    there wasnt hardly any valve train noise. and in an LS engine you are gonna have a lil bit when you have alot of horsepower due to dual springs and heavy duty valvetrain.

  • For the stock calipers yes. You will have to grind about 1/2-3/4 imches off the side. You will also have to use 1/2 inch spacers.I use Wilwood drag breaks so modification needed!

  • I was talked into starting with a 4bolt Dart bare block, rather than rebuilding my old 2bolt main. I wanted 408 cu-in because I heard their known to whind up pretty tight. Dart blocks are stronger, thicker, and wider so, they can withstand the abuse.

    The Dart was machined.....

    Scat 4.00 stroker crank. balanced

    Scat 6inch rods.

    Total Seal 4.30 forged piston. 11.50:1balanced

    Comp Cam solid roller (magnum 280ar)

    edelbrock super victor intake;

    barry grant 1095 cfm carb

    91 octane

  • this is a LS based engine and you can get 408 cubic inches with a stock block

    or you could also go with a .040 400 and that would be a 408 also

    and how would you fit a 4.030 piston into a 4.125 bore a 4.125 bore you would get a 427 with that crank

  • What video are you talking about? There's a lot on there of progressive states of the car; from up too 2 years ago. This car ran a 5.997 last Saturday on a 300 shot.

    I don't know who you know that ran a 6.80 on a cammed LS1 with a 100 shot but he must have been running under 3000 pounds. If not then your full o shit because that combo is not possible. Trust me I tried it. So before you start mouthing off like another You-tube idiot check you source!!

  • Did you use the stock ls1 block or did you go with an LS2 block? Any problems with Bottom Dead Center? I hear LS motors stroked expose most of the piston on bottom dead center, on the juice that's a weak point.

  • That car has a great sound! I have a 2002 ss and was thinking about putting a 427 from texas speed and performance. Would you suggest going with a 408 like yours or the 427?

  • Well if you have the money to invest in a 427 I would recommend that. The thing is, if you get the 427 your going to have to invest in the bigger heads and cam that are way more expensive than the LS6 heads you can put on the 408. Bottom line it all depends on how much you want to spend. For driving around town and max power I would go with the 427 but I have raced a few 427's at the track and beat them pretty well. Its also all about the setup you have from the motor to the suspension. Go 408!

  • That is a FAST LSX 92mm intake

  • do they add a lot of hp and how much are they

  • ohh yeah, usually you can expect about 15 RWHP on one of these plus its way better for your motor, way more air for you motor. They run about 750.
