this old rap style with the crews made it seem like a sport. I like in old songs like this when one person leaves blanks and the other fills in the gaps.
RAW CLASSIC!....The true Hipsters of Hip hop...Soul Sonic Force, I was so fortunate to have seen them live in Cali...Ive yet to hear any of todays music even compare to this pure sound....its sad that most of todays so called Hip Hoppers sampled if not used most of these songs and made millions...todays Hip Hip fakes are looked at like geniuses of Hip Hop...I say give me a sound board and I too can make music...these pioneers used two turntables and GOD given talent to give us this sound..
Raw breakin' here, I'm pretty sure that's Beaver of Zulu Kings. He was the best at one time. It's a shame they didn't have footage of Spy,Trac 2,Mongo,Vinnie etc.
@22ndlehigh your 'dad'! omg you're truly decended from royalty! are you female? can i marry you so he can be my father-in-law? lol Bam said he was ready to drop an LP(back in the early 2000's) Did he? just curious what he's up to these days having influenced me so much back in the day
This is not recoded in1979/80 but 1983. It's from the BBC doumentary by Dick Fontaine aired in 84. I have the original VHS cassette. Even better is the studio takes from the Renegades of Funk recordings with Arthur Baker. :)
This is part of a documentary that was shown on TV called 'A Hip Hop History' (I think). I have it somewhere on VHS cassette!! I'll try to find it and post in parts. It has some great clips of Grandmaster Flash and all the old scool players from back in the day!
The best...! xxx
