The Civil War was not over Slavery as so many would have you believe, slavery tied into the greater dispute of States Rights Vs. Federal Government.

The South had every right to secede when Lincoln took office. Lincoln campaigned on not enforcing the Supreme Court ruling (Dread Scott) in favor of the south.

The confederacy only wanted slavery due to their need for workers. The north was totally OK with slavery and they still were very racist. Also the War of Northern Agression was only about state rights. I truelly respect MLK and African Americans and beleive that if the Southerners won that we would have won the war that the States would have been the same or even better due to the fact that slavery would have made cotton trade more lucritive.

Mr. Cooke is not only the one living in the past with his close minded views that white people hate everything that is black (Alabama Football Team as an Example) but the last guy Mr. White talking about how "we" (assuming the african american race) don't need the "White Man" because they have each other.

I saw nothing but hate on white folks through those men.

He just assumes everyone their is a biggot, doesnt like folks with black skin on a football team, and would have a problem with Obama. why doest he go and actually "talk" to them instead of just sitting by himself in the shade surronded by his own ignorance

@maskedwalnut Sir, you are exactly right. If Mr. Cooke had taken the time to just talk to some of the folks "up on the hill", he just might have come away with a whole new perspective. How sad. This is precisely what those who rule over us want him to believe so they can keep our people divided, and under their control. He needs to realize that we all want the same thing....LIBERTY!!

great video, i cant agree with Mr. Sam cooke, I was there for the honoring of my gggreat grandfather, who fought for the south, and a new nation. I'am not evil, nor do i wish bad things apon him he has the right to speak his mind. but if I am to forget my past then so must we all white , black, red and so on. thanks for sharing the video, it was well done.
