OMG!! This ride is soo intense, I went on it today and only went on it once because there was over an hours wait time time just for one ride! You feel like you are falling to your death then you realise how tight you're strapped in and relax... Only to find your self underground with some sort of wet air in your face!

Also you have to try Thirt3n it's amazing... Apart from the wait time, all I can tell you is that there is a big surprise at the end!

Don't you get it? This, Oblivion... was the worlds first Dive/Vertical rollercoaster, ever.. back in 1998.

You're comparing it to much more modern dive machines in America i.e sheikra/Griffon which have had 7 years to advance & took all their inspiration from this, Oblivion.

Still. Sheika/Griffon don't have a huge hole in the ground so I guess yours sucks, oh well.

@PhetMeow You must go onOblivion, Rita, Nemesis, Air, Ripsaw and there is one you will go by to oblivion which i cant remember what it is called :( and the one at the water park. . . you wont get lost XD They will give you a map and then you will know what i am talking about =P so have Fun ^-^

@MissStripyVest It's not that high, since most of the drop is underground. It's definitely would be worth the wait, though I went during school term, so the queues weren't that long and I got to go on heaps of times (If you buy your tickets online or have an annual pass, then they let you in the park early, and run a few rides like Rita, Oblivion, Mine Train etc for 1 hour exclusivley before the park is open to everyone else, so another way to avoid a long line)

I love every ride at AT but i am really not keen on vertical drops. When you first get into the car, it slowly takes you up a steep track which then stops and leaves you hanging for a few seconds before you drop vertically into a black hole. It completely freaks me out and really have to be pushed to go on this each time :(. If anything you get a great view of the park lol

@callumisgreen1996 This was the worlds first vertical drop coaster aka dive machine. Alton has very limited space and almost all of their biggest rollercoasters of Prototypes aka World Firsts. Obviously since Oblivion has been installed the tech behind it has improved and bigger and better dive machines have been made.

Oblivion was built in 1998, Shiekra was built in 2005 ;) We a long way a ahead

I was absolutely terrified on this LOL.

It was the first ride I rode there, and also the first ride I had EVER been on!

We got there when it opened so there was no queues at all. When it hung me over the edge I felt like my whole life flashed before my eyes! Lol. Once it finished though I was laughing like mad. These things never turn out to be as bad as they look.
