I agree with this, but lsd isn't a drug that numbs your senses. It makes you see things in a different light. All the little intricacies are realized and the music almost becomes mathematically mind numbing. I'll listen to the entire Analord series with my hands over my mouth in amazement and am left feeling blow away and overwhelmed afterward.

That being said, it's unwise to assume he took drugs while making his music. He's just brilliant. :)

For thousands of years mankind has channelled energy and exhibited in many forms without the use of intoxication. Art, music and philosophy bent in lucid states of drug induced realms we evolved sounds like this. But the talent was already there and Aphex Twin would have traveled a different route, drugs change the expression only.
