The problem with H.R. 1444, is that it authorizes a study on how mandatory civil service, for people aged 18-25, could be enacted. This doesn't necessarily imply a U.S. version of the S.A., but I don't think that mandatory service should even be considered. It doesn't matter, we are already a fascist nation, and that has nothing to do with Obama.
What I am curious to know is if this H.R. 1444 was even being steered by Obama? Is this his initiative and does he have knowledge of the bill and endorsed it? In addition, I agree with you that mandatory service should not be considered in this country but it also should be noted that it reads as "civil" service and not a kind of military force of any kind.
