@colby197 It's open to interpretation of course, but I think it's about growing up; the increasing responsibility of work as one moves from childhood to adulthood. Reminiscing about the old days "We'll soon remember if you do, when all things were tall, and our friends were small, and the world was new", yet not forgetting the beauty still present in every new day.

This is a song that I would want played for me everyday, beautiful, and very moving, lovely lyrics.

What gets me about this song is the way he's not singing it joyously, like you'd expect from the lyrics. There's all this pain in his voice; it's like something awful's just happened, and he's trying to convince himself to go on with life despite the overwhelming sorrow. It makes me think of the way you feel when you're driving to a funeral, and you look out the car window and see that everyone is carrying on exactly as though nothing has happened.
