, and cats and dogs both run away very often if u just leave ur front door open im sure any of ur pets would jump at the chance to escape you.
Yes exactly! Dogs have been breaded into a loyal pet. I don't know what you heard about those foxes but i think it's a wanderes tale. I'm not quite sure the last phrase you said was an insult, but i both have dog and cat. Dogs will run if they see a cat or something to chase, it's their instinct. Unfortunately they don't always know their way back. My example by saying it would run was by comparing it to cats. Have you ever met a tamed fox? do you know how to train them?
@LaconnerLoL There are Dog breeds that are not considered good pets either. Some Dog breeds kill people sometimes for no reason I don't think a Fox could kill a person unless with a transferable disease. Yea a Fox may be able to kill a child but not an adult like a big Dog can. Also Foxes live 2 to 3 years in the wild and can live up to 15 years in captivity and the Foxes that are sold from breeders don't know how to live in the wild so they would die shortly if released.
@wbubby If you're going to get a fox, a few bits I'd like to say: For one, do your research, but I'm sure I don't have to say that; it's easy enough finding information with google on raising pet foxes anyways. The more important thing is, to get a fur farm survivor if you can, or rescue one from a fur farm; these foxes are the ones that are going to live a life of misery, just to be killed horribly for their fur.
@jiveghost i get your point and i respect that, but what about the thousands of fox and lynx and other animals that are killed just so some 28 year old gold digger can spend her 50 year old husbands fortune on some stupid coat and throw it away 3 months because it was "lasts seasons"., i think it goes both ways.
@MrMattBarna what? how is that even related? like at all? I don't condone fur. I don't support industries that do and would never encourage anyone to buy it. And yes, I don't like people domesticating these animals (outside of rescue situations) either.
Plus, what a stupid, sexist image you paint about that 'gold digger'. Because I'm sure no women wearing fur could have possibly paid for it themselves. pfft.
This is soo cute, it seems as though the owners really love her. I guess you can keep any [usually stray] animal ensuring you have them as babies and raise them right. Not saying it would be easy though.
So basically the fox literally owns them, not the other way around.
Coffee, mcdonalds.. are you kidding me? Live by its rules? Don't get me wrong, if that's what they want then great, but in my eyes that just seems rather strange.
@zambimaru Yes it is perfectly legal to keep foxes in the UK but that does not mean you should just go and get one. They take allot of hard work, time and effort and are really not for everyone.
@TheFlashmans would you say its more difficult to care for a pet fox than it is to care for a pet dog? Or does it require about the same amount of care?
@reaperofgenocide It is one hell of allot harder. They require a special diet that you cannot just buy over the counter, you have to make it from scratch (might I add this def does NOT include Mc Flurry's or coffee as they are lactose intolerant AND caffeine is very, very bad for them). They are destructive beyond your wildest dreams if they are not entertained. . . I did try to write allot more but I only have 'x' amount of characters. If you want to know more please feel free to ask. -Elina
@TheFlashmans Thanks for the info. I dont need to know more, just if its basically harder to care for a pet fox than a dog. Foxes are beautiful animals.

And yes I will say that a fox is only a pet for those you are VERY commited, as they require more care than the average pet and MORE MONEY.ff. ALthought the more foxes are selective breed the more domesticated they become and the easier the care becomes for them.

@jiveghost Lol, I want a fox because they're cool, things die, that's not good enough for me, I appreciate the passion but it's not a good point.
MarcusKiner 9 months ago
@jiveghost I'd be bored of them too if I had a pet fox

@jiveghost But foxes have been domesticated within the US according to animal ownership laws within the last year... so its just as appropriate to purchase a fox as it is a dog or cat

@jiveghost screw that, I got me a fox! 200 bucks well spent!
Crazyredemu 7 months ago
@jiveghost no offense but that like watching a video about baby and telling people "dont have a babie there are tons of kids without homes and parents." im getting a fox deal with it
wbubby 7 months ago 21
@wbubby er, because adopting children can be an incredibly expensive and difficult process. And in western countries the issue of thousands of animals being killed every day is a pretty different issue from the relatively small number of kids who need foster homes or to be adopted - hence why we are so selective about who can adopt. Adoptions from overseas are also incredibly difficult and expensive. Not everyone has Angelina Jolie money and star-power behind them.
so um...your point is invalid.
jiveghost 5 months ago
also, a couple having a child (sometimes by accident) is pretty different from seeking out a *wild* animal in an attempt to domesticate it and make it your 'pet'. Animal rescues like in this vid are great. But who domesticate more animals when we already treat the ones we have domesticated like total shit?
jiveghost 5 months ago
@wbubby
LaconnerLoL 4 months ago
@LaconnerLoL be that as it may but humans have only been on eather for 200,000 to 400,00 years, and man was interduced to foxs along time ago. and u act is if tho dogs are super friendly. try and pet a wolf see how that shit goes down. The french started demstacting and trapping foxs in 700ad so im guessing 1300 years should be safe enough to take was as a companion.
wbubby 4 months ago
@wbubby
LaconnerLoL 4 months ago
@LaconnerLoL well first all dogs dident even exist 2000 years ago. dogs have been bread and changed from wolves. and second a fox is actually much smarted then most dogs breads. have u ever heard of a russian silver fox? there very loyal and have lived around people for thousands of years, and cats and dogs both run away very often if u just leave ur front door open im sure any of ur pets would jump at the chance to escape you.
wbubby 4 months ago
@wbubby
LaconnerLoL 4 months ago
@wbubby
And you still haven't answered me, why a fox is a better pet for you than a normal dog.
LaconnerLoL 4 months ago
@LaconnerLoL There are Dog breeds that are not considered good pets either. Some Dog breeds kill people sometimes for no reason I don't think a Fox could kill a person unless with a transferable disease. Yea a Fox may be able to kill a child but not an adult like a big Dog can. Also Foxes live 2 to 3 years in the wild and can live up to 15 years in captivity and the Foxes that are sold from breeders don't know how to live in the wild so they would die shortly if released.
TheCajunGambit1 3 months ago
@wbubby You're off by a few 1,000 years.... Dogs were domesticated from gray wolves about 15,000 years ago.

LaconnerLoL 4 months ago
@wbubby If you're going to get a fox, a few bits I'd like to say: For one, do your research, but I'm sure I don't have to say that; it's easy enough finding information with google on raising pet foxes anyways. The more important thing is, to get a fur farm survivor if you can, or rescue one from a fur farm; these foxes are the ones that are going to live a life of misery, just to be killed horribly for their fur.
Demonwulf 4 months ago
@jiveghost fox was a pet before dogs first of all...
13CaptianCharisma13 5 months ago
@jiveghost i get your point and i respect that, but what about the thousands of fox and lynx and other animals that are killed just so some 28 year old gold digger can spend her 50 year old husbands fortune on some stupid coat and throw it away 3 months because it was "lasts seasons"., i think it goes both ways.
MrMattBarna 5 months ago
@MrMattBarna what? how is that even related? like at all? I don't condone fur. I don't support industries that do and would never encourage anyone to buy it. And yes, I don't like people domesticating these animals (outside of rescue situations) either.
Plus, what a stupid, sexist image you paint about that 'gold digger'. Because I'm sure no women wearing fur could have possibly paid for it themselves. pfft.
jiveghost 5 months ago
@jiveghost im just making light of a social issue, i dont care either way if they paid for it themselves, but again i respect your opinion

This is soo cute, it seems as though the owners really love her. I guess you can keep any [usually stray] animal ensuring you have them as babies and raise them right. Not saying it would be easy though.
Scullnblades 1 year ago
So basically the fox literally owns them, not the other way around.
Coffee, mcdonalds.. are you kidding me? Live by its rules? Don't get me wrong, if that's what they want then great, but in my eyes that just seems rather strange.
argottobob 1 year ago
It's funny because you can actually condition her to live less nocturnally and more like a cat.

Is it legal to keep foxes in England?
zambimaru 1 year ago
@zambimaru Yes it is perfectly legal to keep foxes in the UK but that does not mean you should just go and get one. They take allot of hard work, time and effort and are really not for everyone.

@TheFlashmans would you say its more difficult to care for a pet fox than it is to care for a pet dog? Or does it require about the same amount of care?
reaperofgenocide 11 months ago
