  • Best way I've seen to take care of the chip without damaging the physical card is to run a very strong magnet over the back of it. This will disrupt/damage the RFID chip circuits and make the card inoperable when reading. Swiping it still works.

  • Another overreaction - the sky is falling!

  • What type of battery, and power output does this chip have? I will have to check my Chase Master Card for this chip...

  • so many version's of doing this, how about one that doesn't leave damage to the card. If they get to hide the chip I want to be able to hide that I made it not work.

  • If i get to i am gonna try this on one of my parents old debit cards!!!!! XD this sounds like so fun!!!!!

  • Also a hammer can be used so you don't have an odd hole in your credit card

  • @pinkyodie this is what everyone I know does as well.

  • Oscar Wilde once said:

"The only way to remain in the memory of the commercial classes is bu not paying one's debts."

Fuck the banks, and credit companies. Do like me - max out your credit cards, and NEVER pay them off.

    F**k the New World Order!

  • dude, so glad you did this. We are powerful.

  • i just bent mine in the area of the chip, a slight crack was made, then i used a very small flat head to dig out and remove the shattered pieces of the chip... muahaha

  • @FamasPlox its really hard to notice

  • Does the card still function after you hole punch it? Thanks.

  • has someone actually done this and still is able to use their credit cards? is it on all major cc's?

  • what about carbon paper??

  • just put double layer aluminum foil in your wallet wrapped with electrical tape

  • so we can still use it once its out ?

  • @libbie7777 yea why not, the black strip is still intact. that all you really need to swipe your card

  • @joeratti oh then im going to get my paper puncher. thanks

  • Thanks! Now where did I put my hole punch...

  • Those chips will one day help in the enslavement of humanity

  • Mines a chip/RFID does this mean I have to remove the chip as well?

  • Sweet. Cut that BS outta there.

  • OR...you can call Chase and request a non-Blink card, which I recently did. LOL The more people request it, the more negative feedback Chase will get. Thanks for the effort though.

  • @nooyawkfun Yeah that's pretty much what I thought to myself. Why go through the trouble of damaging your card when you can simply get one with out RFID. Duh!!!!

  • @dellthinker

Can't, credit card company will not do that.

  • If you adjust the card with overhead light bouncing off of it, you can see the slight indentation...Punch hole there.

I noticed that measurement alone isn't always reliable.

  • @emoneyfoo Yeah, you can see it under good light: a little rectangle indentation above the blink logo. :D

  • Just hold the card with both hands, and push both thumnails into the area where the chip is until you hear it crack. Repeat until you feel satisfied, or until there are no more unpopped bubbles left on the bubble wrap... Oh wait, what were we talking about again? :|

  • What is the chip for? I mean what is the purpose of it being there in the first place if the info should already be in the card?

  • @tubej17 tracking device.

  • @tubej17 It allows proximity readers to accept payment without a PIN or signature for low value transactions which the card issuer believes are below their cost/benefit threshold to police more securely. I think it's an appalling development seeing as the consumer will generally foot the bill for unauthorised transactions which they don't detect themselves. VISA call this "PayWave". Mastercard have their own name. A thief can read the card ID right out of your wallet while its in your pocket.

  • You can just take a hole punch to the chip, card still works great. And you can stick it on your keyring when you go out! Win-Win

  • if you dont want the hole just use the hole punch and make it crunch the chip. worked for me

  • Thank you. Worked well. Take that Gubament

  • Thanks!

  • Any problems with card getting stuck in atm machine? Thanks for the tutorial
