Good point, but alot of them never even knew about rigger modifications like pouches before the jump. I agree, we all like light weight gear but if they had the appropriate weapon alot of them took 2 or even 3 bandoliers or just filled up GP's with Garand clips.

Cool but I'll be honest- thanks to band of brothers and saving private Ryan airborne is really overrated it seems as if that is the only reason. Also I know alot of people who only like 101'st airborne because of the spade. If those movies or shows were based on say, 3rd marines, or they had the spade, they would be most popular

kid you look ok, but if you come to a reenactment like that, you'd only get called a FARB, a memo to everyone. Just because you see things in movies dosent mean it actualy was like that. read actual biographys of soldiers of both sides and look at original photographs, then you can get the right impression :) just some friendly advice from a re-enactor

I started just like him because of band of brothers and now I take WW2 So goddamned serious.
