  • He just won Ironman 2011 title :)

  • that was a great performance, id love to see him bike 4:30 and how fast he can do that run

  • great athlet!

  • HI IS THE BEST EVEN IF THIS YEAR HI WAS IN 4 PLEACE

  • @theserenos He's not the best then is he?

  • @Minkymoo222 WHAT DO U MEAN ...??

  • My only pet peeve with Tris is the Bike is hightl disproportionate to the run and especially to the swim.

  • crrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggg

  • and he is a nice guy too. I remember meeting him with his lovely wife and daughter the morning after his win and he was a pleasure to talk to and so humble. I really love when a super star athlete is so down to earth. It makes it that much more fun to be a fan. I admire him so much. He is so inspiring. My husband did Hawaii 4 times and he loves Crowie too!

  • Did he say he accidently went throught the first mile at 5:30?? crap that like my P.R

  • @scallstar805 yeah....then he followed it up by another one at the same pace....that's insane.

  • song plzzz

  • song plzzz

  • Alexander the Great.

    Thanks for the upload

  • Wow his time was fast unreal how do they do that

  • What's the name of this optimistic, hopeful song?

  • it's a movie soundtrack from Pirates of The Carribean trilogy: The Black Pearl.

  • @Sammyfest HANS ZIMMER is the composer, his music is the best.

  • i do ironman 70.3s and hopefully ill do full ones soon,i always wear a vented helmet as the time you save is minimal with a aero helmet as to get any benifit at all from a aero helmet you have to keep your head totally still, plus they make you sweat like a buggar

  • Grande Craig!!

  • He does use an aero. IM Muskoka 70.3 he was wearing a Giro Advantage TT most likely because it was cooler up here than most of his other races. Ventilation and keeping cool may be more important to him in the longer distances too since it's so hot in Kona.

  • A bloody legend, he is.

  • I wonder why he doesn't use an aero helmet. Every little bit counts on that kind of distance.

  • ventilation and cooler with regular helmet. Have you seen Crowie run? No need for the fastest bike split. If asked I'll bet he'd say he doesn't want the fastest bike split on the day. He wants someone else to blow up so he can run them down.

  • Rasmus Henning for Ironman 2010!

    Pride of Denmark :D!

  • Crowie is going to smash it up again this year. Go son!

  • I Will do it also, someday

  • me too...

  • can anyone tell me where the name "Crowie" comes from.

  • He looks like a guy on the TV show Baywatch, so when he was younger that's what people called him.

  • Unbelieveable effort in his 3rd Ironman and only his second attempt at Kona, and all round awesome guy !!!

  • 26 miles at almost 6 mins per mile ... that alone is impressive.

  • You know what is also impressive? Avg speed on the 111.6 mile bike leg, I calculated roughly around 24.2 mph. That's some damn good avg speed without the benefits of the draft like riding in a peloton in a grand tour. Hell, I think the Tour de France guys are averaging 26 or 27 mph with the peloton. But of course, I'm sure having a TT/Tri bike fitted with aerobars and aerowheels makes a huge difference.

  • At times the peloton in the Tour De France is hitting up to 45 mph.

  • yes it amazing what teamwork drafting can do. I wonder how fast these guys could do a ironman bike split in if they were allowed to draft like the tour guys.

  • U R Wrong!

  • u r wrong

  • the aero helmets not only DONT provide air ventilation but they can be a burden to the riders due to the weight of the helmet, so it becomes tough on the rider. but for the ones that are worried about making the bike cutoff, they use every lil peice of aero advantage as they can to to make the cut off. which is y everyone uses Aero Helmet.

  • So if they don't worry about the cutoff and pedal hard then they'll be okay

  • Why don't some of the riders use aerohelmets? On a 40k TT it can shave over a minute of time. Is it just too long of a distance for some riders to be comfortable with that type of helmet?

  • Well, aero helmets are verry hot over 180km. It's also does not ventilate good.

Sorry for my bad english :(

  • everyone should watch out for Llanos next year......well balanced Triathlete

  • Absolutely incredible! Machine! Go Aussie!

  • what is the background song for this video? thanks

  • Soundtrack from "Pirates of the Caribbean"

  • I swear to god i saw this guy riding his bike at gymea today

  • Quite likely actually. He lives in the area.

  • You must remember this name: Eneko Llanos, the Spaniard triathlete, from Vitoria-Gasteiz. Second place in Hawaii 2008.

  • Spain sucks!! To arrogant and no good athletes

  • steady on mate

  • love this guy. complete professional. well balanced and down to earth. can't wait to see him and macca run together next year

  • youre spot on!!

    Next year will be great.

  • i think it s going to be like Ironman 1989 with Dave Scott and Mark Allen, cant wait!!

  • He's a Pirate - DJ Tiesto

Craig Alexander did a great job!!!!
