  • 28 people played Idiot's Gambit and lost.

  • This happened to me the very first time I opened the chess program on my computer, without even knowing the rules yet. I only realized much later what had happened.

  • This is useless! How do IIIII win on MY side? All you'er showing us how the opponent wins.....

  • I did this to my fried once, it was hilarious, neither of us realised that it was check mate

  • my dad said he done this at a chess club before.

  • that was EPIC! :)

but the probability of that happening in a game between two accomplished players is slim. :(

  • lol i remembered first hearing about this during a competiton. It was a pig deal because 2 masters were playing together and this accidently happened. lol

  • I am probably the worlds worst chess player, but even I would have to be drunk not to see that.

  • Comment removed

  • i think i did this at age 6 when i first learned chess

  • that is an illogical opening to begin with! LOL

  • Why would someone place a king DIRECTLY BESIDE A EFFING PAWN WTF!

  • I got someone like this. Except it was three moves. The person opened up just like that, but their first move was a pawn on the opposite side. Haha.

  • if this ever happened to you in real life, you're just plain stupid. even I'm better at chess then that (and I'm reeeaaally bad)

  • this has happened to me like 1000 times.

i just love this opening, but my opponent keeps checkmating me with his darn queen.

there ought to be a rule against checkmating on the second move

  • fully faltu from my side of view

  • i have seen a 1200 player been beaten in 2 moves by a computer xD I don't think he even looked at all during that game.

  • rare to happen, common on idiots

  • @MELLAD4 Really? Sad only? It's Catastrophic!! Complete Idiot!

  • It isn't 2 moves!

  • @Superstitiousboy A MOVE IS CONSIDERED INDIVIDUALLY FOR EACH PLAYER. SO WHITE MOVED TWICE AND BLACK MOVED TWICE

  • @Superstitiousboy

is 2 moves 2 moves is 2 each.

  • pfft

  • Nobody would ever make a mistake like that!

  • @RAKRStudios my dad did yesterday lol

  • @RAKRStudios i have done it 4 times the first time was to see if it could be done then the next three times where poor chess playing skills on my part i also lost this way two straight times.

  • thanks a lot

i decided to try this on my computer chess and now my stats are 1 loss worse because you beat white!! :(

  • I beat a guy in ONE move.

The guy aborted the game because he didn't like me moving to c4. =/

  • This is Scholar's Mate. Fool's mate is 4 move checkmate.

  • @DiewithAvengence Wrong way round you fool.

It's quite amazing people like you say really fucking stupid things all because you can't be arsed to open a new tab and google it beforehand.

  • @MELLAD4 just did it to someone today. i was suprised they allowed it

  • @MELLAD4 i've done that to a few people. everyone blunders badly to some level or other, even garry kasparov lost a game that way in his world championship tournament.

  • nice but whos stupid enough to do what the black guy did lol

  • this was the first move i learned haha

  • @j5drumr Look at the queen its coverd bye pawns

  • w8 y dont he just put the queen in the way??

  • @Tikotsu551

wow u r retarded. do u even know how to play chess

  • @ronak8485 shut up about the dude dude. maybe he doesnt know how to play chess. BIG WHOOP! not everyone plays chess

  • it is foolish way for beginer

  • how do u beat black in two moves? this shows how to beat white and if u try and do this to black u cant because white has to move first

  • @deathboy5878 It isn't possible at all. Unless black is on it's second move and surrender but that isn't checkmate. Besides the fools mate lives up to it's name so I wouldn't bother.

  • Awsome

  • you can reverse it

  • i can counter it full

  • What a sweet mate!

  • old chess notation...

  • yeah but he did 3 moves title is checkmate in 2 moves the guy is mate in 2 but he did it in 3 moves

  • Look closer. It was two. Two is the amount that black moved.

  • they both moved two

  • No, it's written as 1. f3 e5 2. g4 Qh4#.

    So That's only 2 moves.

  • a move in chess is one go for white and one go for black. One go for white or black is called a ply.

  • Are you watching the same vid as everyone else?

  • wow! you would have to lucky to do that to somebody lol

  • My brother did this by accident 20 years ago during a chess competition. He and his opponent didn't realize it was checkmate until after my brother made the second move and his opponent attempted to find a way out of the situation. They eventually called a judge over to confirm that it really was a win. The judge confirmed it, but admitted he had never seen a win like that before.

  • 20 years ago............. really matters right?

  • it were 3 moves

  • you obviously know nothing about chess

  • he is mate when the 3rd move is

  • in chess, a move is when both sides do something on the board.

  • it "Pat" ! End of game. =))

  • I did invoked it deliberately a few times before. Good fun and hilarity ensued.

  • it happened to me...

  • it happened to me too...

  • actually, the proper notation is

    1. F3 E5

    2. G4 Qh4++

  • The proper notation is

    1.f3? e5

    2.g4?? Qh4#

  • not enough question marks.

  • That actually isn't the fools mate. I would explain it, but I could only show it to you.

  • I guess it doesnt get more stupider than this.

  • I have done this when I was 11 years old and thought I was the only one!!!!^^

  • I lost like this when I was like 11. XP

  • Well... i have done in atleast 3 of my chess games....

Even people that have never played before and only know the moves of the pieces still don't fall for it...... it's the people that play and have wierd tactics/never seen that before lol

  • this was a awesome video

  • wow what a checkmate

  • ive seen in moves

  • Lmao Phillip at how you tried to analyse the opening with basic principles. No analysis needed. Anyone who plays 1.f3 needs the pawn shoved up their arse and players who consider the opening somewhat sound should also suffer the same fate.

  • I heard that f4 recently became a popular opening in my area.

  • Meaning?

  • Play e6 and hope they play g4. Maybe.

  • Are you pissed

  • No not at all.

  • guys, theres a reason its called the fool's mate, jesus christ

  • Nope, it was 2 moves. You don't count the other person's move as your own.

  • your stupid, it was 2 moves

  • So the title does say it's 2 moves, stupid!

  • 2 moves for 1 player. 4 moves in total.

  • Yes, but it does not count. We usually only count moves for one color.

  • @RayyM2 in chess one move is a move of both colors.

have you played chess with clock and writting?

  • @yoPhilly528 1 move is:

    white move, black move

  • this owould never happen

  • Believe it or not, I've seen it happen at low-level tournaments.

  • this sucks

  • A very foolish mate. The moves do nothing to help in development and the bishop pawn blocks a space for the knight. It doesn't even do anything to control the center and most of all it breaks the law of king safety.

  • If my opponent does that and I win, my opponent will say "What the freak>???????" lol he'll get pwned

  • pwnt
