  • I've seen this before, always thought the Russians shot it down because of the number on it, maybe they believed Britain's top special agent was trying to spy on them.

  • People lost their way and got shot:-)...of course, not the fault of every Russians, somehow,I remember this and read it on Times mags, really sad.I was looking for this video, thanks for uploading.

  • obviously double agent james bond was flying the plane :) but in reality what did you expect that russian president flyes beside you with an helicopter and say Greetings my friend ...i have to say that you are flying in a restricted russian flyzone can you please leave some point in time so it can be restricted ...wtf

  • I blame the pilots. They really should have known better that to fly over restricted Soviet Union airspace in those days.

  • @P1mpMyBr1de And so that excuses the Soviets to shoot down an obvious airliner.

  • I had sex with a B747!

  • @RZ3296 How?

  • @RZ3296 Shoved my 8====D into its tail-cone! And we made little hybrid half plane half human thingys. THEY FLY!

  • @RZ3296 I really want to try what you're smoking.

  • Oh lily bells (ohh lily bells) ohh lily bells (ohh lily bells), I may have done some foolin, da da da da da da da, I've got spurds that jingle jangle jingle! Fallout New Vegas is AWESOME!

  • Oh lily bells (ohh lily bells) ohh lily bells (ohh lily bells), I may have done some foolin, da da da da da da da, I've got spurds that jingle jangle jingle! Fallout New Vegas is AWESOME!

  • Russians shoot down two korean civilian aircrafts during the cold war...as a korean I need to ask seriously whats wrong with them?

  • @nedlee1 It was ignorance on the Russian commands part, I read transcripts from the radio conversation the Russian Pilot and the Commander had between eachother. The Pilot was skeptical about shooting it down but the Commander was simply wanting it shot down. It is a tragedy and is extremely unfortunate on the Korean's part, but if you must blame someone, blame the Soviet command. The Pilot was simply following orders. On the transcripts he was being threatened by Command. He had no choice.

  • it really sucks they didnt at least finish their coffee before they were gone!!!!!

  • Before you all judge look at Iranian Flight 655; it is the same problem that we shot down. Yet look at the comments on Korean Flight 007 and look at our reactions.

  • i can't believe what i read here.

I ask all of you commentators to take a min and think about this:

SHOULD THE GOD DAMN BLOODY WAR EVER BE AN EXCUSE FOR KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE? !

THE PILOT COULD'VE HAVE MADE RADIO CONTACT ! THINK ABOUT THIS, HOW HARD IT IS TO CALL THE CIVILIAN AIRLINE AND CONFIRM???

I SAY THIS IS NO ACCIDENT, I SAY THERE ARE A SHITLOAD OF PEOPLE THAT'S RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS, INCLUDING THE GOD DAMN COMMIE UNION AND UNITED STATES THAT INSTIGATED THE GOD DAMN COLD WAR !

  • I hate Russia

  • "Lost of life appears to be heavy" No shit sherlock.

  • Jesus you guys. I'm Russian and I know why they did it. All i'm saying is watch the whole fucking show before you make god damn acusations.

  • @Cerberus957 I know why they did it. I also know that 007 was off course. Human error contributed....but how can someone possibly believe a huge jumbo with KOREAN AIRLINES on the fuselage be a spy plane. A major boo-boo was made.

  • @dave46563 He was right behind the 747 the whole time. unless they have Korean Airlines facing backwards he could not see it.

  • why the hell would do it

  • fascinating episode

  • ....continued from my last comment.....

To top it if, we flew on Korean airlines 117!

  • My father told me a chilling story the other night. When I was 10 years old, my family and I flew from Anchorage to Korea in route to Thailand. It was early morning when we departed and the flight attendants instructed us to pull the window shades down. My father said he was worried because we could have been mistaken for a military aircraft!

  • I wonder will there be an episode about Iranian flight 655?

  • @surv91ilmari It was already made - Season 3 Episode 1 "Mistaken Identity"

  • i love how in 5:40 to 5:50 he is like " What happened" And he cleraly sees something is wrong with the plane.

    Oh, these Asians

  • The Americans did the same to TWA 800, so all of you Americans getting fits... just be quiet.

  • @AfroPoli I'm afraid not, ASSHOLE. We had NOTHING to do with TWA going down in the ocean. Get your goddamn facts right. It was due to an electrical buildup that sparked and ignited the central fuel tank.

  • @Capt777harris Wow, what smart posting. Congratulations, cowboy.

  • @AfroPoli You know what? I am a cowboy. I've ridden horses, shot rifles and six shooters. But I've also studied science, logic and engineering.

What the fuck have you done? You come to an American website using American technology posting about the tragedy of an American friend you goddamn sack of shit.

  • @Capt777harris American site - yes. American technology - no. American tragedy - homemade. I can see you are better at shooting and using insults rather than "science", "logic" and common sense. And your fundamentalism reminds me of the mullahs.

  • @AfroPoli Well shit dude, Allah Ackabar. The net was developed south of where I live. The architecture for your computer developed right here.

God you commie fucks are all over the place.

  • @Capt777harris Yeah, the commies are all over the place, time for you to kick some ass!

  • @AfroPoli Sure thing, man. I'll start with you.

  • My grandfathers Brother died because of this, My grandad would have died if he didn't say ''I don't want to go to the flight'' , it's actually terrifying

  • I've gone NY to Taipei via Anchorage and we totally flew over Kamchatka, after this conduct Russians seem like menaces to aviation!

  • Why did US even get involved in this? Obviously they needed to pay attention but surely if anything made the Soviets coverup facts it was the "race" they had with the US to find the plane in the first place when it wasn't anything to do with them. The Japanese should have represented 'the west' in helping finding the wreckage so the truth could have been found more easily. The USSR would never have admitted to the shootdown obviously but what was announced would have been closer to the truth.

  • WTF? Hello? That is a fucking PLANE, with fucking radio control, through which you can make clear contact. Can't you just make sure they land safely instead of killing 100+ people? What is wrong with those Russians?! I had respect for them!

  • Good job it wasnt an American plane.......back in 1983......world war three!

  • Stupidly enough the Russian's did "warn" the "Spy Plane" by firing shots from their cannon -why didn't they make radio contact?! How the hell are you meant to hear shots from 35, 000ft? Also the cannon on the SU-15 (Plane that shot KAL 007 down) didn't have tracers, so the 747's pilots could not see them. Another fact: Both missiles missed, but sadly one exploded near the tail causing system failures and a decompression. The stricken airplane then crashed into the ocean killing 269 people.

  • Stupid Russians, They need to stop drinking their Vodka.

  • @Mattbellamy123Muse Russia, you smart ass. How old are you? I hope your not older then 11, because anybody older then 11 should know this.

  • Soviets can be real bitches sometimes

  • Why don't you guys message each other instead of debating on the comments?

  • i swear half the animation is reused from pan am 103

  • @nocturn333 ...and the South African Airways 295 episode

  • REMEMBER THIS TOO:

"U.S. Navy, the cruiser USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655 with the loss of all 290 passengers and crew on 3 July 1988"

    CRIMINALS!

  • @Starscream2040 YOU better remember it was a real COMBAT SITUATION, you try being in the Vincennes' shoes if you were in charge of the Radar Screen and you saw something that appears to squaking "Hi My Name F14" And your ship is all ready under attack by gunboats. Are you really going to spend a lot of time on finding out if it is really is F14 not a passenger plane. NO YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GIVE TOO MUCH THOUGHT

  • That's cool. I didn't know that.

  • The fighter jet that shot that jet down was a suckoy sue-15.

  • @abcdefg6554 Actually it was a SU-21 wich was a modern variant of the SU-15 (like the SU-33 is a variant of the SU-27 but they look the same and are in fact basically the same plane)

  • With a flight number like 007 I can see why Russia shot it down. Clearly a spy plane. You know they fly 747s into enemy airspace to spy all the time. They are very hard to spot by radar and fight jets. 747 has a very low profile and can be hidden easy.

For you idiots, I'm being sarcastic.

Russia did this on purpose. Russians will all be held responsible and will burn in hell for their actions.

  • @TheAmazingCreative

Then, I'll say the same about AMERICANS in general as you like to talk:

"U.S. Navy, the cruiser USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655 with the loss of all 290 passengers and crew on 3 July 1988"

  • @TheAmazingCreative theres 2 possibilities imo, they either did it deliberately so that the US will initiate an attack to the USSR and make the US the "agressor" or its really an accident because theres a real spy plane lingering around and the russians happened to be doing shit over that area.

  • @TheAmazingCreative DO NOT SPOT WITH AIRCRASHES

  • @TheAmazingCreative The Russians that did this. Going to hell almost seems too light.

  • @TheAmazingCreative Wow, that's unbelievably vicious, but then I'd expect threats of hell and damnation from some creationist idiot. In '88 America shot down an Iranian airliner for entering restricted space. Did they do it on purpose? Are all Americans responsible? Will you all burn in hell for your actions? Shit, only in March your boys were shooting Libyan civilians for daring to help them out of a helicopter crash. You guys must be on an express elevator down by now.

    Jingoistic cock-end.

  • @GregJPreece

    What Iranian airliner? Give proof.

  • @GregJPreece

Americans weren't the only ones who perished in flight 007.

  • @TheAmazingCreative wow, did you even watch the whole video? Did you not think that if the Americans could blame the soviets officially, or had they any evidence that this incident was on purpose, they would not have already? :/ and..."Russians will all be held responsible"? hahaha, wow, if we were all responsible for what our countries has done, then most people would be burning in hell. (but we Canadians wouldn't =P)

and I love how many ignorant companions you have there :)

  • @TheAmazingCreative IT WAS A ACEDINT! you just dont know what the Russians think.

  • @TheAmazingCreative as if the so called free world wasn't testing Soviet air defenses or spy eqiupment on board

  • @TheAmazingCreative So you amers shot down IR665,just to show them you can do it too. :D

  • @TheAmazingCreative Russians will all be held responsible and burn in hell because a few KGB guys did this? You must be the shittiest nutcase around!

  • @TheAmazingCreative

We both know who truly will burn in hell ?

Yeah who's spy plane was flying at the same spot all day.

    Get of your high horse.

  • @TheAmazingCreative listen to me man, the korean plane was flying inside russian airspace and was not responding to calls from the russian airspace defence. it was a tragedy happened by pilot error, you dont fly into others airspace besides the soviet union doesnt exist anymore and you cant punish russia now, because many of the former soviet countries are now in NATO

  • Fuck the russians... Russians, I have a message for you: GO TO HELL.

  • @koistinennnn

    What about this:

U.S. Navy, the cruiser USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655 with the loss of all 290 passengers and crew on 3 July 1988

  • @Starscream2040 Shiit... lot of idiots in this world...

  • Classic Russian behavior. People fail to realize - historically Russians are sloppy in their operations. While it would be concerning for an aircraft to bust airspace, even in the 80s there were plenty of ways to ID aircraft as friend or foe. The aircraft was never in a time critical location in which the soviets had to immediately shoot it down. This comes down to communist aggression and a classic failure to coverup their mistake. The cold war was not black & white. It was good vs evil.

  • @mpoho2000 Wow oh my god, shut up you dumb uneducated pro american fool. Wow again, go read a good investigative book on this incident that analyzes more than what this show is telling you.

  • @zortab An ignoramus denying Russia's sinister behavior. Most likely a Putin supporter...

  • @mpoho2000

    Who was good?:

"U.S. Navy, the cruiser USS Vincennes shot down Iran Air Flight 655 with the loss of all 290 passengers and crew on 3 July 1988"

Russians Sloppy? that has to be a joke... They are great mathematicias, scientists, soldiers, atheletes... that about beign sloppyis just in hollywood movies... where you can see that kind of image.

But when you have them in front of you you can see they are very smart... if they can win in chess for decades, what makes you think they

  • @Starscream2040 Hahah, you're talking about paintball and chess? Are you serious? You're a total fool. I'm not talking about any specific Russian numb nuts. I'm talking about the Russian government, which is notoriously sloppy in its operations. Everything from nuclear disasters coverups, Chechen rebels, Cold war, state sponsored terrorism against journalists and pro-democratic movements, etc. The list goes on. Completely corrupt and sloppy my friend.

  • @mpoho2000

This are your words: "historically Russians are sloppy in their operations."

So you didn't get the point, when you know them.. in every day situations of life... you cant talk like that about RUSSIANS in general.

So next time....specify... you can't talk about Russians in general or russian goverments in general, but the specific people involved.... there are reasons why russia had the bad luck to suffer in hands of some of their own rulers.

  • @mpoho2000

By the way, you are saying things like that about the russians because of this video... So what would be your opinion about Americans considering the IRAN AIR FLIGHT 655???

The Korean Aircraft was in Russian Air Space... where was the iranian passenger aircraft shoot destroyed by an american missile??

  • @Starscream2040 Flight 655 was different, yet very unfortunate. The Iranian flight took off during a naval battle. After numerous attempts to IDENTIFY the aircraft, it was shot down while approaching a naval destroyer. At least the Americans admitted to the terrible misidentification and didn't try to cover it up.

  • @mpoho2000 Totally evil, in my opinion.

  • @mpoho2000

The U.S. Government was and still is, just as shitty.

  • @mpoho2000

can't have better strategies that other countries? hollywood movies?

People lies to themselves thinking they are not good at anythign that they are bad trained.... and yet... the champions of the american paintabll league is dominated by russians, they world sniper championship is dominated by russian soldiers, etc.... my point is... avoid that expressions as "Russias are sloppy" makes you look silly

  • @Starscream2040 When I say Russians, I mean Russian government. That's a pretty fair statement. You silly little you.....

  • i blame the rc135 and soviet and usa enemity for this disaster. not soviets fault alone... its the stupid desire to show off, maybe the patriot feeling to show one's counrty is the strongest, lust of power and wat not...

  • 2:35 Check your Vne SIR? Cool!

  • 2:35

    Exceeding the Vne SIR? Cool!

  • USSR is evil

  • @microlaser2 That night got RC-135 invade USSR , it's hard to know that's a RC-135 or 747 , the pilot who shot down this plane belive the plane he shot down was a spy plane

  • i dont care about these silly comments - i can just imagine em sat there gettin all hot headed - grrrrrr i must reply to them the silly bastards , it was their fault - no it was them - ooowww sod it! who cares - ACI/MAYDAY is fabulous - but i prefer the canadian narrator. hes gotta a deep sexy voice... errrmm - right time to man up.

  • 9:39 lol luv the banner, soviets go the hell

  • in soviet russia, target destroys you

  • flying at an altitude of 35k ft(higher than normal), slowly crossing the aerospace border of the soviet union, well if i was a radar operator back then i would identify that as a spy plane, considering that it is the height of the cold war, no reconnaissance would be tolerated on both sides of the iron curtain.

  • @UseUrHead503 35000 ft is normal cruising altitude for a passenger jet a spy plane would be at about 70000 ft

  • @tarded55 only a u2

  • @FOTONOVELLA1978 which is a spy plane

  • The Americans had also shot down an IRAN AIR passenger jet in Persian gulf

  • @shahrestoon Yeah, well the cold war makes countries starting with U back then do stupid things.(USSR, USA)

  • @Airlinesguyrulz don't forget UK.

  • @donbosco0101 Funny. I meant countries that shot down planes(Iran Air 655&KAL007)

  • @Airlinesguyrulz You can tell it directly.... :)

  • The mistake is with both the pilot as well as Soviet pilot......The boeing 747 pilot forgot to engage autopilot while the soviet pilot fails to identify the civilian plane to be spy plane..................99.55555555% mistake is with soviet pilot whereas 0.00000001% is with Pilot

  • HOW DARE U STUPID SOVIET SPY ;P

  • They eat dogs, after breaking their legs to stow them in wicker cages.

  • @Truimphful *throws up all over keyboard*

  • kal 007 and kal 015. what in the world, sisterflight what, please tell me

  • With that action the Soviet "Union" (sorry) could start a global war.

  • Incompetence, precipitation, fudge, cowardice, neglect and homicide. To the soviet pilot, that cowardly and clumsy faggot, and those bitches who gave the order to shoot down this Korean 747, I would threw they in the hole of the damaged reactor number 4 of the Chernobyl plant to absorb enough plutonium to contaminate an entire country and let them slowly die in pain.

  • @raulox71 Great Idea!

  • @Airlinesguyrulz I know, hehehehe.

  • i heard the real black box they arent speaking english lol.

  • The focking Russians lied from the get go. First they said they didn't shoot down a civilian plane. Then they claimed they didn't know where the wreckage was, then claimed they didn't know where the flight recorder was. Several years later the truth came out. Commies are nothing but scumbags and liars. Nuke that worthless country Russia

  • @veryslyfox i have vacant mw2 25 kill streak nuke! lol

  • @veryslyfox your post sounds like it is from some braindead redneck stuck in 1985.

  • Bollock's. This was a spy plane!

  • in soviet russia, passenger jets are the ones shot down

  • Woa where did this episode come from? I thought last ep of season was the Chalk's ocean air crash...

  • 0:55 Hey, isn't that from a Spongebob Episode??

  • yesterday i readed an 5-page-article in a magazine about this. another korean airlines boeing 707 whas shooted down too by an russian fighter jet. this plane was lost too. (KIJK, october 2010, an dutch magazine)

  • Russians are the ones who shot down the plane,God curse em

  • @duicker77 ...Americans had shot down an Iranian passenger jet too once.....guess the scores settled!!!

  • @vyazz Americans thought that it was fighter

  • @vyazz tell that to the families of those who died on KAL 007.

  • @Darthbelal .............it was a horrible incident no doubt...........but wot I wanna say is that Russians aren't the only perpetrators of war crimes here!!!! Americans have their hands bloody as well through years of flexing their military muscle. Take the Mai Lai massacre in Vietnam to name a few, not to mention dozens of CIA sponsored assassinations in south america!!!

  • @vyazz As a nation, self examination is a good thing. We Americans do it all the time and we try to take the best course of action. Self loathing isn't and I can't stand it. Yes, mistakes do get made and actions do get taken that the American people simply don't like and we normally do something about it.

The KAL 007 case is about incompetence on the part of the USSR. A Russian MiG should've been able to pull alongside a passenger jet, flash its lights and escort it out. They didn't.

  • @Darthbelal ............well I guess if things come down to introspection then its a good thing!!!..........Newayz.........think the shooting down of the passenger jet has a lot to do with the cold war paranoia both the US and the Soviet Union faced back then...rather than incompetence. Paranoia stems from insecurity, and its always the insecure nations that are usually responsible for crimes against humanity. Take the case of Pakistan and North Korea for instance!!!!

  • @vyazz let me give you an example on why I say it was incompetence on the part of the USSR. Remember those Libyan terrorists who pushed that poor old guy off a passenger ship and into the ocean, it was mid 80s. Anyway, we got intelligence that they were going to be on a passenger jet and it was going to over international waters. A brace of F-14s were sent and intercepted that airliners, they got its attention and made it land in Italy. The USSR should've been able to do as much.

  • @Darthbelal As far as the Korean flight is concerned, the only one who could have determined whether or not the flight was a civilian one was the fighter pilot aboard the MiG. As he himself said in the interview he was "convinced" that it was plane on an espionage mission. Like I said, as far as incompetence goes, didn't the Americans shoot down an Iranian civilian plane for the exact same reason. In the current world scenario there are no "mistakes"

  • @vyazz The Vincennes was in the middle of a battle with several gunboats, they picked an IFF signal from an Iranian F-14, and a passenger jet wandered into the middle of that battle with a very jumpy naval crew. Already, one naval captain was forced to retire because he had let his ship get damaged by Iranian gunboats. So the captain and crew of the Vincennes was under a LOT of pressure and had to act very quickly.

  • @vyazz The KAL 007 was flying a very straight predictable course and had its lights on. The USSR had PLENTY of time to send up fighters to identify that plane as a 747. Keep in mind that Soviet fighters and interceptors are very much controlled by those on the ground and aren't allowed the flexibility to make decisions on their own, also their radio frequencies are on a very narrow channel to not allow USSR pilots to communicate with anyone other than Soviet ground crew. Soviet incompetence.

  • @Darthbelal m not a Russian n i dont want 2 start a fight but the US is no better. I watched the other episode where the US navy shoots down Iran Air Flight 655 n to top it up they give medal 2 the guy 4 shooting it down in broad daylight . Just watch these for information n stop putting up such stupid comments.

  • @baruahz If you really wish not to get into fights with somebody, you might try NOT calling their comments "stupid" as it's kinda like waving a red flag in front of a bull to some people.

And no, I'm not going to do the moral equivalency thing. There were MAJOR differences between the Vincennes incident and the KAL 007 thing. Had an Aeroflot airliner intruder U.S. and was headed towards a military base, a pair of F-15s would've very kindly escorted it away and nobody would've gotten hurt.

  • @vyazz That´s 100% right.

  • @vyazz it was a friggin mistake i guess the morale of the story is to not depend on technology for everything.

yet these guys did it to a passenger plane that had slowly wandered off course...

makes u wonder how they sleep at nite

  • @vyazz for sure the will say the american have every right to do so.

  • Excuse my ignorance but why were the people bleeding from the mouth and nose?

  • Comment removed

  • @WTFaFlyingSheepGoat you DO realize that pressure DECREASES as you go up right?

  • @LittleMissMichigan same thing when u jerk off, pressure has to find its way out of your body! key word' pressure

  • @LittleMissMichigan Probably flying debris

  • lets pray for the people died during the crash....... RiP...

  • @EJ123EJStar Why pray, theyre already dead

  • @EJ123EJStar Wanna sacrifice a goat as well?

  • wtf

  • I'm really curious how you came to that conclusion. Enlighten me.

  • Kali1050, at the age of 67 you're living proof there's no fool like an old fool. You probably think 9/11 was an inside job, right? God, I hope you haven't reproduced. And to the rest of the commenters who's only contribution to the discussion is lol or lmao: I have to wonder what's caused your sick, pathetic minds to find humor in the deaths of innocent people. You really do give yourselves away as ugly, twisted fucks. Go ahead, bomb away. People with a moral compass aren't impressed by you.

  • @ize2dsky And with this post you JOIN them...twit!!

  • @ize2dsky People with a moral compass, don't appreciate your impassioned vitriol either "ize2dsky". If your anger fueled rants are the baseline for our societies morality, then the world truly is full of, as you so eloquently put it, "twisted fucks".

  • @ize2dsky i agree

  • @ize2dsky Thats sad the US actually shot down the plane. Go fire at some other airline! And gueess what..you won't believe me. But give me 5 details of proof on WHO WAS BEHIND 9/11 hmmm.?

  • God bless all the passengers and the crew of flight 007

  • 9:04

    Look on the guy's face:

    MO-THER-FU-CKER!

  • Lol , makes me laugh when he says ''What happened'' What do you think happened? lmao!

  • when the plane is in the air, there isn't much for the pilots to do. ORLY?

  • @xGot2PullThroughx That is very true, all they do is monitor their instruments, the autopilot flies the plane.

  • @DannyEddy357 it's just the way they worded it xD i didn't mean it seriously

  • @xGot2PullThroughx Lol yeah your right :)

  • That is what happens when the damn Yanks use civilian planes and innocent passengers in their war games, testing the soviet air defences.

  • @Kali1050

The planes korean not yank 0.o

  • @Kali1050

    Sources?

  • its korean air, wtf does that have to do with america

  • @iAirsoft69 My Grandpa's bro was in this flight. My Grandpa was supposed to go but he didn't want to... and fyi the flight took off from New York.

  • mmmmmmmm rice the guy whos eating is proubly thinking awwww f that plane i want my rice lmao

  • god darn commies

  • What's with the ridiculous shot of the bowl of rice at 7:57?
