  • he is a deadlifter, for deadlifts you need a support grip and for closing the grippers you need crushing grip strenght its not the same.

deadlifting will help you closing the grippers but you need to work with the grippers if you wanna close them and dont forget thumb and wrist strenght !!!

  • He can't fully close it because of how meaty his hand is. But he's obviously got the strength.

  • @stevespielberg It has nothing to do with how meaty his hands are, meatier hands are actually an advantage. He couldn't fully close it cause he didn't properly set it in his hand, but you're right he obviously has the hand strength to close it.

  • really?! some idiots are discussing church here? get a life suckers. please!

  • lmao bing bam boom closed it like a boss

  • doesnt matter which video you choose you literally only have to scroll down and there will be Americans arguing about god and all that shit, go on try it

  • Thats a weak grip.

  • Give that gripper to Magnus Samuelsson instead!

  • @MetalKvicken well he closes #4 so thats not really a challenge

  • with enough traing he could have that closed in about a week.

  • Impressive, but the toughest part of the gripper is the "squeeze-close" when you're trying to get the bars to touch..

  • Had he used the real setting grip it would have been easy... too easy... He just held it wrong

  • omg he has really powerful grip.

  • @pussySTEROIDusers yeah that must be why Lou Ferrigno, Arnold Schwarzenneger, Dave Draper, Larry Scott, Tom Platz, Lee Haney, Mike Katz and quite frankly, too many more to list are not only alive well into their 50's and 60's but half of them still work out and are freakin buff....

  • @pussySTEROIDusers I can't wait untill you die from sucking so much at life.

  • hahaha hes just reppin it at the end, what a strong dude

  • Big Ron is sweet. A great representative of the sport.

  • @GreenMove100

a great representative of the drugs

  • @ilovezerglings yeah man, thats true,i guess ronnie is doped to the muthafuccin max, thats why he is aint no rival 4 some real strong dude who ain´t on steroids...i would say ronnie would squeeze any fucking gripper cause of the drugs...but not of hard work in a way some powerlifter would do it i guess

  • @milliato210 WHAT THE FUCK? You think he got where he is without hardwork? it took genetics hardwork and steroids are you to stupid to realize that? Tons of average cunts at the gym take steroids and look garbage steroids don't make you suddenly blow up to a ripped 265. Oh and you think powerlifters don't take juice? are you a bit slow there mate?

  • @ilovezerglings OK. You go get that big or win any serious title in any hard sports "Naturally" You only have to eat what you find in nature. that means No supplements too. Good Luck.

  • monster grip! absolutely crazy, He could, if i wanted to, be one of the few to close the nr.4

  • @htothejay He was way off with the Number 3, that last 1/2 inch is where all the pressure is. A number 4 is light years harder.

  • @NLT31 i wouldn say way off...he is pretty darn close at closing the number 3 right there..i know the number 4 i as monster, but..i think doable for a man os his strengh. Ive got all the grippers but my first goal i s to close the nr.3 . its tough enough for me :D

  • @htothejay Good luck in your quest, the good thing about the grippers is that it isn't as dependant on overall size and power, Joe Kinney and Nathan Holle were both normally sized individuals, in fact Nathan is particularly small. As for Coleman, to be fair he's just holding it and squeezed it with no particular technique but talking to experienced grip athletes that 1/2" like I said is where it's at. It takes a lot of serious training to close that last 1/2".

  • @NLT31 Thanks man! Agreed on the size deal - thats why you gotta love the grip training.:)

I got the dvd " get a grip" with joe kinney and man...that shit is the real deal!! :D He is, and will always be, THE boss!!

Its jus unreal for me, that its even possible to close the number 4 like that...its a BRICK! but, its doable, for a chosen few..

  • He didn't even close it!

  • @TheDuroflex because he cant.

  • Since when bodybuilders have strong grip? They're are famous for louzy grip. Majority of them needs straps to be able even hold 405 in their hands.

  • @m5p944 u dont know who this is? ronnie pushes 200 pound dumbbells, deadlifts 800.. and shits 45 plates.

  • @obezana You wanna kiss his ass anymore? I don't know what people do not understand. Powerlifters are stronger than bodybuilders. Guys like Brian Shaw, Zydrunas Savickas, Magnus Samuellson and Bendikt Magnusson would make Ronnie Coleman look like a pussy.

  • @BXAssasinatorXS 1. who fucking said we dont know that? 2. ronnie pulled 800x2 and pushed 200 pound dumbbells for easy reps...benedikt is my favorite PL but you seem to not know who ronnie is..

  • @BXAssasinatorXS Ronnie Coleman, can deadlift and squat 800lbs.

  • @m5p944 agreed. ronnie coleman is one of the very few bodybuilders who is as strong as he looks

  • @m5p944 why 405??????why not 400???if i put that in kilos its like...202,something kilos, what the bullshit???why you don´t say 400 pounds???and by the way,i think its not easy at all holding 200 kilos in hands!

  • @milliato210 Is that all what bothers you? Can't you just stick to the point and stop fucking around stickboy? Here in USA we're using 45 pounds plates along with 45 pounds olympic bar. You do the math. 4 plates on each side + bar = guess what? Who care about kilos here in US when "Drittes Reich" failed. So get organized. Here in US you're just german pimp.

  • @m5p944

Dude, seriously? Connecting the superior metric system designed in the French Revolution to nazis... you're a redneck.

  • @Gardash111 Superior my ass. USA is superior to rest of the world. Get along or envy.

  • @m5p944

Okay. Suck my metrical cock in the meanwhile.

  • @m5p944 It never ceases to amaze me. The ignorance people show is astounding. World War 2 ended 66 years ago, and you just can't seem to grasp the fact that a country is different now.

As for the metric system; it is used in the entire world, barring three countries. Myanmar (Burma), Liberia, and the U.S. do not use it. Where does superiority come into the equation? Using such an old, dead term as "Drittes Reich" just shows that you really know next to nothing outside of your own borders.

  • @m5p944 Also: Reduced credit rating, causing the first and second biggest recessions in history, turning a blind eye to Israels behavior toward muslims, corporate sponsored and aged government officials, protests that have yet to be adressed by the leader of the country, Christianity having privileged rights. Do you want me to keep going?

Bottom line: Your country is not perfect. Stop jerking off to the sound of your waving flag. Respect others.

  • @TrueRahf

Even if it were actually true, what's wrong with Christianity having "privileged rights"? By whos standard are you using to say that is wrong?

  • @RawChristianSuper2 The establishment clause of the First Amendment.

  • @TrueRahf

The First Amendment has always been interpreted literally as nothing more than what it says verbatim. There is no such thing as a separation of church and state. Only in a letter from Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists.

There are many religious symbols proliferating government office and public funds have gone to private Christian schools.

History also tells us this country was settled by 'Christians' for 'Christians'. Prior to the revisionists changing textbooks.

  • @RawChristianSuperman what da fuck?

  • @m5p944 thats the funniest thing I have ever heard

  • Frig this crap, im getting the trainer and having a crack at this....man Ronnie is freaking strong

  • haha COC trainer

  • A guy who benches 495x5 and deadlifts and squats 800x2 can definitely close this without much effort. Nice work Big Ronnie!

  • He's hardly trying... If he put his mind to it, had some magnesium and put it it in his hand correctly this wouldve been closed.

  • not fully closed but damn good anyways haha...anyone wanna see the strongest body builder you gotta check out stan efferding aka "the rhino" dudes a freak

  • This is not full-reps.

  • @galufthebest

Thank you, the rest of us have no eyes so we can't tell it from the video.

  • it's a toy for him lool

  • I was waiting for Ronnie to shout "YEAH BUDDY!!!!" before attempting to close it.

  • this guy looks strong like all other body builders but he trains all the year to have heavy muscles, the public exhibition proves it, he shows only his body which is huge and fatless it is the goal and he is a champion obviously. He lifts tremendous weight plates but he is not as resistant as a strongman. A guy as Ronnie could smash a chair by his weight on it but he could not defeat a strongman it is impossible.A strongman seeks force not muscular mass

  • @slauburn Ed Coan, a world record POWERLIFTER(they go for force, right?) couldn't close the #3, despite making full-blown, legitimate attempts. "This guy"--Ronnie Coleman, was playing with it like it's nothing. Ronnie Coleman, while certainly no Andy Bolton, is a ridiculously strong human being, as strong or stronger than any bodybuilder ever, and is damn near as strong as any strongman ever. Learn what you're talking about before you attempt to be an expert at the subject of conversation.

  • @slauburn

So you say that bodybuilders train for big muscles and strong men are better strong men because they are strong men. That is ground breaking information.

  • please someone help me out. is Strongman Grips Heavy Duty Hand Gripper as good as captain of crush hand grippers?

  • @1080famous just read the resistance they have, if it is the same then yes. It should say somewhere hom much resistance they give, example: 365lbs, 405lbs, etc...

  • no the captain of crush is way better and more accurate. The strongman grips heavy duty are pretty good to start out tho. GO on amazon and buy the set that comes with like 7 different grippers for only 60 dallars

  • @1080famous They are different.... Heavy duty hand grippers dont open as wide as CoC grippers. CoC all the way in my opinion.

  • @1080famous CoC grippers are higher quality and more accurate than Heavy Grips. My friend has the HG200 which is rated at 200lbs but it feels like my CoC trainer which is rated at 100lbs. CoC are the best.

  • if that was paul knight letting him try that gripper out...thats awesome...paul is one of the sickest grip strength guys out there...45lb hub transfer is br00tal

  • how much pressure is needed to close that shit?

  • @temmink2010 265 i believe.....it looks like an older model...due to the black coiled spring..newer ones have chrome springs...plus the older it gets it gets a little "weaker"...still a tough feat...i can only close mine halfway lol haha

  • @temmink2010 CoC #3 has 280 lbs. of resistance

  • @jimmypete1 tnx guys for the info

  • He's a bodybuilder, not a strongman competitor. Don't get me wrong, he's a strong mofo but he doesn't compare to the strongman competitors. The fact that he couldn't close it didn't surprise me.

  • this wasnt what i expexcted when i read ronnie coleman trying a coc

  • f.. i know his big, but damn he IS big :D

Those hands are almost sqare :D monster grip!

  • look at 0:02 when hes gripping..you can see the blood rush through hes veins

  • very strong, im sure if he was in his prime " around 2003 offseason" he would close it and with training could get the number 4. 200 pound dumbell press is unmatched by anyone strongman or not, aswell as his freakish strengh in all other areas. truely a 1 in a lifetime human being.

  • sharpnova2 u can't do that unless u choke it or cheat like hell u see no one has ever done a real certified rep with a coc 4. Not even magnus samuelson.

  • believe me, "almost" closing a number 3 doesn't mean anything. it would take months of training to get that last cm...

  • @mmamilano THIS. I'm not saying Ronnie couldn't do it, but this video is a failed attempt.

  • @mmamilano

Uh, no warm-up, no effort, no set and technique COMPLETELY wrong? I would say a no-set attempt like that means a whole fucking lot.

  • @Draykid why? because it's mr olympia? ronnie is a mid 800s deadlifter, i'm sure other people who deadlift mid 800s can "almost" close it too.

  • @mmamilano

Hahahaha, no, because he took it with no warm up which makes it much more difficult, no technique which makes it nigh impossible, and had no set which anyone who knows shit about grippers will tell you closing a gripper from is basically domination of that gripper, not to mention i don't believe he checked (or knew to check) for a dog ear, and had it in the worst possible position.

And yet he still brought it closer than a handle's width, hardly even trying.

  • не закрыл

  • It's still crazy he can close it almost fully, and he does it for reps.

  • @ooUooUoo Magnus warms up on a number 3.

  • @yohowruman Magnus has trained on grip his whole life. I know him personally.

  • @yohowruman Hes strongman and coleman is bodybuilder. Do some researches between bodybuilding and strength training...

  • @Teqo7 If you're going to bother trying to suggest that someone doesn't know the difference at least be literate when you do so.

Also I was replying to someone else down the list, I never once mentioned body building or STRONGMAN, so don't start spouting bullcrap.

  • @Teqo7 Clearly you are fucking retarded. Did I ever mention different types of training? No. So go and sit the fuck down

  • Comment removed

  • woah.. he didn't even set it right nor mentally amped himself to closed it.. if he did, I'm pretty damn sure that #3 would would have been a walk in the park for Ronnie...

  • @ooUooUoo

your so so wrong...its only the last bit thats hard.....and you dont think ronnie trains his forearms????????

magnus would have this paper strongman crying into his steroids

  • @bedfordcrusader They're 2 different types of athletes, its like comparing apples and oranges.

  • What people don't realize is that the last few millimeters are the hardest. He has a fair way to go before closer number 3

  • i say if u would like to be STRONG! give up Bodybuilding... with colemans size in my eyes he should be stornger... but because he has to little bodyfat he loose strenght... I say MAgnus Samuelsson when he was in the competitions... natural borned VIKING! he can push #3 and #4 wiki him... STRONG man and he look small compared to coleman

  • @highrpm85: That is because bodybuilding is aesthetic first, aesthetic second and strength third. Whereas powerlifting is strength first with no goal to look better.

  • @highrpm85 coleman is like 5'10 Magnus is 6'7 i think there different sports too.

  • nice watch

  • Wow. Closed it 90% like it was nothing. I'm not surprised, if he actually set the thing right that would be a joke for him. Pretty amazing!

  • @slizzardman wishful thinking.

  • How big are his hands? There's room to spare with the gripper wide open!

  • Thats amazing! He did wider than CCS, with no prior direct gripper training, and set it in the wrong position and nearly got it!

    Nuts

  • really you don't need to close a #3 to flat press 200 lbs dumbbells for 12 reps. All that is needed is the ability to maintain a decent grip for a few seconds.

  • hahahaha he played that thing like a freaking toy!!

  • Doesn't he endorse Strongman Grips? Seems like with his size and training background he would be able to close the #3 if he has had any prior gripper training.

  • no grip strength

  • juice monkey...

  • he didn't have it positioned correctly in his hand.

  • damn Paul, I bet if you taught him to MMS he would closing a 3.5 in a month. no suprises here- a man who deadlifts that much weight for that many reps is not going to have a fish handshake

  • i just tested out the new coc #5 (450 pound force)

was able to hammer out 4 reps.

  • @sharpnova2 they have a coc#5? they dont have it on the ironmind site

  • @sharpnova2 You are so full of shit-COC 5-retard.

  • @Macraewalker It's currently in the quality control phase. Only people able to handle the COC #4 with ease are testing it at this time.

  • @sharpnova2 Handle the #4 with ease? LOL well even Magnus had to put a lot of effort in to close them...I dont ever see anyone closing them with ease though.

  • @04gtstang Obviously I meant relative ease. Relative to most people who can "barely" close them.

  • @04gtstang It still takes what I would call tremendous force. Just not necessarily tremendous effort.

For example, I can close a #4 with each hand at the same time.

Now that is difficult. Especially if you're doing it correctly because the force originates from deep shoulder muscles and pectoral stabilizer muscles. So there is some shared labor for doing both at once that makes it ten times more difficult.

  • @04gtstang ever seen Joe Kinney close the #4? That is the most impressive feat of grip strength I have ever seen. He closed it easily and then he grinded the handles together. He was the first man to close the #4, and he did a no set close.

  • @khalsasikh I agree, the #4 close that joe kinney did was unmatched. Not to mention he was 40 years old and only 175lbs. Joe Kinney had superhuman grip strength. He also closed a monster gripper he made that took 675 of pressure to close.

  • @khalsasikh

Holy crap I just looked him up...absolutly incredible! Never could tell...apparently size has doesnt mean much when it comes to grip strength...his hands and wrists dont seem huge either.

  • @sharpnova2 Oh, really? I just tested out the new COC 500,000,000 and managed only to get about 10 reps.

  • @khalsasikh Where do I sign up to try that one? I can do 10 COC #400,000's at once. one with each pair of fingers or toes.

The hardest was either the pinky and ring toe on my right food or the pinky and ring finger of my left hand.

  • ...wow.

  • If he set it at all, he would have closed it

  • Good attempt by someone who may not train with them, but he missed closing it by close to a quarter of an inch. I'm sure he could do it with some training.

  • This was really impressive, ranking up there with a 72 year old man that's a friend of my dad's almost closing the #2 without even being shown how to set it or even position it.

  • if i was on 8000 mg of test a week, i think i could close it too!

  • @c8h3p me too :D

  • @c8h3p No, you couldn't. One area that steroids don't work much on at all is grip strength. Since grip strength comes from the tendons and ligaments in the hands and forearms, synthetic steroids don't help very much at all since a steroid builds and restores muscle tissue. The reason Ronnie Coleman has a good grip is because he is a world class deadlifter and he does extremely heavy rowing movements. He can deadlift about 900 pounds.

  • @khalsasikh Im not sure what your understanding of anatomy is, but grip strength comes from the amount of force your hand and forearm muscles can exert. Same goes for any other muscle movement. Yes tendon and ligament strength is relevant in that they need to withstand the forces exerted on them, but they have no part in exerting the force. So, steroid's function in building and restoring muscle would indeed help with grip strength as it would in the strength of any other muscle.

  • @beaster29 I understand enough to know that steroids don't contribute to grip strength. So get out of here. Have the guts to show who you are too.....don't be some anonymous jackass.

  • @khalsasikh Who said i gave you permission to go on my profile? Obviously you don't understand. If steroids contribute to muscle strength, they contribute to grip strength. Muscles are what move your fingers you see, and if those muscles get stronger, your fingers get stronger. Ofcoarse your tendons will get stronger along with the muscles. Now stay off my profile pervert!

  • @beaster29 I don't need your fucking permission to do anything. Your profile is open for the fucking world to see. If you don't like it, get the fuck off. Otherwise, go lecture someone who gives a fuck about what you have to say, shithead.

  • @khalsasikh Well, i guess if you're that eagar to lurk around my profile like a gross peeking tom, then i guess what can i do.

  • @beaster29 Yeah, get over here and put your tongue on my balls.

  • @khalsasikh Sorry guy, the world doesnt work like your gay pornos. Just cause your peeping, doesnt mean im gonna be a willing participant.

  • @beaster29 Okay, go ahead keep your gay pornos to yourself, homo.

  • @khalsasikh LOL, you sound disappointed. Sorry that im not gay as youd hoped.

  • @beaster29 Yeah, you're even GAYer than that, shithead. But you can still put your tongue between my balls since you like that anyway.

  • @khalsasikh Is that what your daddy used to do?

  • @beaster29 no, your mommy

  • @khalsasikh Nah, i think your daddy did. Thats why youre such an angry boy. Don't be so sad, its not your fault.

  • @beaster29 That's cause you're an idiot, angry girl.

  • @khalsasikh LOL! Well, with that im just gonna let you win. Well done!

  • @khalsasikh Sorry but you're way off. Why do you think Olympic lifters and Powerlifters use the stuff. It's not for looks.

  • @c8h3p He didn't close it. As per the official rules on ironmind.com, the grippers must close, by fully touching.

  • @c8h3p Steroids don't really contribute to grip strength. Steroids build muscle, but grip strength comes from the tendons and ligaments. Ronnie got his grip strength from being a world class deadlifter. He can deadlift at least 900 pounds at his best. He also can barbell row with over 500 pounds. Anybody that can do that will be able to at least give the #3 a run for its money like you saw in this video.

  • @c8h3p

    No you couldn't.

  • @c8h3p shut up

  • Check out Magnus Samuelsson Grip Training... He closes number 4 two times in a row :)

  • @pfftw lol...Magnus's closes were gay.

  • if that is the #3.... damn!!

  • Damn Ronnie coleman is strong as hell.. he almost closed a #3 without proper training and that bodybuilder can deadlift 800...

I wish to one day exceed his lifts. But until then....

  • his hands are to big lol

  • Holy crap, his hand is incredibly large! Growth hormones FTW.

  • very impressive for a guy who never trains his grip directly other than holding heavy barbells adn db's for deads, rows and shrugs.

  • If he had grabbed it half an inch lower it would have closed, TNS. Fucking incredible.

  • wtf, It doesn´t even look like hard Oo ( for him ) I have a 2.5 myself and It´s not makeable for me at the moment :D

  • He could have closed it.if you dont get the right grip on it the handles wont "line up" when you try to close them.

  • wow, i did not see him even getting close! impressive Mr. Coleman... Touche!

  • hahah that's cool especially if he has never done this but those deadlifts help the grip and visa versa, i hate when this happens example when my cuz first tried benching he out benched me with a lift of 185 when i got 165 and we we're in 8th grade...haha it still hurts

  • pretty big hands

  • that is pretty amazing for first time. His hands are huge also.

  • @TheMightykaz Not that amazing. The guy has been lifting weights for countless years and eating steroids for breakfast. I would expect him to at least get the #3.

  • Teach him how to set it and he'll click it - give him 2 months and he'll close the #4 (if he trains for it). Amazing.

  • @HandelandJ You truly underestimate the power of #4.

  • I am assuming the difference between a 3 and a 4 is like the difference between a 2 and a 3. I can close the #2 twice, I got the 2.5 literally a millimeter away from closing, and the only time I ever tried to close a #3 I got the handles almost to parallel.

  • Although mathematically that is true, the difference as far as training and the way it feels on your hands goes, it's more like the difference between the 2 and the Elite (which is a 3.4, a touch easier than the 3.5). By comparison, I can get the #3 reasonably close to closed, not quite a half inch, but I can't get the 4 to parallel, I can only close the 4 by chest crushing it. Thankfully, there's the Elite, the 3.5, the Super Elite, and the Grand Elite as in between stepping stones.

  • so if my logic is true, (that each gripper is the same mount harder poundage wise as the one before it) Ronnie would with no further training get the #3.5 handles to almost parallel. If someone showed him how to set it he might close it. And then would get the #4 handles almost to parallel. If each gripper gets harder by a consecutive amount.

  • Yeah, thats why its as easy to gain in bench from 50kg - 100kg and 350kg - 400kg.

The heavier it gets, the harder it gets. The progression in weightlifting etc isnt linear, so you can't put it like that.
